They've existed for a while. I remember them in TOR I'm pretty sure.

That doesn't mean they're in this timeline, dude. TOR is still Legends canon, even though it's still ongoing.

Akk dogs or trained Kath hounds would be your best bet. Technically they don't really exist this timeline either though. But I think they just generally didn't want vornskrs the same as they didn't want ysalimiri, although ysalimiri were more gamebreaking.
