DESCRIPTION
The Aggressive ReConnaissance-180, better known as the ARC-180 or the Convor (a species of owl from Wasskah), is a multi-role heavy starfighter manufactured by the Sublight Products Corporation, better known as Subpro. Based on the original ARC-170 of Clone Wars vintage, a design Subpro worked on with Incom, this fighter follows on Subpro's Z-98 Gazarant, an update of the old Z-95 Headhunter, another Incom-Subpro joint venture.

The ARC-180 Convor incorporates many features of the original, but has been heavily modernized, using contemporary components to reduce manufacturing cost and simplify upkeep while retaining the durability and firepower of the original. Slightly shorter at 12.5 meters in length, the Convor has the same crew compliment as the ARC-170, including a pilot, copilot/gunner and rear gunner. The astromech droid required in the original design has been deleted, replaced by a conventional navicomputer. Armament is nearly the same, including 2 wing-mounted heavy laser cannons, each with a coaxial medium ion cannon. There is also an aft-mounted light laser ball turret, meant for fending off pursuing enemies, as well as a pair of 4-shot torpedo launchers. Like the original, the Convor is capable of 100 MGLT, but has only average maneuverability.

Sold alongside the Z-98 Gazarant, the ARC-180 Convor is primarily intended to compete with offerings from the likes of Koensayr Manufacturing, such as the Y-Wing series. Time will tell if the effort is successful, however initial sales figures are promising.

LEGALITY
Restricted. ARC-180 Convor is a starfighter, and is subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
To create and updated version of a classic starfighter.
