Crix had told his mom, via message, that he was going to be heading out on a field-trip with school to the spaceport a couple of weeks ago and she'd signed the permission slips and such and he was ready to go. At the time he'd wanted to just mess around with some of his classmates and goof off looking at starships and their crews while their teacher failed to control them. Though any teacher who thought they could control forty teens by themselves was either kidding themselves or actively trying to lose some kids.

He was probably high on the list of kids they wanted to actually lose however since he was a bit of an ass in class sometimes. In his defense it was only when the teacher was droning on.

But that had been the old plan.

The new plan had come out in the wash after the explosion at home, the Ranger HQ attack and the run in with the pointy-eared little karker who threw them around with the Force. He'd finally had to put a name to the feeling in his gut and he'd spoken to his friends about it - about how he had the Force. That he was shite-scared about what he was going to actually do with it.

How the Jedi seemed like the less stupid option, for once in their existence.

And the field-trip offered a great chance to get the hell out of dodge.

Lingering at the back of the group as their teacher started a lecture about the logistics that were required to keep the spaceport running smoothly, he glanced to his friends. Namely Enby and Willa first - cus he was sure they were already bored. He gestured with his head for them, and Penny to follow him as he slunk off to one side until hidden from sight of the teacher. They'd agreed with Yo-Cho that they would slink off to the side here around this time so if he was interested he'd be there too.

If he wasn't then he'd have to remember to write to the guy this time.

"Alright I'm gonna make a break for one of the smaller freighters and get outta here." he told them, grip tightening on his backpack with all of his emergency credits and weapons loaded up in it, "Off to be a Jedi or whatever I guess..."

He... he hadn't asked them to come with him.

Honestly he didn't want to risk them saying no and leaving him to face it alone after building up the courage to ask them to join him. So, instead, he just didn't ask. He just kind of lingered in silence for a moment.

Penny was most definitely not on the list of kids that they'd want to lose. That sounded way lame, but conferred a certain advantage. Penny could be trusted. Any teacher worth their salt knew that kids like Penny were reliable. They could be left vaguely unsupervised and they'd come out with a perfect factsheet about spaceport logistics and a smile on their face. It meant that when Crix nodded her aside, nobody went looking for her. They just assumed she'd be somewhere important.

Why am I following him? I don't know him that well. He pointed a blaster at me. He's kind of an idiot, Penny wondered, looking back over her shoulder like she expected to get caught. Nope. Nobody looking for her. Just her own bad decisions watching with a smirk. Confronting anything like that head on required a more sure sense of herself than Penny could muster. These thoughts were sticky and strange and nope, no thank you.

She joined the small group, with the Pantoran guy she'd met at the apartments. The other two were like Crix, vaguely recognisable to her but obviously in a completely different social stratosphere to her. But she was the first to react when Crix laid out his grand plan.

"A freighter? Are you insane?" she said, staring at him. "You could be stepping onto a smuggler's ship. Or some random junker heading out to the Unknown Regions. You could be heading out to slavers or spice-runners or Sith..." she said, whispering that last part as she looked around. "For what? To join some space monks out there? You're going to get yourself killed. And then how will you get into college?" she asked, because college was the be-all, end-all and ultimate end-point of all this, in Penny's mind.

The youth pulled up to the space port drop off like a normal arrival. There was still no response from either of his parents yet on his comlink. The teenager wasn't in school anymore but he had heard from Crix. 'Some old school friends are heading off planet on a trip for a bit. Going to go with them.' That would give him some breathing room. Who knew, maybe he would be back in less than a week.

The short pantoran looked at ship passages and possible vessels to sneak aboard just out of habit. He could circle back to some of them after meeting with Crix and the others. Riyocho saw the throng of adolescents easily enough as he heard them. It wasn't hard to spot the blue skinned and pink haired teen though he made an effort to try and stay out of sight from the teacher. As he stared at the chaperon, they turned and began leading the group away, allowing Crix and the others to break off seamlessly. A short laugh and a grin at their luck.

The smile dropped as quickly as it had come to Riyocho's face. The first sentence out of Crix's mouth warranted a follow up cocked eyebrow. "What? Why?" He didn't know why someone would want to be a Jedi. Also for Crix he seemed to be leaving things behind and so would everyone else.

She had her hair up in the cutest pair of buns, UV paint on her forehead and cheeks. She had packed an overnighter bag, fully planning on crashing at Enby's after if she could help it. She needed to keep on the down low after the upload of her latest vidz; they were catchin' like wildfire, man, and a gal had to keep it on the down-low. With a black tank top that barely covered school reg, black leggings blocked with neon blue and green, and matching knockoff trainers, the only real shield from the cold or rain was a black hooded jacket, fashionably ragged and patched. She had one earbud in, not even listening to the kriffin' boooooring lecture.

It wasn't hard to pretend to bebop to the music, and stay behind. Truth be told, she was sure that chaperone was glad to let her go. It wasn't her fault it was easy to lift credit chips off'a strangers; it was just so easy. And she didn't even have to return anything!

But then Crix started talking.

She froze. Light brown eyes glossed over; she felt like she'd have been socked in the stomach. What, was he sick or somethin'? Join the Jedi, why the kark would he say that?

She didn't even have to think it over more than a few seconds.

"You ain't goin' alone, Spike," she sassed, a hand on her hip. "An' dontcha even think you are. I've been meanin' to light out on my old man since he found my vis and tried to.. to..." her voice slipped a moment, nearly cracked. It still hurt to say. She had to cry and beg him to keep it. Music was her jam, that and friends. Without any of them, how could she keep her chill?

"I'm goin', even if you don't want me to," she shot out, then slid a glance at Penny. The girl was too good to not balk at the idea; 'course. She was just so presh and perfect. She snorted. "C'mon Red, college can still get done. We're only young once, y'all. I'm goin', you goin' too?" No doubt, no hesitation.

Not unlike her, really, she'd been meaning to find a reason to skip this place since she was fourteen. Ages ago, duh.

Enby followed along with her friends when Crix motion for them to follow, unusually quiet. Things felt off, even more off than the other day with the bike and the pointy-eared asshat. It all left her uncomfortable and uncharacteristically pensive. She'd pulled her hat down over her face and stuck her hands in her jacket pockets and trudged along behind the rest, lost in thought. She had a little bag of her own mostly consisting of cosmetics, paints, and snacks, since she was supposed to be hanging out with Willa after this stupid little trip to the spaceport. Crix talking brought her out of her reverie. She didn't immediately say anything, letting the words of everyone else fill the air.

One- no, two now. Two of her friends had decided to hop on a ship and wander off to find the magic space monks 'cause of powers or whatever. This was so stupid. Somewhere in the middle her skin started to shift from gold to silver until she turned to Penny. "Or worse, expelled! Shut up about it!" she snapped before turning back to Crix and pointing and accusatory finger at him. "And you! Y'think you're just gonna not tell us shit, fly off into space without us, and call it a day?" She was angry. Of course she was angry, she was hurt. Did Crix not trust them? Did he just want to leave them behind? What the f-

"For the record, I'm going. And if you tell me not to go, I'm gonna hit you," she informed him very matter-of-factly while jamming her finger into his chest, probably a little harder than she'd intended. Enby wasn't just angry, she was afraid that her friends, basically her family at this point, were going to leave her behind. Crix had already wandered off once and gotten off pretty lightly for all that as far as Enby was concerned. But she got angry instead of crying about it, even if a little bit of her mood crept into her voice. Willa and Crix were not gonna leave her behind. No way.

The Ortolan waved his stumpish arms up and down as if he was pumping up his anger to appear larger than his natural 5 foot 5 inches. He also kept hovering over the kneeling rodian, much to the frustration of the latter. "Back off long-nose!" Preef barked as he rose and pushed the Ortolan back two feet. "I know this is a restricted area, but I belong." He looked around and noticed too many witnesses in the distance drawn to the Ortolan's hissy fit. "Just forgot my credentials, is all." Preef shrugged theatrically, slapped his own forehead in the same way and the turned away from the Ortolan and quickly walked away from it.

Two minutes later he was in the main hall, brooding and considering his options. Kriff, if Marissa hadn't gone to an auciton on Teth she'd be able to think her way out of this one.. but instead Preef was all alone and left to his own devices.

"No, we just delivered-" the voice of a passing ship captain said, "-returning to Corellia empty." Rising from his bench, the rodian began following this captain and his companion, "Your captain a Wayfarer don't you?" the latter asked, further grabbing the interest of the rodian. A wayfarer would be perfect! The cargo he was supposed to.. acquire.. was stuck on a depot near the ranger HQ ruins and with a wayfarer he could just attach the container to the ship and leave the planet straight away. Perfect Well, almost.. he couldn't exactly both pilot the ship and control the grabbing mechanism.

Just when he got the Wayfarer-class Medium Transport in sight the high-pitched voices of a group of children interrupted his plans.

And you! Y'think you're just gonna not tell us shit, fly off into space without us, and call it a day?

Kriff, with kids coming this way and being so loud he'd never be able to sneak onboard and steal the ship. They had to be quiet! Wait, what did they say? Go off into space?

Suddenly presenting himself to the group of teenagers, him being only ten years their seniors but with the life he's lead looked at least fifteen year older, the rodian smiled fatherly and bowed. "Now now, kids-" he said, looking sternly at the last one that had spoken, the one with the magenta hair. "-this is a work-place. You have to be quiet around here." He ignored the fact that due to a landing bulk freighter roughly 200 feet away he actually had to raise his voice to make sure they would all be able to hear in the first place.

The fact that Penny had followed them was... nice, honestly it was, but it was also a little bit strange as well. As evidenced by her immediate response to him coming out with his idea to head off and run away to join the Jedi. It was cute that she was so worried about school and the like but he was kind of at the stage where school didn't matter to him. He was like, 80% sure he'd done better in his studies than his mom had and she had actually finished the whole damned school thing.

"I can't keep running around without a clue what I'm fecking doing, Penny."
he countered smoothly, grinning as he did so, "Besides - I'll make sure I do some online courses. As for why..."

He grimaced at Yo-Cho's question.

"Force Sensitives who do whatever they want go bad, Cho. And I'll be fecking damned if I end up as one of those red-stick waving metal-band rejects."
he explained, "This way I get to stay me. Just... cooler than any of you."

Winking at that last bit, he couldn't help but feel a little emotional when both Willa and Enby declared that they were coming with him. Swallowing against a lump in his throat (how did that get there?), he coughed slightly and looked off to one side. Without looking her caught Enby's hand as she pointed at him. Turning to face her, he swallowed again.

"I didn't want to drag you all off around the Galaxy just cus I got some space magic but I..."
he released her finger and shuffled slightly on the spot and whispered, "... but yeah I... I don't really wanna go alone either."

And then the Rodian showed up and Crix latched onto the stroke of luck without a second thought. He might not be an idiot but he was a teenage boy showing emotions to his friends and he was beginning to get embarrassed about being so soppy. Hell yeah he was going to jump at the chance to get out of the awkward area of 'feelings' and back on track to the actual goal.

"Ah yeah well... um, about that."
he grinned, projecting confidence as he did so, "Do you have need of a mechanic and hand on your ship, sir? I'm looking to get off planet and I don't mind pulling me weight at all! And ah... my friends... well some of them might be coming as well? But I can work double shifts to pay their way as well, sir."

Best to call a ship captain sir right? The dude looked like he had his own ship - he looked like a spacer through and through. How lucky could he get?

Everyone else seemed so certain of themselves. They all answered so quickly, with so much force behind their words. Penny normally couldn't decide what socks to wear without a twenty minute intervention, a pros and cons list, and a serious discussion with herself. His friends seemed... well, pushy about it too. One of the girls was nice about it, even if they were going straight for it. The other? Well..

"Why don't you shut it, two-tone? Just because you've got no future," Penny fired back, blushing again. She didn't know where the words came from, but she was already frustrated with everyone treating her like some baby just because she was trying to be sensible. Trying and failing.

When Crix talked to her, she met his gaze and found herself not concentrating. Your eyes are like, just so blue. She blinked a little and he'd already moved on, leaving her feeling strange about it all. She didn't want him to leave. Not when she'd actually, finally, kind-of introduced herself. He knew her name now, right?

Buuuuut he was already hitting up some kinda ship captain, offering his services like that. Can you even do that? It didn't sound that clever of an idea... if anything in this crazy scheme could be called clever. And even though she didn't particularly want to be heading out there herself, if Crix needed some help, she knew she'd give it, for some reason. Don't ask. Shut up. It's nothing.

Penny looked around and saw some of the boxes, crates and assorted things being loaded, carted and placed all around the spaceport, especially close to these big transports. "Uh... we could always do some loading for these smaller boxes?" Somewhere, in Penny's mind, was the idea that they could easily fit one or two of them into a box and smuggle them aboard. What happened when they inevitably would be found out, halfway to Monster Planet, Space Monk World or Lawless Scumhole, could be dealt with later. Besides, Penny wouldn't be with them. Right!? Right!?!

I am going to be in so much trouble for this. I am so dead.

"Doubt" The teenager muttered under his breath and crossed his arms. It wasn't a very convincing argument. But it seemed like the young Zabrak was set to leave regardless. After saying his part and approaching a shady Rodian Riyocho followed. He still had yet to decide if he would come back at some point. This way he could probably at least make sure his friends were okay.

Aside from the Pantoran, Riyocho wondered how many had traveled long distance on the hyperlanes. "I don't need charity." He said and looked towards the Rodian. "I'll work for my own spot." A blue thumb with golden nail polish pointed towards himself for emphasis. The young Pantoran took a few steps closer, getting past Enby and Willa and more towards the Rodian.

She stared at the Rodian with a cold, disdainful expression only a teenager could give. A slow, up and down stare that clearly spoke, really? All the spacers in the galaxy, and you choose this shady guy? Seemed like Crix was desperate to do anything to pay his way out of here... and she could appreciate the gesture. Slinging an arm over his shoulders, and wrapping an arm around Enby's waist to drag her with her, she sauntered along.

"Come oooon Red, stop gawking at the pretty people. You in or out, doll?" She perked a brow at Penny, full lips twitching on a smile. "We ain't gonna sit around, come with us. We need someone smart, yeah?" Some might have found her friendliness and moodiness off-putting, but she really meant well.

She really did try to get along with her group after all. But hearing what peeps were willing to do to get a spot... she shrugged.

"Eh. Whatev. I'll probably do some useful shiii---er, stuff," she commented lazily, releasing her friends and staring the adult down. "Where ya headin'?"

Might as well get the big questions out first.

Enby clicked her tongue in irritation at Crix but retracted her finger nonetheless, hands firmly planted on hips. She heard him just fine, muttering "Yeah well you're stupid," quietly to herself and crossing her arms. Stupid Zabrak boy and his stupid magic and his stupid thoughts and his stupid face. She was distracted from Penny's red-faced retort by a combination of the Rodian showing up and Willa pulling her by the waist.

Enby's skin shifted back to the gold but her eyes narrowed at the Rodian's appearance, looking him up and down. She wondered if he was aware he this was a spaceport and not an office but kept her sass to herself for once. Apparently this dude's ship was the one Crix, almighty and fearsome leader that he was, had decided to go on. Which meant that Enby was going with them.

"I'm in. I can handle computers, piloting, and lifting," she informed the Rodian shortly, lips already tightening. Enby was expecting the annoyingly common assumption she couldn't handle heavy physical activity because of her size. "Whatever gets us off Coruscant."

The teenagers were especially eager to work for him.. or rather, on his ship.. the one he didn't have. Now, Preef wasn't a very good thinker, but he was somewhat quick on his feet and had watched Marissa being smart countless of times. Surely he could channel some of her brilliance?

"Hmmmm," the rodian appeared to mull things over, "that's a lot of extra mouths to feed." But then there was no denying that this was an opportunity too good to let pass. "Well, alright. I can get you all the way to Corellia." as that was the wayfarer's destination and a short journey anyway, there would be enough foodstuffs for his new crew. All that was left now was to get rid of the captain and his crewmate. Short-haul transports like these only kept to minimum crews and that meant that aside from the captain there was only one other person onboard.

Preef approached Crix and gently placed his left hand on the youth's shoulder to appear as trustworthy as say a big brother. "You see that human over there?" he gestured towards the captain of the wayfarer, "Port authority needs to see him." Coincidently their office was situated on the other end of the spaceport. "You and your friends go tell him and then meet me back at the ship, it's-" he turned his head towards the Wayfarer, "-that one."

Assuming the teenagers would keep the captain busy and send him off, Preef used the distraction to walk onto the ship as if he belonged. The second he was inside and out of sight of the teens he started rushing, "Hello?" he called out, "Hello?" This time he heard footsteps approaching, "Oi who are you? Where's the cap?" The blaster was out before the mechanic fully realized what was going on, "Shhh," the rodian motioned for the mechanic to enter the cargo bay and under the threat of lethal force the latter complied. "What's in those crates? Oh it doesn't really matter."

The stun bolt wasn't loud enough to be heard outside of the ship, nor were Preef's grunts as he pushed and pulled the mechanic's unconscious body into an empty crate and sealed it with a passcode. Once done he re-holstered his pistol and made his way towards the cockpit. This was the hard part, surely - hopefully those kids wouldn't ruin the easy part.

Did he manage to beat Penny's objections just by looking her in the eye? Cus the way she just kind of stared into his eyes like that kind of made him feel like he had and he wasn't entirely sure how to feel about that. He hadn't done that mind trick thing without meaning to had he? Could people mind-control people with the Force without training and only a vague idea that it was even possible?

He wanted to say no but that meant she looked into his eyes and agreed with him after that for some other reason... which could be something he'd think about later. As much as being able to convince someone just by looking into their eyes was cool and made his heart kind of jump a bit, there was something more important to get moving.

And Enby had a point - he was being stupid.

But it beat staying on Coruscant until he 'gave into the Dark Side' or whatever. That the Rodian captain could get them all the way to Corellia was encouraging - from there they could get to pretty much anywhere in the Galaxy. Coruscant was a lot more restrictive than the shipyard planet.

The hand on his shoulder felt a little bit off to him but Crix just chalked it up to him being nervous about the whole thing. He wasn't really sure what counted as a Force-feeling or just a regular-feeling at this point.

"Yeah no problem."
he assured the Rodian, "Happy to help out."

He waved for his friends to follow him as he went over to the human that had been pointed out to him. Did he need all of his friends to convince the human to get going? Hell no. He smiled guilelessly at the human captain.

"Um excuse me? Sorry but it's my first day working here - Port authority sent me to say they needed to chat to you?"

The human rolled his eyes and sighed before wandering off toward the port authority. As soon as he was out of earshot he grimaced a little bit.

"... show of hands here guys, who sus is the rodian really?"
he ran a hand over his face, "Cus I'm thinking he's kind of sketch but still our best shot without spending a lot of credits we ain't got."

Having credits would have made this whole thing a lot easier.

Okay, Corellia. Corellia's not that far. I have an... aunt on Corellia I think? Or is that Commenor? I wish I could just ask Mom. That'd be the stupidest thing I've ever done though.

Penny, being Penny, was easily lead by a compliment and a confident voice. Something about how Willa talked made it all feel... a little bit fun. Like an adventure. Something they might see on a vid or at the movies and it'd all end with a confident, cooler Penny and a boy in a leather pilot's jacket and...

Are you kidding yourself? If that's anyone, it'll be Willa. Or maybe Two-Tone. Not you.

She did not trust that sleazy spacer though. Naive as she was, even Penny could work out that there was just a little bit too much eagerness to have them all aboard. What, the five of them suddenly weren't mouths to feed anymore? Plus, he was a stranger and you know what they're like. She raised her hand the second that Crix finished his question.

"I don't trust him and I think we'd be stupid to listen to him. Even if he can get us- I mean, you guys, I mean... if he could get any of us off-world."
She peered back at the ship, frowning slightly. An idea came to her.

"We could check what he's hauling? I mean, it can't be that hard? He's only one guy and there's five of us. Since you're so persuasive," Penny said as she looked at Crix, totally unclear whether she was being flirty or just sarcastic. "If he's carrying droid parts or food or whatever, we know he's on the level? But if he's carrying like... uh, smuggled pets or spice or um... I don't know, the crown jewels of Naboo, then we can ah..." Penny stumbled, trying quickly to think of what they could do. Um... ah... hit him? Scream "fire?" Let Crix do some weird Jedi-monk thing?

"C... call your mom?" she finally said, in the lamest possible way imaginable.

Riyocho watched the green hose faced Rodian talk to his Zabrak peer. The whole thing just seemed sketchy but the youth didn't get a sense of actual danger. Just that this was probably a bad idea. As he thought about it, the edges of his face curled a little. Part of his adolescent mind just liked being a rebel for the sake of it. It was thrilling.

With the directions given by the Rodian, Riyo stuffed his hands in his pockets and watched Crix and Penny walk off towards the captain of the wayfarer. But they didn't need a squad of kids to do that. Instead of protesting, he just didn't listen and instead followed the Rodian. Maybe I can pick my rack first...or maybe he'll just tell me to start lifting stuff. Eh, not like I was going to do anything else today besides goof off He walked around the outside of the wayfarer a little at first, checking it out for himself.

By the time the Pantoran heard a zap sound his brow furrowed at the bottom of the loading ramp for the ship. The kid had never been in a fire fight and wasn't a seasoned marksman. So he had no idea there was an unconscious body in the ship. Walking up into the ship the teenager saw the Rodian's fingers leave his holstered blaster. The golden eyes glanced at the weapon. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea that he had followed the Rodian alone. "Who were you talking to?" The pantoran flicked his eyes about, wondering if he had just likely missed a comlink. Were there more crew members onboard that were already under the Rodian's employ?

Well, so much for anyone listenin' to her, sheesh.

She sighed, sauntering away. Let Crix handle leading on the big oaf of a human lumbering around, she was only gonna get in the way anyway.

She was gonna hang with Riyu for a little bit. He was cute for a shawty anyways.

"Hey kids!" she piped up, stepping through the ship. "Lovely bit 'o kit ya got here. I'm wonderin' where we all are gonna sleep, not that I mind sharin' beds--" she continued, following the voices.

Hearing Riyu ask about voices though, she flicked her eyes to the Rodian adult. Something still prickled at the back of her mind.
"Something up?" she asked cockily, tilting her head, cocking out her hip and crossing her arms under her bust, her gaze stern, assessing the two.

Somethin' might be up. Or maybe it was just that she was still hungry.

Enby's eyes narrowed even further as the Rodian spoke. This honestly sounded like some kind of prank or scam, but she didn't say anything. It was a way off Coruscant and Crix seemed to be rolling with it, so whatever. Fine. She followed Crix and Penny over to the guy, less than surprised Crix so easily sent the guy off. The Zabrak boy had that kinda trustworthy face.

Enby quickly raised her hand in response to Crix's question.
"Sus as kark, my dude. He didn't even ask for money." The young woman seriously doubted a random spacer they just happened to come across was just nice enough to transport a gaggle of teens to Corellia for free. 'Course she could just be jumping to conclusions, but something felt off about the whole thing that she couldn't quite narrow down.

"Girl, his mom would kill us. No way. Just hit him really hard, it'll be fine," she replied to Penny's suggestion, waving it off. Enby was confident enough that she could handle some skeezy spacer just fine, it wouldn't be the first time. They were usually more bark than bite anyway.

She turned around, noticing Willa and Riyocho had followed the Rodian to the ship.
"C'mon, let's check out the ride. Looks like a damn space bus."

The teen showing up in the ship that fast startled Preef a bit, but it quickly turned to indignation. "If you're this bad at following directions you can get the kriff off my ship!" he said sternly to the Pantoran, who seemed too much of a wise ass to survive even a single day outside of his sheltered environment. Following a gunslinger on Nar Shaddaa against directions? That would get the entire group either shot or enslaved to the Hutts, no questions asked and no compensation paid to the parents. Then one of the young humans showed up as well and Preef could only shake his head in disappointment. Ever since he left the Crimson Dawn he'd become less concerned with loose ends, opting for the more life-sparing approach he didn't adhere to when he was a teenager himself. Then again, when he was their age he had already robbed several homesteads on frontier worlds and maybe shooting one or two would let the reality sink in for the others: 'It's stupid to abandon a life of privilege'. The rest of the galaxy couldn't afford schooling and definitely not the kind of schooling that had field trips to spaceports.

Too bad he needed them to operate the cargo handler and pick up that container. "Gather your friends and tell that Zabrak to meet me in the cockpit." he told the Pantoran. With teenagers this bent on being suspicious little shits, Preef knew he had to keep alert and not rule out the possibility of having to shoot them if they decided to meddle in his business.

Without another word, or indeed a reply to their questions, the rodian made his way to the cockpit and locked himself in, only opening the door for Crix to join him. Pre-flight checks were a tedious business, but if you didn't take it too narrow with the regulations it was something even an uneducated rodian could finish before the Zabrak joined him. Add in another twenty seconds and they'd take off. He'd tell the kid the plan while flying over to the ruins of the ranger HQ.

Their Rodian captain buddy was hella sus but that was no reason to go acting all crazy. As far as Crix was concerned, they needed someone who was kind of sus because they, themselves, were hella sus. They were underage kids trying to bum a ride to literally any corner of the Galaxy. He grimaced a little bit at the suggestions from Enby and Penny both.

"To be fair..."
he shrugged, "We're hella sus too. Random groups of sexy teens don't tend to have good reasons to illegally leave a planet and not care about the destination."

Of course then another issues cropped up.

"... where'd Willa and Yo-Cho go?"

Knowing those two they were probably sticking their noses into something they ought not to be. Force knew he loved them for that exact reason but it had been known to get them in trouble in the past and he'd like to avoid needing to find another pilot. This one might be sus but he wasn't asking awkwardly pointed questions.

He caught the tail end of what Preef said before grinning. His grin faltered slightly as he sighed and looked around at the group.

"I probably shouldn't help fly - who wants to give it a shot?"
he would ask before making his way up to the cockpit and knocking on the door, "Um Captain my friend is probably a better pick for anything related to piloting. I have a history of, um, crashing. A lot."

Sexy teens? Penny looked down at herself, dressed in a Coruscant Museum of Hyperspace Travel hoodie and a pair of comfy pants she'd had for over a year. That was either a joke or Crix had a very particular idea about sexiness.

Or he doesn't mean me. Course he doesn't mean me. He's probably way into one of the other girls. The cool girls.

Crix knocked on the door and asked for piloting help. Penny shook her head instantly. "Not it. Not me," she said, the fear evident in her voice. She'd crash the thing ten times over before it got out of the port. "Aren't you guys like... hotshot swoop bikers? It's the same principle behind it, right? Just like... bigger controls!" She pointed towards Enby, who would clearly be so much better than her, or at least much more eager to give it a go.

"I'm just gonna go hang," she said, trying to sound cooler than she ever could. Still blushing hard as she waved, turning towards the rest of the ship. She was gonna find something suspicious, she just knew it. She had that feeling, that instinct, and that'd never lead her astray before. Part of her wondered whether she should just leave the ship and let them get on with whatever super-stupid ideas they had... but she wanted to be proved right. She wanted the others to know just how stupid an idea this all was.

Checking around for the Rodian, or any nosy crew, she headed towards the container. Searching around for anything that might open it, or give her a clue what was inside.
