"Somebody stop them! They're getting away!" The words sail over the busy crowds of a Corucant market during the night. The sounds of a ruckus are ignored by the patrons, except for the ones being pushed away while the blue twi'lek in an all-black attire push through them as they attempt to evade their pursuer. The twi'lek ducked through the crowds with reckless haste as they pushed through knocking people aside, clutching their prize in a satchel slung over their shoulder. As they plow through the crowd, they see the opening and head for it. Quickly ducking out of the crowd and into a dimly lit alleyway, never to be seen again.

* * * * *

Arah Tizun was hot on the heels of the twi'lek petty criminal who had to snatch a satchel from an unsuspected being, a satchel carrying personal information and credit chits; much like a purse would contain as such. A crime had been committed and it was up to Arah Tizun to see it to the conclusion!

Arah is a cathar, with an impressive height of 6'2" and a solid 189 lbs. A young pup who has something to prove to the Sector Rangers and the community he protected. The cathar, while young has obvious signs of combat of the past, the slightly misshaped nose, a few scratches along his face, and an ere of confidence. Wearing a tee-shirt and cargo pants, Arah would not be someone you'd expect was 'ready for action' it was such a simple outfit, but that's what he liked about it all. A simple outfit meant blending in more with the crowd and to not bring attention to himself, it also meant way better maneuverability.

Arah could see the twi'lek ahead, and he kept his eyes glued to the blue-skinned being with the head tails. He'd lived a mostly sheltered life back on Cathar, they didn't have exactly a large number of tourists or other species coming out to the great tree villages. "Somebody stop them! They're getting away!" that's what started this whole pursuit, all Arah could say to the person who shouted those orders was "Don't worry, I got this!" with a bit of arrogance about him. But that was the problem, the twi'lek WAS getting away and he just wouldn't want to admit to it. So all he could do was to chase and keep his eyes forth.

Arah leaped over a knocked over display as he pushed his way through the crowd, the distance between the two of them getting further and further apart, but Arah wouldn't give up the chase. There he goes! Into the alley! I got this one for sure! Was the thought of Arah's mind. He quickly dived into the alleyway and skidded to a halt. He looked to his left and his right, the crook got away from him. Arah walked down the alley with little regard as he could see the satchel lying up ahead. Guess he realized he was outmatched and gave up. Arah thought to himself. He approached the satchel and kneeled to collect the lost property, a slight smile on his face as he gave himself a 'job well done.' Arah picked the satchel up and slung it around his shoulder, Now to return this...

"Hey!" Arah's thought was cut short by the sudden voice. Arah turned to his left toward the sound of the unknown voice. Arah wouldn't even make the complete turn when the sound of 2 blaster bolts was discharged and quickly collided with his chest. Arah was knocked back, his eyes wide open as he felt the pain burning through his body which was soon canceled out by the hard thud and cold duracreate ground. It was the twi'lek he had been pursuing.

Arah was forced to watch as the blue twi'lek in black attire casually walked toward the now injured Arah. He walked so casually, a stupid smile on his face. Arah looked up to meet the gaze afforded by the twi'lek, but as he did so - the word faded away.

He had only joined not long ago, and his career was now over - never to be truly realized.

And as the world faded, a familiar voice caught the cathar's attention. "What happened Tizun?" Arah Tizun was about to reply, but it was cut off by the familiar voice, "I'll save you the work of thinking, cadet. You're dead."

The pain subsided and the dark Coruscant alley had now transitioned from the dark, dank, cold alley to a medium-sized room with a viewing port, there, in the port was a familiar Togruta with a rich orange skin, wearing a well-kept leather jacket and grey shirt, the epaulets indicating the togruta's position. That was instructor Baame, a sector ranger with many years under his belt. Arah had just fallen victim to a standard simulation at the Sector Ranger's Academy on Coruscant. Instructor Baame wasn't alone either, he had a few other candidates with him, spectating the display Arah had just done.

"And why did you die? Because you stopped paying attention and assumed the threat was done. You assumed that you had scared your foe, but you didn't. Criminals don't play fair and neither should you. Until they're dead or in custody, always suspect they're nearby and even when they are one of the two, never assume they're alone." Instructor Baame paused, "Now pick yourself up and get out of there. Kenthay! You're up!"

Arah picked himself up and dragged himself out of the simulator, as he left the room he passed the human entering to take his turn.

Arah was still fairly young and still had a chip on his shoulder, always striving to make himself look good in front of people. Instructor Baame was right though, like usual. Arah had let his guard down and that is what would get him in the long run if he didn't smarten up and start to focus. Being a Sector Ranger wasn't meant to be an easy task, you couldn't just walk in and be the best damned Ranger in an instant. It takes time and experience. Arah would have to learn this soon or else the simulation would be a real deal and his career could very well be cut short.

Each of the aspiring Rangers in his class would get a chance at a different simulated call. Some would prove to be nothing while others proved to be a challenge. Once the simulations were done, classes were done for the day as well. Arah was looking forward to that moment, he wanted to be off to lick his wounds and damage to his pride. No doubt some of his classmates would be judging him.

* * * * *

With the training day done, Tizun packed his stuff and left the classrooms, wandering away from the crowd - trying to keep his head down. The day was a good day though, lots of things were taught to him and he'd need to reflect on some of his mistakes - but that was the point, wasn't it? To learn and correct. It was a learning environment after all - better to screw up and make the mistakes here than out there, because at least here the consequences were minor and easily forgiven... mostly.

The weather was favorable today. With the classrooms behind him, he wasn't prepared to go back to his dorms, at least not yet. He thought for a moment if he wanted to attend a local cadet lounge to unwind, or if he should take a moment to clear his head, maybe he should go use the gym? He wasn't ultimately sure what to do next, but right now, he found himself in an annex, he found a spot to sit for a moment while he drew out his academy issued datapad to quickly go over his notes from the day.

He knew the chances of interaction with fellow cadets were likely and in all honesty, he wasn't upset about that. He didn't always like to be alone, it was nice to have someone to talk to. He was hoping that perhaps he could get to know some of the other Ranger's a little bit more, perhaps formulate some contacts for when he graduated and was out on his own. In this business, that was an important concept. Your partners. It wasn't limited to the bad guys who need to make contacts for dealings, it was common for the good guys to because no one can truly work alone.

(( OOC: I would like to have this thread considered to have happened in the past, not too far. Like a year or two. This allows for some simple and distant contacts for the future. ))

So dry...When Rachel had decided to leave home to enter the ranger academy, she thought she was prepared. A little bit of physical training, some mental sure, but she'd be able to get through it. What she didn't realize was that she wouldn't be allowed to drink as often as she wanted, meaning she spent most of her time sober. She'd often do things to pass the time like tap her feet rapidly to her favorite song or toss crumpled up piece of paper at people and then point to someone else, like a small child in a young woman's body. While she did often goof off she took the classes seriously, deadly serious. She always assumed she was well behind the other students in terms of learning ability and credibility, so she had a lot to prove.

She was walking idle-minded towards her next class when she caught sight of the simulated training going on in one of the rooms, a routine snatch and grab eh? She leaned up against the wall and watched the Cathar give chase to a Twi'lek. His build was pretty impressive and he moved pretty good, he will probably clear this pretty easily. She wanted to cheer him on but didn't want to run the risk of seeming like a "bumpkin from a backwater planet" as she called it. It was right around the part where he stopped to pick up the bag that she started to walk off, assuming he had succeeded. She had turned about half-way around when she head the blaster shots go off and spun to see the Cathar on the ground. He'd been played, and Rachel was sure if she had been there the exact same thing would have happened to her, she decided to keep this in the back of her mind as she was getting ready for her next class.

Once the days training session had ended and she was heading back to her lodging, she caught sight of that same Cathar hanging out in the annex. She figured without any Hutt brand Ale or some other kind of vice to pour his emotions into he could use some encouragement, so she walked over to him to do the best she could. "Hey, I saw you in that simulation earlier, you got some nice moves." She said with a wide grin as she took a seat right next to him. "I mean, sure you got shot, but I honestly think you would have scared the guy into dropping the bag way earlier if you came running at him like that." As she spoke she offered up a hand. "Name's Rachel by the way, who might you be?"

Arah Tizun was fairly enveloped in the notes - or at least that's the look he was going for. Despite what people say, the life of a Ranger wasn't exactly a simple action-fueled career choice, he was starting to realize that fast but for some people that would be a setback, but not for Arah, he found himself oddly interested in the inner-workings and it was almost even peaceful to him. Sure it probably couldn't beat the solitude of a Jedi or just be surrounded by the great trees back home, but out here in an urban jungle - you had to find peace some way, he would have been content - but then a voice breakthrough. A female's voice, he took his gaze from the notes to look her over. A scan from head to toe and back again never did his gaze linger, but it would be obvious that this behavior was a quick assessment of the friendly face. A habit that wasn't easily broken.

Good build. Fit. Common with Rangers. Human, friendly. No deceit. This was the result of his quick assessment. As a fighter and now attempting to become a Sector Ranger, it was this type of assessment that came to him in an instant. Over the years he had honed this ability and this entire assessment was rapid.

Arah concluded his head to toe assessment by meeting her eyes with his pale eyes. There was no additional hesitation as he accepted the friendly gesture that was the handshake. He may have always lived on Cathar, but he wasn't ignorant in socializing with various walks of life. "RRachel..." he repeated, rolling the R. "Tizun." It was a simple answer, but it said enough. Once again he made a mental note as he took her hand with his own. Firm. Strong grip. Not a stranger to a fight.

"
Have we met before?" His voice couldn't mask his lineage, even though he had been in Coruscant for a couple of years now, the accent was still obvious - while maybe not as thick as if he was back home. He shook his head, he honestly didn't need an answer, instead, he continued to speak. "I appreeciate it." He knew what she was doing, she was trying to give him a bit of a boost - and it seemed to work as his arms flexed slightly as he responded to her compliment, he wasn't about to reject it. He had committed such a stupid mistake and he was being his own worse enemy by criticizing himself. "But, 'twas no excuse. I should have anticipated such a rresponse."

"Sit?"
He waved his free hand to his seat.

Rachel maintained her smile while the Cathar got his bearings on her. She figured he was probably a bit shy, seeing as how he had been sitting by himself in the annex playing on his pad. Maybe he wanted someone to come cheer him up? She shrugged off these thoughts as he went to shake her hand. He seemed a bit zoned out when she first approach but now he was more relaxed and focused. She returned the handshake with a smile. "Nice to meet cha' mister Tizun. I don't think we met but I hear that I give off a familiar vibe, must be my incredible charm." She always liked to begin her introductions to people with confidence, it's the best way to live life in her eyes.

Rachel immediately sat down and began to relax in her chair, leaning over to look at Tizun's notes as she did so. She found the paperwork aspect of the Sector Rangers to be a bit boring, even as she glanced over she looked disappointed to find actual work on his pad. It wasn't like she was entirely incapable of doing it, but in order to invest herself into it she would have to tie herself to a chair or spend a few minutes goofing off. This would likely carry over into her career as a Ranger. "Well you certainly look like you wouldn't make the mistake twice, though I will admit that looking back it did seem kind of like a holovid movie" she snickered as she spoke. "You know, the ones where the door is obviously trapped but the protagonist goes in anyway?" she kind of let a snicker out as she spoke. "But it's a good thing you learned this kind of lesson while we're still training right? No telling how bad things would have gotten if you had been out in the real world with a badge on your chest."

She kind of stared off into space as she said this, she had to admit this was the first time she had actually thought of life after she graduated from the Academy. She always kind of figured she'd be spending most of her years here. The smile began to fade from her face for a bit as she thought about it. I could have easily made that mistake too, and I might've done so had I not watched him do it in the simulation. She'd been in dangerous situations before, having lived on a planet with a lot of criminals and the hostile Tuskens, but this was the first time the thought of death had really reached her head since her brother died. She snapped out of her daze and turns to Tizun with a smile "Besides, you can't be perfect this early this in your career as a ranger, gotta give the rest of us a chance after all."

Arah Tizun tilted his head a moment at the mention of a holovid, almost to entertain the idea, a smile crept across his face. "Video star? Hm. Well, you know I do my own stunts."

She had a point, there was no need to be down on it. That was the point of being here after all, get the mistakes out now so they don't cause an issue in the future. Because here it's just the matter of getting a pass or fail and the academy wasn't in the habit of failing people without just cause. Out there, it was a difference between life and death - and not just for you but for the people you serve. It's true, it is but a hurdle.

He had to dismiss his pad now, there really wasn't much reason to be going over it. He must have been so ingrained with the notes because he felt like he could make a difference and it'd be something he could do to prove something, to someone. At times he needed that confirmation, but he was by no means a child - he didn't always need it; it was nice to have. Instead, he gave the girl his attention, she was kind enough to come and speak to him. "No, your point is made. Could be, would be worse out there instead of here."

He took a moment to listen to her further, reaching up scratching his neck at the talk of being perfect. Did he need to be perfect? Maybe not perfect but near-perfect. It reminded him of his days of his youth, some of the training he had received was a constant 'perfect your form' or his stance. Master the strategies, he was a bit of a competitor. He needed to try and shake that feeling, no one here was expecting perfection - it wasn't like before. "Not Puurfect?" He still had a smile on his face though, "And here I thought I was in the rrunning for perfect."

"How much did you see anyways? It was a pretty good slide though - after that stall when the knocked it over."
As he thought about it, he could definitely see the action holovid vibes, he had actually seen that exact kind of think in a vid, figured he could replicate it. Guess it looked pretty good. He crossed his arms in pride as he made his comment, it might come off a little egocentric but it was his attempt at trying to be a little more relaxed, a joke even. He always thought himself to be a little awkward.

"So, RRachel. How do you like it here?"

Rachel let out a short laugh at his jokes, it seems like his mood lightened up, she even got a smile. It seems like what she said got through to him, and it made her feel a bit better about what she was thinking now. She figured that's what being a Ranger was for her, helping other people and other people helping you. This talk with Tizun had given her a lot to think about when it comes to how she wants to handle herself as a ranger. She'd always figured she'd be able to go guns blazing whenever she got into a dangerous situation, but watching his simulation and thinking about how bad it would've been if it were real had really gotten to her.

She reached in her bag and pulled out one of her bottle of juice, she'd been drinking anything with any kind of flavoring in it at this point. The taste of alcohol had been lingering in the back of her mind since coming here, and juice was something she was using to help with the "itch".
"Right? Something to think about at least, sometimes when you take a beating it's good to give yourself a win." she said as she took a sip from her bottle of moof juice as if her life depended on it. She snickered a bit when he said perfect, though she'd probably never tell anyone it was because of how he said it and not the joke.

"Pretty much the entire chase, including the lecture you got at the end from instructor Baame. I also saw you do a bit of a walk of shame, but if you want I can edit some parts of my memory for ya." She said with a hint of mischief in her voice as she spoke. She remembered seeing the slide and being pretty impressed, especially since she was usually only slightly above average in a lot of the physical tests that didn't require shooting. "But yeah, it was pretty impressive overall."

Being from the outer rim, Rachel was a bit far from her little house in the middle of the desert of Tatooine. She'd been feeling a bit homesick for some time now, especially without as easy of an access to some stuff you wouldn't really call "legal" or "safe" on the inner rim."How do I like it here? Well I am a bit far from home so this place is kind of...strange to me. It's like you're in an entirely different galaxy the deeper you go into the inner rim, ya know?"

The cathar listened to her speak, he leaned back in his seat as she spoke, when she mentioned something about editing parts of his memory, his eyebrows raised peculiarly, was she serious? She could alter memories? No. That didn't make sense, the only way to know for sure is if he simply asked her about the comment - but he didn't want to do that just yet.

All he could do was shrug at the mention of Instructor Baame. Arah wasn't one for getting many compliments really, so when she had agreed that it was "impressive" he wasn't really sure how to respond. Without responding, he continued to listen to her. He made note of the comment about being 'far from home' he could relate entirely, he didn't know where she was from but the way she talked, the mention of getting deeper into the inner rim. Arah nodded involuntary as she explained her experiences.

"I know what you say. The inner. It is new to me. Home is far as well, but similiarr. See, its like a... well so vast, large. It's different for me but similar in that... so much city. The buildings, swallow the sky like the trees from where I'm from. But at the same, people seem to ignore you - forget you, unlike home. You had status, big city but small communities so most knew you and you knew them. I trry, to find, similarrity. Comfort."

The cathar had the faintest of smiles as he spoke more about his home planet - trying to link the two. He missed home, it had been such an integral part of his life and to pack up and go; it was difficult. Family was, no, is important to him, Tizun had hoped that joining an organization such as the rangers would give him the family void he had. "So yes," the cathar continued, "I do know."

"Thirrsty? What are you drinking?"

Rachel had been had been hold onto a bottle of moof juice like it was medically required for her to drink it. For her it's gotten to a point where she'd almost forgotten how often she drinks the stuff. "Oh, it's moof juice from the outer rim, One of my brothers sent some to me. It's not exactly Hutt ale but it does the trick whenever I am on edge." She explained as she took another sip from her bottle, this one much longer than the last. She closed the bottle's cap and stuffed it back into her bag, now that she thought about it she was running herself out. She had gone through about two bottle a day, and her brother probably wouldn't be able to send her more for some time.

Even then however, that wouldn't stop her from being kind. She began to reach into her bag, humming a bit as she did so.
"Want some? I have two more bottles in here and the taste is pretty good." She pulled out another bottle as she spoke, shaking it inquisitively and raising her eyebrow. "All I ask is that you try not to think about what a moof is, the drink doesn't actually come from them I promise." She smirked as she said this, the idea of milking a moof was pretty funny to her especially since it was a common insult she'd always shoot at her brother, which is probably why he decided to send her the juice. moof milker.

Arah took the offer into consideration, 'Moof Juice' was something very unfamiliar to him but when she told him not to think about what a moof is, it intrigued him all the more. "Moof juice? Moof? What may they be? No. I suppose I don't want to know." He shook his head, I didn't think he wanted to risk it this time, maybe in the future he could partake in it but right now... it didn't seem that particularly appetizing.

"Rrrachel." The cathar started, "I need a distrraction. Join me in, something physical?" Tizun was referring to something like going to a gym, playing a sport, a run, or a sparring session. He was starting to get a little antsy sitting here in an annex out in the open. He didn't want to continue to sit still and wanted to move. The cathar rose to his feet and stuffed the datapad in a pocket as he spoke to her, he didn't make eye contact his eyes were on the pad until he stood and put it away. He looked around the area to get an idea, but ultimately he turned back to the woman standing in front of him. Normally he'd take charge and just dictate what activity, but he was trying to be a little more considerate.

"Idea?"

Rachel began to laugh when he asked what a moof was, it might've seemed weird at the time but moof-milker was still in the back of her mind. "Good call, though it's not as bad as I am letting on. some moof-milkers make a fine living for themselves out there." She placed the bottle she had pulled out earlier back in it's place, and closed up her bag. Save some for later Rachel, save some for later. She wrapped the small bag around her back again and returned to the conversation. She was beginning to feel a little bit antsy now that she didn't have anything to keep her mind occupied.

Almost as if he read her mind Tizun got up and asked her to do something physical. Huh, I could use a work-out she thought as she began to think on the possibilities.
"I know just the thing there Tizun." She got up and began stretching. "Let's go for a run, there's a nice spot right outside the academy." As she spoke, she gave him a light slap on the arm. "Maybe we can get you fast enough to catch up with that Twi'lek eh?" She raised an eyebrow and smiled as she began to stretch, making sure she had all of her items with her. "Though I warn ya, I'm pretty fast myself. You're gonna have to keep up with me." She would often find herself speaking in a somewhat sarcastic tone, it was mostly to distract people from the fact she was actually pretty cocky. "We can even have a race if you want, loser buys the winner somethin' nice?"

"Rrrrrrace?" The cathar growled delightfully "You want rrrace?" A sly grin flashed across his face for a moment. She was challenging him to a competition, that was something he could get behind. Tizun always looked for that moment to prove himself and to take the opportunity. While cathar are not exactly known for the agility over their strength, he still felt like he would have an edge of the human. Surely he could complete without much effort, right? "What nice?"

He observed Rachel stretching and getting herself more limber for the race about to ensue. Well, he was by no means impervious, it seemed only natural that he should join her - although he wouldn't put as much effort into his stretch as she did. As he joined her he was trying to assess her yet again, ever calculating, find that advantage, find that opening.

"Connnfidence. I like. But, too much?" he said to her slyly. "I accept the invite. To keep up that is, but truth it'll be rrreversed. Can you keep?" He was finishing up his stretching regime when he asked her one final question, "To where?" He needed to know or else he'd have no other choice but to simply follow her - she knew the route and he was just coming along for the ride. He didn't waste a moment though, as he asked the final question he was positioning himself at what he felt would make a good start line, a line in the ground where large tiles met, about halfway between his previous seat.

As she finished getting ready she tied her hair back, I have to get this cut soon she thought to herself as she got ready. "I'm thinkin' some food? I'll let you decide when you lose." She smiled as she got ready, jumping up and down. She began to think about how exactly the path went and what path they should take. Her eyes narrowed as she thought through where they should stop at, since the path mostly goes in a circle with some stairs in the way. She figured they'd probably need to start at some kind of store in order to complete the bet. "Though I will ask, if you DID win, what would you be interested in?" she said, looking over to Arah.

Rachel was confident in her abilities in most areas, almost to the point of self confidence. She had been focusing on getting faster on her feet and in the heat of the moment. But her confidence wasn't arrogance, she knew that she wasn't the fastest person in existence. She figured he had a decent chance to beat her, she hadn't seen too much of him running but she knew he was pretty fast.

"People love my overconfidence, I think it adds to my charm." She shot a wink as she spoke "And we'll just see who is keeping up with who when feet hit the ground, but I like it when my confidence is matched." she finished tying her hair back and got into a ready position. Her eyes narrowed as the where in the Cathar's question reached her. "The path loops, so I'll say the first one back here? After we finish the winner can think of something they'd like." She then dropped her smile as she began to focus on running. "I'll let you call when we start."

Arah cracked his knuckles, a slight grin sneaks across is face. "Small place, Sonic Bith. Good place. You? Your choice?" Tizun spoke as he started to get himself in a ready position as well. The irony of the name would be lost on the Cathar, there was no such thing as a Sonic Bith and it was a known fact that Bith had sensitive hearing to the point where a single sonic grenade could result in death for a such a species.

Tizun was not sure how this race was going to go. Running was a different kind of stamina and endurance compared to what he was more familiar with, but it wouldn't stop him. He was a firm believer of training and training hard, so in preparation for his fights he would combine cardio and strength. Cathar are fierce and he knew if it was down to a hand to hand he'd be able to deliver some harsh blows, they were hunters after all. So the question was, would he get his prey today.

Tizun would offer no response to her comment about overconfidence, or her 'charm.' She was likely trying to give a joke or two, maybe even a flirt, he wouldn't pick it up. Charm. Show me charm... He thought to himself, actions speak louder. His silence, the upright posture and the obvious look of entering a focused zone would be his display of confidence. Strong silent type, if you needed a description.

As he positioned himself he listened to her direction. To the loop, and back around. Simple enough. Was it to be a straight shot? He didn't know but he would assume as much, but he would certainly consider some form of efficiency, not shortcuts just the most efficient route. Although, he was not oppose to having to slide to his position or over ledges if that's what came of it. Obstacle course, that's how to look at it.

Without an explanation, indication, or even countdown, the Cathar declared the start of the race. "Start."

And without another trace, he was off. She would probably hot on his heels but he wouldn't give up. Straight shot? Focused on the path ahead, the world was non-existent. It was just him and the finish line. His breaths, the occasional sound of Rachel whenever she was close - her footsteps, her exhales. The grounds were not bare, there were other students and other runners in the area, but these would not stop him, he would either pass them or on occasion it seemed he would push himself past any obstacles - could even be considered rude, but for him it was just about the competition. His strides were fair, but he started the race with a sprint.

He would make it to the loop, it was only now that he would become aware of his status in the race. Was she in front of him or behind him? He wasn't sure but now would be the time he would have acknowledgement. He would continue to race.

"The nearest bar, I think there's one on the lower levels called the Twisting Twi'lek, but whatever is convenient." She smirked as she began to scan the area around them, making sure she doesn't bolt right into someone. Clear, all good now we can begin forreal. Her thoughts began to swirl back to what had been haunting her most of the time, dry....so dry. She focused herself to running, she just had to make sure she'd win. Maybe try something sneaky like saying start with no cou-

All she heard was the start and the cathar's large body was gone. "H-Hey! that was my idea!" She then began to run after him, he was a lot faster than she expected but she was hot on his tail. Their steps sounded like a mishmash of drumbeats before her mind began to focus on getting ahead. He had the edge on her for a long time, so she focused on conserving energy for the last stretch, the loop. This is where she'd kick it into overdrive.

As soon as they reached the loop she began to push herself a bit more, running at an even pace to Arah for a bit before pulling ahead by a nose. Keep up the pace Rach, save that energy she tried to maintain the speed she was at, but it was hard to focus on staying ahead. She was almost completely in front of him by the time she noticed him making eye contact with her. She didn't have the energy to manage much so she shot him a smirk before facing her face forward again. I'll focus on keeping up and conserving energy until the last stretch, then push it as hard as I can.

She was fast, there was no denying that. He could figure out here game pretty quickly - she was trying to converse her energy and push it at the last moment to secure the win. It's a simple strategy, one that so many people use. No matter, this would be no different. "You're fading." He quickly shot out at her. Arah was keeping himself in check, but he wasn't exactly just chilling and letting it happen, there was a little bit of sweat, but it might be hard to see with is fur. She was pulling ahead, well, let her have the moment of false confidence.

Arah pulled himself back to conserve some of his energy - but he wasn't about to let her just cruise to the end, no. He kept up with her, but she had some ground on him. Because he wanted it so.

He attempted to close the gap and then in 3... 2... 1... Cat like push!

All energy was released, she had some ground but he had hoped it would complete this race right at the front. She would be pushing herself at any moment now - and although he could be dirty, he opt'd to be fair. You got further when you acting in fairness, at least right now.

Rachel was kind of relaxed in this moment as she was running, a smile painting itself across her face as she started to have a bit of fun. It'd been a while since she could cut loose like this. She looked behind her as she heard Arah mention something about fading. What was this? was this an inquiry into her honor? Did someone dare question her speed? She took this as her que and looked forward, keeping almost entirely silent as she readied to push herself. I'll prove who's fading soon enough. She thought with a determined glare as she kept focus on the target ahead.

She noticed Arah pull back soon enough, she realized he was matching her strategy of pulling back and conserving energy. In that case it was all about this next moment. Rachel slowly began to pick up the pace as he pulled back, she was about to make him work for that push. Steadily increasing speed as they got closer to their destination. It wasn't long before she heard the steady increase in footsteps from behind her, and soon enough she was going full speed herself.

Soon enough they were neck and neck, their destination pulling in ever closer. an evil grin found it's way across her face as the two of them matched steps. She began to wonder if she should do this more often, this was the first time she ran this route with any sort of joy in it.
