DESCRIPTION
The A-24 Sleuth scout ship is a fast, relatively stealthy reconnaissance spacecraft which was originally manufactured by the Incom Corporation prior to its nationalization by the Galactic Empire, although production resumed at secret Rebel and later New Republic factories during and after the Galactic Civil War. Regarded as one of the finest ships of its kind ever built, it maintains a devoted following to this day.

First developed during the Clone Wars to equip Republic forward recon squadrons operating deep inside the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the A-24 Sleuth went on to serve a similar role with the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Supplied to the Rebels through back channels by Incom, the A-24 was a sleek, compact ship, 14 meters in length with space for a pilot and single passenger. Capable of 80 MGLT and maneuverability comparable to a starfighter, it was equipped with dual laser cannons, shields, and most importantly, a high-resolution sensor suite for gathering high quality information on its targets. In addition to being used to spy on Confederate and later Imperial fleet movements, the type was often used to ferry VIPs to and from blockaded planets, or to deliver small, high-value cargoes. At all of these roles, the A-24 excelled, being reportedly a joy to fly under any circumstances.

In the present day, A-24s can still be found in service with various militaries and mercenary groups.

LEGALITY
Legal. Scout ships such as the Sleuth are considered innocuous enough under most jurisdictions, and are not restricted in most systems.

INTENT
To bring a vessel from Legends into our site's fanon.
