Excellent choice! I love Canadian whisky but it's not the easiest to get a hold of in the UK so I make sure I buy it whenever I go home. I missed out on the Northern Harvest when it first came out because it was all sold out and I was heading back to the UK so I picked some up in June. Good stuff.
My favourite beer has to be Alexander Keith's IPA which is a Canadian beer and hard to get outside of Canada which sucks because I currently live in the UK. I also really like Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc (the regular 1664 is also good) because it is very light and has a citrus flavour to it which...
@Kiro @Clayton Any comments for this? I can't start rping until I get this approved as it's essential for my character to survive on certain worlds and it's been almost a week with no response at all.
I've read all of the Song of Ice and Fire books that have been published so far. I go through books very quickly as in a day or two if I'm really into it. I'll look into Proxima though.
If you want a Fantasy/ Sci fi type one that is more grounded in reality with technology you can accept the Safehold series by David Weber is a really good one. It's about Humanity on a hidden world after they were almost wiped out by an alien race. They've gone back to pre-industrial technology...
Just wondering if anyone has any good Sci Fi or Fantasy books they are reading or have read and would recommend?
I am currently reading several series and waiting for the next book to be released so I am looking for something to pick up in the meantime. Lately I've read a lot of the Honor...
I think the first game I ever played on PC was Cross Country Canada. You were a trucker and had to deliver different things across Canada and you played by typing in instructions but they had to be really specific.
I've enjoyed it so far but I haven't been playing that long and still getting a feel for it. My empire isn't that large yet but I feel like it could get a bit overwhelming on a large or huge maps as your empire expands because you would have so many fleets, science ships, and construction to...
I used to rp Star Wars when I was in university but since starting teaching have found it difficult in the first few years to get back into it. Now that I'm on summer holiday I have some time to get all the development work done so that I will have time in the school year. I also found this site...
Yeah the political turmoil is definitely an interesting one to compare. Although I think that the military expeditions don't quite compare. The British campaign at Galipoli was more about strategic implications and supply routes to Russia whereas Athens was more about imperialism.
Armour updated. @Kiro or @Clayton do you mind taking a look at this armour and letting me know if I need to make further changes please? I need to get this armour approved before I can start rping as it is essential for my character.
In some ways you could argue that they are somewhat similar although I would argue that Athens never really had the same dominance that the British Empire did. Athens had Sparta as a rival for its power during its time of major power while the British Empire had France for a time as its rival...
Tough question. I teach a lot about the Classical Greek and Roman periods so I quite like those but I've also always been really interested the Napoleonic era and WW2. You?
