  • 1x nose-mounted light ion cannon.

EQUIPMENT

DESCRIPTION
One might think the Prelaar Heavy Starbomber was designed to fire massive amounts of missiles in an overwhelming barrage. But this is only one of the reasons for the starbomber's design. Capable of holding up to a total of fifty warheads, the Prelaar's strength is its unending reliability.

Crewed by a pilot and co-pilot, the Prelaar starbomber was made to assure its capability of reaching its target. While it possesses a class 2 primary hyperdrive and even a backup hyperdrive, the need to fly sublight is sometimes overlooked in this day and age. Thus the carrying capacity of the starbomber is slightly increased for a small crew. Furthermore, crews can survive for a standard month on average with onboard supplies and fuel.

The medium deflector screen generator and added armor keep the starbomber in fighting shape and also protect its payload until it's in range of its target. Still far more maneuverable and faster than most civilian ships, the Prelaar can still be outmaneuvered by fast attack craft. Therefore it can rely heavily on carrier vessels or smaller and faster ships to keep enemy starfighters from focusing on them.

One benefit to the Prelaar's design is its versatility. A mix of concussion missiles and proton torpedoes is the most common compliment for the heavy starbomber. This way it can make even a capital ship or land forces think twice before engaging a few of these crafts. The Prelaar is far from the end-all, be-all star bomber and has somewhat of a niche but an effective place in the Mandalorian fleet. Its reliability and redundancies make it an ideal choice for armor-clad pilots.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Prelaar class are starbombers, and they are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
To expand on the Mandalorian's arsenal of tech with their own proprietary ships as the Mandalorians are utilizing shipyards, adding to the Mandalorian's fleet.

RESTRICTIONS
Yes. Ownership of a vessel of this type is restricted to the Mandalorian faction in this case unless otherwise acquired through a thread.

Huge thank you @Darasuum for helping make this ship!

Moved back to Unapproved based on some observations by the other staff.

So, there are some issues with this ship. They mostly stem from the fact that the Itano Circus has decided to visit a Galaxy Far Far Away in the form of a Mandalorian starbomber. Unfortunately, as pretty much every missile and torpedo listed in the specs can be visually identified, I don't think reducing that is going to work.

So.

For one, I'd like the top speed of this ship to be reduced to 70 MGLT. Given how loaded down this thing is, I think that's reasonable.

For two, I'd like the reinforced armor removed. That is, unless you are willing to forgo shields entirely.

Also, not gonna lie, I'm a bit leery of all this new Mandalorian stuff showing up so quickly. I would prefer if you staggered it out over a longer period of time, rather than dropping it on us all at once. Bear in mind, the Mandalorians don't have nearly the shipbuilding capacity of the other factions right now.
