Amun had just finished a string of jobs near the edge of the Northeastern section of Imperial space. He had been nervous about it at first, working that close to the Empire, but the credits had outweighed the risk. After a few jobs well done he had decided to reward himself on the way home. The Whisper's Deliverance was safe in port and his gear had a nice little home tucked away in the floorboards of the small room he had rented on the outskirts of a beach resort city on Spira.

It was with a little spending money in his pocket that Amun had hit the boardwalks of the city He had decided that his usual black on black on black clothing wouldn't blend in very well in Spira's warm weather and had opted to wear something he had picked up at a local boutique before heading out to catch the sunrise as it rose over the sea. Personally, he thought he looked ridiculous. Everyone else was dressed similarly though, blending in... check. Instead of the array of weapons and armor he had become accustomed to, Amun instead came equipped with a sketchbook and a pack of colored pencils that he had also bought on Spira, deciding to take someone's advice about not letting anything take his hobbies from him. He wasn't entirely unarmed however, two small knives were tucked into his clothes where they were concealed but easily reachable, just in case.

It was there, on a boardwalk bench that overlooked the cresting waves that washed against the sandy shores of the resort city that Amun sat, holding a pencil up against the horizon to measure before committing his sunrise art to paper. It was a rough drawing, he was beyond rusty having not picked up a pencil since Junction. Everything had changed that day and he had had to abandon a lot. His hear was dyed black, something that he kept up every couple of days to prevent the white roots from showing through. The Crimson Dawn had done some mild facial reconstruction on him so that the Empire couldn't track his face. Only his eyes remained the same silver, though he had begun to debate wearing colored contacts as well for safety.

With the traumatic events of Berchest still in his memory, Ezra was pleased when they had holidays and his family opted for a vacation on Spira. All the Padawans that had involved families were home away from the temple and Ezra was no different. He often did best when he took some space away from things that bothered him, and this vacation provided just that.

Ezra’s family members were all off doing different things and he decided to wander off to partake in one of his hobbies. He couldn’t find a sailboat to his liking, but he decided a hobiecat would do for a fun little outing. Ezra wore a button down that was open down the front, along with some swimming shorts and sandals. The Emryc Thorne routine was certainly helping in how sculpted his torso appeared these days. His eyes were hidden behind shades, his hair styled in that casual, messy and just got out of bed look.

He was spotted slowly dragging the boat out towards the shallow water, not seeing the person on the bench just yet. Few people were out at this time of day and it was just the way he liked it.

Amun had just finished catching the glow of the sunrise in his sketch and starting on the beach when a lone figure apeared, dragging a small windsail craft down to the water. A small frown grew on his face for a moment as he looked from his sketch and back to the landscape. There was... something familiar about the person who had interrupted his artistic process.

With a shrug, he started to sketch the figure in to the drawing, sail-craft and all. There was a moment that Amun caught in his eye and set about putting it on the page, a rough sketch that he laid down quickly before the man moved too much. He could always elaborate on the details later. It was only after a few moments of sketching that the nagging feeling that he had met the man before grew larger in his mind.

He paused, touching the backend of his pencil to his chin as he thought. The man didn't appear to be a Sith, which narrowed it down considerably. Letting his curiosity get the better of him, Amun made a few more quick lines on his sketch, notated colors lightly and then closed the book to put it under his arm as he stood up.

Walking down the beach and towards the man, he could feel the sand getting into his sandals. He never was much for sand, growing up on Coruscant. Still, there was a peacefulness to the early morning on the beach.

There is no peace.

His brow furrowed for a moment as the thought seared itself across his mind and his back itched with pained memory. He shook his head. Perhaps there was no peace, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the stillness. The calm before the storm. There would always be a storm somewhere on the horizon.

Ezra was undoing some ropes when another figure began to approach him. The part Sephi despised interacting with strangers and pretended not to notice anyone at first. He kept on with what he was doing until the other guy stood near him. Ezra turned to stare at him, wondering if he was going to have to make a quip to tell him to fuck off. However, there was something oddly familiar about him - especially the eyes.

“What do you want?” He asked curtly, not entirely placing him just yet. Ezra’s gaze flicked down to the sketch book under his arm and then back to the silvers that stared at him.

Amun had managed to banish the unwanted thoughts from his head by the time he reached the water. He wasn't quite sure why he had decided to approach the man, which was a problem to him. Taking actions that he was uncertain of, that he hadn't deliberated and committed to. Had his time away from the Sith weakened him so already.

He came to a stop as the guy noticed him. He stayed silent for a moment as he considered his memories of Coruscant and the person in front of him. His eyes fell to the kyber crystal necklace that he wore. Yep. Definitely him.

"Thought you looked familiar, wanted to see if I was right. You are that asshole from Coruscant." Amun said with a laugh before turning and starting to walk back up to the bench. His curiosity had been sated and he wondered why he had even cut his sketching short just to check. Still, there was something that bothered him about the guy. Glancing towards the horizon he clicked his tongue in disappointment, the sunrise was fading.

Ezra scoffed, “You’ll have to be more specific, I get that a lot,” He said breezily, "What, did I forget to call you back or something?"Insults from strangers usually rolled off his shoulders. He went back to his Hobiecat, starting to drag it out into the water. The water was up to his calves when he paused briefly. Ezra tilted his shades to lift them from his eyes, glancing back at the guy that addressed him. He imagined a bunch of blood on the face and it slowly began to piece together.

“Oh you’re that rioter,” He said, unimpressed, “Please don’t start fucking shit up here,” He said, jutting his chin towards the peaceful and nice beach around them.

"Yeah, I bet you do." Amun said with a smirk after looking the guy up and down for a moment with an appraising eye. The guy was an ass, but he had a nice looking one.

It seemed they were about to part ways when he was finally recognized, even through everything he had done to change that.

"Do I look like I'm here to fuck shit up?" He asked, sort of gesturing to all of his lame beach clothes wearing, sketchpad carrying self. Clearly he was here to enjoy himself the same as everyone else. He looked at the guy for a moment with a small smirk forming on his face. "Besides, I wouldn't dare fuck anyone up with you around to help them up Medpac."

Ezra shrugged, “Last time all you fucked up was your own face, so maybe this will be a real attempt,” He said, pausing when the guy called him Medpac. Ezra’s brows rose at that and he calmly stared at the boy, “Still mad I didn’t leave you to your peaceful nap in the alley?” He snickered a bit before he tugged the boat out further. He was here to get some sailing in, and he would do just that.

Without another word, Ezra hopped on the Hobiecat and took it out into the water. If the Sith watched, he would soon learn that Ezra completely knew what he was doing on the water. The hobiecat tilted almost vertically with Ezra standing on one of the hulls, effortlessly leaning and controlling the boat. It was difficult to say whether he was showing off or genuinely just having fun - perhaps both. He coasted along for a while, catching waves and taking the boat far out into the distance till he was almost invisible.

After some time, Ezra finally returned to the beach. He was soaked, the dress shirt clinging to his body and his hair drenched. He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair, dragging the boat back into the sand.

Amun glowered for a moment at the guy's comment on fucking up his face and nothing else. The security officer he had likely killed that night probably would disagree, but he wasn't about to go bragging about that.

"Hey, I was about to get the best sleep of my life if it weren't for you." He shot back, something between a morbid joke and maybe something close to admitting that the guy had saved his ass. Of course he was saying it to the back of his head as he pulled the hobiecat out into the water and took off.

Amun stood there for a moment in silence as the water started to lap at his feet. He kicked sand for a moment before pulling the sketchpad back out, capturing a few moments of the guy sailing with some quick lines before retreating back away from the tide. Sitting down, he set about bringing some of the scenes to life.

Some time passed and Amun was still sitting there on the beach. He had finished the earlier sunset scene, thankful that he had finished the colors on the sky before he had gotten distracted. The other pieces were complete as well, a bit rough but they were just sketches. Looking up from the last few lines, he spotted the guy returning, pulling the hobiecat behind him.

A few more lines were laid down on a fresh page as he tried to capture the man's strong stance and posture, but he was moving around far too much for Amun to really get anything solid and workable down.

Ezra was thinking about what to do next as he walked through the sand, pulling his Nalphone out of the waterproof case. He was texting rapidly when he noticed the guy from earlier was still on the beach. Ezra decided to keep walking, though he noticed the guy kept glancing at him for long periods and then looking down and drawing. This happened enough times to pique Ezra’s curiosity.

“You trying to draw me or something?” He called out as he walked closer to him, amusement in his tone. The thought of someone drawing him inflated his massive ego at once, “Switching to less murderous hobbies?” Ezra asked. Then again, he had a few hobbies he didn’t share proactively - like his piano skills.

Amun was lost in the lines of his work when he heard medpac call out to him. Looking up, he saw the guy walking closer to him. He thought about telling him to fuck off for a moment but decided against it.

"I was. You have strong lines and a powerful figure. Too bad you move around so much, makes it hard to capture a good moment." He admitted casually. He had already been caught so there was little reason to cower in shame. Besides, shame wasn't very becoming of a Sith. Even when he wasn't acting as one.

Of course he didn't exactly want to seem like he was one either and the comment about murderous hobbies gave him a pause.

"I like to keep my hobbies murder free. A mentor of mine once told me to never let work bleed into my personal life." He said in a deadpan as he looked at the guy with a serious look on his face before winking and letting a smile onto his face. "Joking. I do hear some artists only paint in red though." His own joke drawing a small laugh out of him.

"You wanna see?" He asked, gesturing with the sketchpad before patting the ground next to him.

Ezra looked down at himself at the mention of ‘strong lines and a powerful figure’. These were just the kinds of words he liked hearing, “Yeah, I get that a lot too,” He said breezily, standing up a bit straighter to exert his presence some more. He eyed the boy when he spoke about murder hobbies and things bleeding into his personal life. While the boy laughed at his own joke, Ezra’s face remained impassive. He was deciding whether he needed to immediately bail on the psychopath or not.

He eyed the spot on the ground next to the guy where he gestured for Ezra to sit. At first, he almost declined, but he forgot to bring a towel and could use some time in the sun to dry off. With a shrug, he sat down next to him.

“I wouldn't mind being drawn,”
Ezra said, “Just tell me how to pose,” He looked over the sketchpad, waiting to see what else the guy drew. The part Sephi wasn’t particularly interested, but he had time to kill.

Amun went silent for a moment, realizing that his joke hadn't hit it's target. Normal people just didn't get his humor. Mildly psychopathic as it was... It wasn't his fault he had been forced into one cult after another all his life.

He was a little bit surprised when the guy sat down next to him, offering to let Amun draw him as he looked over at the pad.

"Have you modeled before?" Amun asked as he flipped back a little too far into the sketchpad, revealing some of his practice sketches of the local flowers near his rented room. "Too far." He muttered to himself as he quickly flipped forward to the first sketch of the sunrise.

"This is what I started with here." He showed the drawing of rich colors blended together over the ocean, a sandy beach, and a small figure pulling a boat out to water. "Some asshole wandered into the scene at the last minute, so I decided to just incorporate him into the sketch." He said with a smirk before flipping through the next few pages.

There were a few rough sketches of Ezra on the boat out on the waves. The lines were hasty but clean. There was one in particular of the guy riding a wave on the hobiecat as he leaned back out over the water. This one had a bit more detail to it. The rest were rougher, quick sketches of Ezra in various moments as he had dragged the hobiecat out of the water.

"Last ones are a bit poor, could do a much better one if you posed." He said with a small smile before turning to look at him. "You got a name? I'm Amun." He said, introducing himself finally.

“I have,” Ezra said to his question. He brought out his NalPhone and scrolled till he pulled up several articles about him modeling for the infamous Billie Bonheur, “I do it as a summer gig for now,” He said casually, though he genuinely felt a lot of pride in his work.

Ezra looked at the local flowers before the guy quickly began to flip through pages. Clearly he was jumpy and suspicious, but Ezra didn’t care to find out more. He saw the beautiful art of the sunset and could spot himself appearing in it. He leaned in close to stare at himself in action, “You dig my forearms, huh?” He asked with a faint grin, looking where there was a bit more focus.

He looked up at Amun when he introduced himself. He didn’t run into many people that didn’t recognize him, but he expected this guy to live under a rock. He wasn’t even worth an alias, “Ezra,” He said simply. He didn’t linger there long, jumping back to his feet and shrugging off the button down.

“How am I posing?” Ezra asked, clearly self absorbed enough to want a drawing of himself.

Amun raised an eyebrow as the guy declared that he had in fact done some modeling before pulling out his NalPhone and showing off several articles on it. Amun was starting to get the idea that he enjoyed being the center of attention. Of course, Amun's eyes were less focused on the photographs and more focused on the words that quickly rolled past.

He refrained from showing any reaction as Ezra unwittingly revealed his identity, first as the son of the ISC president, but also as a Jedi. He instead turned his attention back to Ezra's interest in the more detailed aspect of his art, particularly the attention he had paid to his forearms.

"Well uhh..." Amun seemed to pause for a moment as he tried to think of some sort of cover before just defaulting to the truth on the subject. "Yeah, nothing wrong with appreciating a guy's forearms." He glanced away for a second as a hint of a blush tinged his pale cheeks. By then Ezra had jumped up, shrugging off his shirt which didn't really do much to help.

"Hmm... What do you consider your best feature that you'd like shown off?" He asked as he considered how Ezra should pose. He hadn't really been expecting for Ezra to volunteer so willingly to be drawn, but it pretty much confirmed Amun's idea that Ezra was used to being the center of attention and probably enjoyed it.

Ezra wasn’t too concerned about the guy knowing who he was. It wasn’t like he was an obscure face - any moron that followed the news could tell he was the ISC President’s son and also a Jedi. He was still absorbed in thoughts about himself when he noticed Amun getting flustered. The sight drew out a grin, though Ezra said nothing about it.

“What? You’re the artist,” He said with a quirked brow, “You’re supposed to tell me how to pose.”

Ezra rolled his eyes and walked over to lie down and prop himself up in the sand, staring intently at Amun. He had nothing but his swimming shorts on and that kyber crystal necklace hanging around his chest.

“Draw me like one of your Nabooian boys,” He said with a wink, quoting a famous drama movie about a ship that sank on Manaan a long time ago.
