Pollock, it's like the chicken of the seafood world (my opinion). Used a great deal in frozen and fast food. Truthfully if you can't eat something like that, you might not be ready for the good stuff like Sushi.
I did buy a thing of frozen fish sticks, so that's obviously gonna be my starting point, but I'm looking for things like Salmon, Flounder, Cod, etc. The kind of fish I work with raw.
Like I said, I know the technical aspects, Fresh vs Frozen, the different types of Salmon and all that, just never ate any of it.
I might try cod. I'll probably go to a resturant sometime and order something.
My personal favorite is fried Catfish, but I'm a country bumpkin so :P
Cod isn't very "fishy" and is used in lots of things like fish sammiches and fish sticks and such. I prefer white fish, Walleye, Bass, Cod, Tillapia, Flounder. Don't like salmon very much.
I'm gonna have to go with Marf and Penn there lol, I don't like seafood very much but I do really like shrimp and smoked salmon. Too bad salmon is usually quite expensive, it's delicious though!
Wow, didn't expect to have 14 notifications when I logged on. Right. So salmon seems like a love or hate, so I might try that second.
@RedneckLoves I work with catfish, typically farm raised, and was thinking about trying it sometime. So it's on my radar now.
@Nor'baal Herring isn't really something I see fresh often, I don't know if it's cause maybe it's a british thing, but I don't see it often in my store.
