Amun tried to bring himself back as the scent of seawater enveloped him with Ezra's nearness. He had to regain control of himself, to take the power back in this situation. He wasn't sure what he was more ashamed of, how the nearness of the other boy made him feel, or the fact that the feelings where such an obstacle. Breathe.

"Thanks." He murmured back at the compliment. He caught the other boys own quiet utterance, how he looked like his own father. Amun silently wondered what that might be like. He had never even known his father. There was a twinge of anger there and he seized at it, using it to gain control of himself as he breathed. But all he could smell was seawater.

"Oh umm..." Amun hesitated as he looked a Ezra and then at the sketch. He was torn. He wasn't particularly attached to any of his works of art, usually. But this was the first one that he was truly... proud of. He wavered for a moment before scribbling a small signature in the corner, near sketchEzra's elbow.

"Yeah you can, just let me..." He didn't finish verbally, instead pulling out his nalphone and snapping a picture of the sketch. Satisfied that he would keep something of it, he put his phone away.

"You were a good model. You said you do it part time, you ever think of doing it as a career?" Amun asked as he started to gently pull the page from the sketchbook to give to Ezra. "Or do you have... greater ambitions?" He asked, having taken back his own mind. His own thoughts raced as he tried to figure out some sort of advantage to this encounter. Some actionable benefit. He teased the drawing free from the sketchpad but had yet to give it to Ezra.

Ezra didn’t miss how Amun hesitated when he asked for the drawing. When he saw him take out his NalPhone and snap a picture, the part Sephi gave a half grin, “Why don’t you keep it, then?” He asked quietly, “Call it the start of your portfolio,” He said, taking his own NalPhone out to snap a picture instead.

When Amun asked about his ambitions, Ezra gave a vague shrug, “Be a Jedi, I suppose,” He said without thinking much of it. Him being a Jedi was splashed all over tabloids, so he wasn’t concerned about sharing that information, “Finishing up school still.”

He wasn’t the type to enjoy small talk, but he did notice Amun was still blushing and tense around him. Ezra quirked a brow, “Why are you so nervous and fidgety?” He asked flatly.

Amun was surprised when Ezra suggested that he keep the drawing, snapping his own picture of it. He let the drawing sit there loosely on the sketchpad, staring at it.

"I don't like to get attached to things." He answered with a sort of faraway voice as his eyes ran over the sketch, taking in the lines and colors once again. "It's easier if you don't care, when things are taken from you." He answered honestly. It was true, all his life, things were always being taken from him. His home, his mother, his childhood, his choices.

Amun looked at Ezra then as he said that he would be a Jedi, raising an eyebrow. He of course already knew, but he was a bit surprised that the boy would admit it so freely.

"Become a Jedi? And then what, what exactly does a Jedi do?" There was curiosity in his voice. He had had the opportunity to walk that path once, though that door had been shut for him long ago. Another choice taken from him. He was curious to get a glimpse through the window at a path that he might have walked. "Jedi school?" There was a small snicker as he laughed at the idea of Jedi stuffed into classrooms, sitting at desks as they studied how to be impassive and uncaring. Ezra certainly had the second part down it seemed.

He was taken off guard suddenly as Ezra asked him why he was nervous. He glanced at Ezra, down at the sketch, and back at Ezra. "Well, besides the part where there's a half naked man next to me..." He blushed a little but his voice was calm as he looked out over the beach, out over the sea. A child ran past being chased by his mother and father, laughing gleefully. "I suppose because it's just so... so normal here. I'm not used to normal." He replied, brushing off the concern rising in him that he was divulging too much.

Ezra said nothing as Amun professed a rather depressing account of getting attached to things. He was beginning to wonder if it was time to get going. This guy was rather weird, and Ezra normally had little patience. He couldn’t relate either - he normally had nothing taken from him. Ezra grew up in a lap of luxury and the thought of losing what he liked sounded odd to him.

He snickered when Amun remarked on his state of attire, rolling his eyes and placing the button up back on. With a yawn, Ezra plopped back to lie down on the sand, popping his shades back over his eyes. He rested his head on his arms behind his head, crossing one leg over a knee and gazing up at the sky.

“Private school,” Ezra corrected, “And yeah I worked that out early on,” He said in response to Amun mentioning he wasn’t used to normal. The guy was a trip. He was still thinking about what Jedi did, lying in silence for a few seconds.

“Jedi is whatever you make of it,” He said, “It’s a second home for me, I guess. Sense of belonging,” Ezra said, shrugging a bit. It all sounded cheesy, but he couldn’t deny he liked his Master quite a bit.

“You some kind of hobo or something?”

Amun couldn't say he was surprised when Ezra said he went to private school. The guy reeked of privilege, which made sense considering his father was one of the richest and most powerful men in the galaxy. "E-" He started to say something as Ezra commented that he had worked out early that Amun wasn't used to normal. He clamped his mouth shut however as he thought about it. He wasn't exactly good at fitting into 'normal' apparently.

Something to work on.

"Whatever they make of it... Is that what they tell you?" He asked. His memories of the Jedi weren't so optimistic, but he supposed he had grown up with them. "Second home? Sense of belonging? It sound's nice. Maybe I'll go become one." He said with a little laugh as he started to draw a lightsaber in the sand next to him with his pencil, using it as a stick. There was more humor to that joke for him than Ezra would get which was fine, it was for him anyways.

"Hobo?" Amun raised an eyebrow before looking down at his outfit. Did he look that shabby? "Nah. I'm actually a uhh..." He stopped, thinking. How could he describe his job without making it sound incredibly sketchy and illegal. "Amateur Archeologist and Antiquities dealer." He said after the pause. Nope, that definitely still sounded sketchy as hell. "I'm not some broke vagabond if thats what you're asking."

Ezra scoffed, “Do I seem the type to let anyone tell me what to believe?” He rolled his eyes. This kid didn’t know anything. He rested an arm over his eyes, pondering a nap right there. The sun was warm on his skin and he always loved the sounds of the waves, “Do you have the Force?” He asked flatly after Amun mused about becoming a Jedi, “Jedi are okay, but not as lame as the Sith so I’ll take it.”

He tilted his head over to look at Amun when he mentioned he was an archaeologist and antiquities dealer, “You’re like twelve, I highly doubt that,” He said icily before looking away again. His grandma was more likely to have that job title than him, “But I’ll humor you - what types of antiquities?” Ezra asked. He said nothing about the abrupt suggestion that Amun wasn’t a vagabond, which at best sounded like a defensive projection.

Amun looked at Ezra as he claimed that he wasn't the type to let other's tell him what to believe. "No." He finally said after a moment. A chill went down Amun's spine despite the warmth of the morning son as Ezra asked him if he had the force, and there was a faint anger that he repressed at the idea of the Sith being lame.

"I've never been tested. I doubt it." Amun answered casually after thinking about how to approach the question, the subject was a delicate one. "The way the holonet talks about the Jedi though, I don't know if I would want to be one even if I was." He deflected back to the negative press the Jedi Order always got, articles almost constantly being ran about how they weren't needed.

"I'm not twelve!" Amun said a little defensively. He had already been self conscious about his size and features before everything had happened, and with the alterations that had been made it was even harder to deal with. "I'll be seventeen next month." He wasn't really sure, never knew his exact birthday, but it was probably close enough. He looked at Ezra through the side of his eyes as he asked what sort of antiquities before leveling his pencil at the kyber crystal necklace the boy wore.

"Stuff like that. Buyers pay a premium for historical artifacts of significance to the force cults, or relics from the various galactic wars." He said with a slight grin before turning his attention back to the shoreline and yawning. He didn't want to give Ezra the idea that he wanted the kyber crystal he had, mostly because he didn't. "Where'd you get that anyways? If you don't mind me asking of course."
