Master Ziil's question threw Kithiac off. Did he mean Phoenix? Apart from her strength in the Force, Kithiac knew nothing about her. Not every Jedi wanted to teach, and she seemed more the fighting type to him. Taking him on as an apprentice would ground her indefinitely while he developed the skills necessary to accompany her on the doubtlessly dangerous missions she untertook. And would they even fit? Master Ziil said that it is the Force that chooses the apprentice for the master, but in the end, no one would bat an eye if a Jedi had second thoughts.
No. Kithiac did not see where the dots connected. And for just a moment, he allowed himself to doubt whether the council member did either. Although he relished the thought of having someone like Phoenix for a master, he knew that wishful thinking solved nothing. "Who would that be, Master Ziil?".
