Yeah... the final book isn't that great, is it?

It was great right up until the last few chapters. Eragon could've made a completely different choice.

Not with the story that Chris wanted to tell. He wanted Eragon to have some where he could set up the riders and be free of everyone. Also he wanted to make sure that if wrote in that world again that he could tell any story without Eragon being in the way.

He had the name of the ancient language! He could have easily gone to Vroengard and healed the land. Alas, twas not to be.
