Just jump in. I did the battle of Naboo with Force Speed as only skill and even though I lost my battle with a Sith, it was a tremendous addition to my character's story.

Well for now it is a lack of experience that hampers him. He isn't going to just jump into something as it goes against the character. He could be reasonably dragged along but he wouldn't dive in head first on his own without training.

Then devise a way for him to be dragged into the fun ;-) Possibilities are endless.

A young padawan that isn't impulsive and headstrong? Lol wut? Jumping in head f first is the spice of life :3
