Depends on the space naval combat. Full on fleet battles are extremely rare, it's much more common to see dogfighting PCs to PCs. Even still, space battle isn't enjoyed by most people (myself and @Korvo excluded!) so it's still rare.

I'm just the kind of person who values strategy over brute force, and therefore like naval and NPC battles (despite not having participating in any :( )

difficult because there is only relative orientation and since star wars is not truly science fiction it can be tricky. But I enjoyed it the few times I did it.

Starfighter v. Starfighter combat has been the most common form of space combat this TL so far, though not many like and/or understand how to go about. Personally, it's one of the forms of PvP I actually like and enjoy.

Tactical battles will be for land warfare, and they'll be seen a lot more often in the coming future than naval.
