All the SWRP I've ever done has been either Old Republic or Legends/Legacy, Disney hasn't stopped me yet. But more to the point, you can see the EU's influence on new canon; Finn and Rey = Jacen and Jaina for example, it's not exact but it's almost like the EU still exists in spirit.

I'll admit I did felt sadden with the loss of the stories involving Thrawn, Revan, and Darth Bane. Also the X-Wing series and the Legacy comics. Yet I'm glad they got rid of what I would call questionable stuff such as the Vong series.

I miss the old EU, especially the Thrawn Trilogy, Crimson Empire, and Dark Empire. But I accept the new canon as an opportunity to add new stories to the universe, Disney just better not screw it up.
