It seems everyone's fine with Leritor. Nobody said, "Man, screw Leritor, We should have our base on Kamino!"
EDIT: Plus Leritor sounds really cool to say.
@AchillesHell Prophet just said he was working on a grand Write-up of everything we've got so far.
Also, Sorry for being MIA, Life got busy for a few days. I have the basics for both of my characters worked out, I wanted Aubriel to be raised within the Fulcrum, and I imagined Jinbei being a...
@Tsunami Ah you see, we're all very much in disagreement with the Jedi and Sith Philosophies, which is the main reason we're separate from them in the first place, so I doubt we'll be answering any calls to action in assistance to either group. But it's not too far fetched to have your Jedi run...
Well specific character names I have Jinbei Osakai, who I created as a sort of older, more experienced character, and I'll be revamping Aubriel Lysan as well. I aim for both to be in the Fulcrum. I figured Jinbei to be a Sage, while Aubriel a Venator, though I may start with Jinbei as a Venator...
Oh that reminds me those of you who intend to join the group, hit up @Outlander 's Indie registration thread and tell him you're joining up. Which in turn reminds me that I should request him to update the group name... have we decided on Fulcrum?
Whelp it looks like things have progressed nicely from when I last checked in. I like the new titles you came up with @The Prophet. If it wasn't 2am right now I'd go through everything and redraft the Code of Balance. Perhaps tomorrow.
I like the Cosmic Order, it's more concise. Also, I really think we should try to find a word that isn't "Knight" for our members. The Jedi already use that. I'd be okay with using sibling titles, Brother/Sister. With the rank of Adept or what-have-you as an alternative, perhaps more of a formal...
Rank does however serve to impose limits on characters to prevent power playing, making sure that Padawans aren't masters of three saber styles for no reason, or that they know ALL of the force moves.
Can we please avoid the Rank conversation again? We already spent a lot of time on it.
Perfect. That's the one. [/sarcasm]
I was thinking something along the lines of the core of our Philosophy: Balance. Agents of Balance, Emissaries of Harmony, something along those lines. Acquisition of knowledge and artifacts are our main goals, not taking down the Jedi and Sith by force. The...
I don't think any of those names really capture the essence of the group, they all sound too sinister and clandestine. Balanced Force, maybe, but that sounds more like the name of the philosophy that they follow, rather than of the group itself.
... Maybe try reading the thread? We've taken to calling them Templars instead of Jedi. As a Temporary title. Someone had mentioned they wanted a different one because Grey Templar sounds a bit bland.
It's not like it's be a rigid heirarchy and I'm glad that you have confidence in our abilities.[/sarcasm]
@Outlander, do you have any intent on having one of your characters joining this group?
I guess maybe it's because I'm thinking of the group as having been established for a while, a decade or so. We can take a vote and see where people stand, do we want it to be the founding few or have been established for a while?
They're not like military ranks, I already said, they're a way to acknowledge how much that individual has learned and how much they have to teach. Plus, if we're expecting to go up against Jedi and Sith, not in a war, just because we're trying to take their stuff, it's good to know how to match...
I don't see why ranks and structure is a Pitfall. Structure is good. Ranks help keep things orderly. @Outlander, explain to me why ranks feel like a pitfall to you, help me see your point of view.
I mean, it can be that they started out that way. A group of Jedi and Sith going against their orders with a common purpose but no leadership, but as they run into complications with this system, members going their own way, or two Grey's going after the same target and getting in eachother's...
For exactly the reason I just said, lack of leadership means there's nobody to hold everything together. Everyone will end up going their separate ways within a few threads.
I think we're divided on what we were thinking when we came into this. I don't much care for the wandering group of turncoats thing. It doesn't feel like something that can last. I've read in other threads about groups starting and dissolving within a week. And the whole casual ronin thing...
