A Darkling Plain

And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night

Alarm kaxons whined, crewmen screamed and it all seemed so surreal to Akiara, three years after the battle of Coruscant and here he was spying on his own crew - he had to know what they were transporting that was attracting so much Imperial attention. Hidden in the corner of the medbay he was looking at the flickering comptuer monitor he had set up; from it he was watching the captain on the Bridge. No sound yet but he was working on it. Ah! Sound,

"If the Imperials get their hands on those coordinates then the Alliance-" A Junior Officer looked panic stricken.

The Captain interrupted.

"It won't come to that, we picked up the agent at our last stop we just have to make sure he gets out of here."

So that's why they had been leapfrogging from world to world. The Welcome to Vista Sanction Class Cruiser had so far managed to avoid - just the closing Imperial net but everyone on board knew that net was getting tighter and tighter. Akiara may have been posted to the medical bay but he had found ways into the security systems of the ship in his short stay and he had kept himself informed of events. Suddenly there was a hand on his shoulder, his CO was barking at him and it took him a moment to realise that they needed his help. He grabbed the remaining bacta and headed with him down the tight corridors as crewmen ran past and the Red Alert signal started up. He could feel the momentum of the ship change the engines power vibrating on the decks as he moved around to Medical bay B. It took him a moment to realise but it contained just one person.

The ship started rocking and made him lose balance, seemed the Imperials had caught up after all. A mixture of panic and dread swept over Akiara as he approached the figure and more rumbles and screeches where heard.
