Gerard Meek sat alone, waiting for the man that would teach him the things the other men had told him about. The men called Dark Jedi, the ones who had taken him away from the dirty streets of Nar Shadaa. He put his head in hands and waited.

I'm sure he'll be fine. Scary, but fine. Gerard thought.

And he'll teach me many things, hopefully.Things that will be wonderful...the power to kill....

Conscio. A virtually forgotten world until the War of the Gods. It was Conscio that the Legions of Lettow, ancient Dark Jedi that had been exiled from the Jedi Order and the Republic, had fled to and Korriban soon after. Here, in the ancient temple of those old Dark Jedi, a new order was rising to fill their footsteps.

Draped in a dark cloak, Malon, Dark Crusader of the Bogan, strode through the brick-built halls of the ancient temple, only the flames from the torches lining the walls lighting his way. He found his way into a tiny room in the farthest hall of the temple. There sat his newest student.

The boy had short brown hair and was slightly shorter than Malon himself. Malon had little need for formalities. He had no intention of making this an 'easy' training by any means of the word for the boy; Gerard was it?

"Ah, I assume you're the latest hopeful attempting to join our ranks. Well then, listen closely. I am not going to tell you my name. You will refer to me as 'Master' and nothing more. If you listen to me, I will unlock secrets for you that are beyond your wildest dreams, but if you do not listen, you will die." he barked.

Malon strolled across the room and seized a chair from its corner, placing it on the floor a few feet in front of Gerard and sitting in it.

"Tell me the Code of the Bogan and what it means to you."

The man, master, strode into the room in such a way that told him he needed to listen. And Gerard did. Calmly Gerard replied.

"One. All life is suffering. Until you accept this fact, you will never understand anything. Accept the suffering your life will bring. Allow it to motivate you, anger you.

Two.If the Jedi have been plagued by one thing since their creation it has been indecisiveness. They fail to react. They only want to contemplate. When it is time to act the Jedi only want to mediate in their ivory towers. We demand you to act swiftly, not wait on guidance from the Force. Failure to react is a failure to act. Do what you know is right.

Three. The dogmatic Jedi would have you believe you can become content, serene, but we know this is a lie. We creatures are not above the need for emotion, for passion. Instead of repression, we only ask that you use your emotions to fuel your power, to guide you.

Four. There is no will of the Force. The universe is chaos. Life is made of random actions that create who we are. Beings cannot be harmonious with one another because they are, in essence, animalistic creatures driven by instinct. Do not avoid this. Use chaos to further your aims and your powers, for chaos brings darkness to existence.

Five.Death is all around us. It is a part of everything, as everything dies. Denying this is denying the meaning of ourselves and the truth to existence: there is no life. We are fleeting creatures in a universe as meaningless as an unused plow. Whatever we are, whatever our meaning, we imbue it; there is no cosmic plan. Either live well or die swift; do not contemplate the afterlife, for that gives way to stagnation. Instead, use your power to its fullest, for there is no reward waiting for those pure of heart."

Gerard looked up at his Master. A fire in his eyes.

"What does this mean to me?" Gerard asked, a slow smile spreading accross his face. "It means that in order to obtain the power I want, the power I need. I need to rise above all other beings, the Jedi, the Republic, the pathetic Hutts.I need to rise above them, to get what I want. And what do I want? I'm not exactly sure, but it will surely be bloody." Gerard grinned, the thought of power going through his mind.

With that, Gerard wiped the smile off his face. "I will learn all I can from you, and will listen with all concentration.I am ready to learn."

Standing silenty near the doorway of the dimly lit room, Ajoc Laynier merely watched and listened the master and his student. Malon was one of the few Crusaders whom he could training in these old halls, barking out his commands to the students as if they were animals. Some were nothing more than animals but others would show themselves deserving nothing more than a new pair of robes and title Master added to their name. The student however spoke too much of his ambitions even if he mentioned "bloody".

He was your typical A-grade killer with nothing more of a purpose to be another body cast out onto the battlefield to be trampled. It was a scenario he was all too familiar with even if he was on a different side. As the boy finished his rather obvious statement of wanting to learn, laced with the desire to kill like a some mad animal, Ajoc let out a rather raspy cough as he emerged from the shadows.

Bandages covered him from head to toe yet his pitch black robes which were crafted to be larger than himself as most were, created a stark contrast between the some what weathered white bandages. A slit was drawn across the front of his face, allowing his dark blue eyes to see and give some what of an addition to his mysterious demeanour. When finally upon the couple, Ajoc looked at one another for a second or so before turning to the other. Only a blank stare and nothing more.

"So this is what we bring in these days."

Ajoc let out a loud sigh as his gaze locked upon the young acolyte...

"More students who dream of nothing but killing countless numbers of our enemies and their own. Gawking at those who are above them, leading them to the battles in which they crave. My, my these times really are sad."

His gaze then turned over to Malon where he raised his own brow for a brief moment...

"Then there is the master. Tell me boy what do you hope to accomplish here by training this animal? Do you hope to rehabilitate him and put him to good use? Or maybe you're thinking of keeping him this way. After all ignorance is truly bliss and what more do you need than a hound who will do everything you say.."

Every word that spilled from his mouth, Ajoc meant it. He had little to no regards to anyone that he spoke to, especially acolytes. They were the lowest of the low, barely better than the ground he walked upon. The Crusader though deserved an ounce of respect due to him making it through the hardships of training and finally leading himself around for a change. But there was a point to his visit, Ajoc obviously would not of interrupted without a purpose.

Gerard watched as the new man entered the room. He scared Gerard, but his words...his words came as if Gerard wasn't in the room. Gerard, looking back, figured he should have held his tongue. But he spoke anyway.

"You're wrong. I don't dream of killing countless people!" he said, angrily. "But I do..."

Gerard's eyes narrowed. "I can be what I want, so don't talk about me like I'm an animal..." there was anger slowly burning in him. This man, he was like the big kid on the streets. He talked down about everyone else...maybe he was just not used to Bogan society...

Malon kept his cool, eying the man who had come bursting in during the middle of his introductory training speech. A trifle. His apprentice would learn, animal or not. Such was the way of the dark side of the Force.

"My...apprentice here may be just another Bogan lackey,, meant to be just another body on the battlefield, consumed by his primal hunger to reek havoc and death on all who stand in his way. Or, he could survive my training and become something more. That is up to his will alone. If he does not learn, death is all that awaits him in the Emperor's service. If he does, he may just stand a chance. All of this depends on his determination to discard who he is now, and become something new. Transformed by the dark side, as I am.

"As for me, I train and train others for one purpose; to unlock the secrets of the Force and of the true nature of the dark side, so that perhaps one day I can become stronger than the Emperor himself."

He then turned his attention back to his student.

"That was an acceptable response. Now, tell me about yourself; your personality and your past. The more I know of you, the easier it will be for me to train you."

Ajoc was practically put off by the young Malon, acting as if he did not acknowledge the chain of command with the Bogan. Today though he was feeling generous with how polite he was acting. It was that or Ajoc would locked his hands around Malon's head, forcing the power of Malacia to rage within his mind. Throwing off his equilibrium completely and pushing it to the point where he might vomit over both of them. But Ajoc was yet again feeling generous with how polite he was going to be. Raising up his right hand to halt Malon from teaching his student further, he cleared his voice again before speaking.

"I'm afraid you don't understand Malon. I'm taking the both of you under my wing and teaching the both of you the fine arts of the Force."

He then turned, opening his hand as he motioned to Malon as his blank stare focused upon him once more...

"Accept and I will guide you through your passage onto the rank of Dark Master. You will learn what pain really is but also what true triumph is. Within this you will find yourself closer to your goal."

Looking back to Gerad, his left hand did not open like it did to Malon but rather it closed into a tight fist...

"You may learn enough to break yourself free from this state of mind where killing is all that seems important to you. Or perhaps the animal will consume you and never will you see the truth. But know this, I will have great things in store for you...If you over come this blood lust."

His words were calm and affirmative with each promise. No one could know what Ajoc was planning. The blanke stare emerging from the wraps of bandages left little to no indication of emotion but it was certainly clear there was something more to all of this.

What is life without killing, Gerard? Can you give it up?

I can. I'm nothing but a monster if I don't. Gerard looked up at the new man, his "other master" he supposed. "I will."

Malon did not like being treated like nothing, especially in front of his new student, but now, he had been made an offer that he could not refuse. He, along with his would be student, would both become pupils of Ajoc and gain the next respective rank themselves.

Malon bowed his head to his newest Master, "I will learn from you, Master." he decided.

"Good. Remember in this time the chances on the two of you dying is great. Who knows, I might end up making the two of you face off with another. Determining who is truely worthy to go on. But for now we are going to take an academic side to this training. I want the two of you to sit on that training mat and be ready to learn."

Ajoc then reached inside his coat as the two walked over to their respective positions, pulling what seemed to be a pyramid like object. It barely could fit in his hand as he pulled it out and sat it on the ground. Gold lined the edges as the walls of the object were a translucent crimson color where small tinges of lighting erupted inside. Ajoc knelt down beside the pyramid and slowly waved his hand over the top, closing his eyes as he did so. The top then opened up, projecting a twi'lek who bore the robes quite similar to the Bogan's before their rise to the empire.

"This is Master Mirik whom was one of the few Dark Assassins within our order. He taught only a few students an art that allowed the user to become completely one with his enviroment and therefore gaining the ability to hide themselves within the force as well."

Small broken fragments of memories were then displayed within the holo-graphic display. One such memory was Mirik and one of his early students where they were looking over their own tracks. A few select words were spoken and the two were off to another location. Soon the student commanded the force to his whim and caused a great avalanche which covered their previous location.

"Now, Master Mirik is teaching him a vital lesson here within the arts of becoming a Dark Assassin. Which one of you recognize what this lesson might be?"

Ajoc's teachings were some what taboo compared to the rest of his fellow masters. Where they would have their students in the field performing the very thing they were speaking about, Ajoc prefered to have some of their teachings in doors and through lessons. Soon though he would have them out in the field actually doing something related but as for now they were getting the chance of a life time to see a holocron.

Malon sat on the mat as his new Master had instructed. He was soon engulfed by the memories being shown on the holocron before them. His student was but a mere acolyte, but he was a Crusader. Trained far above what his student could accomplish, or so he thought. Therefore, he was amused by the prospect of facing the acolyte in combat in the future. A question was then posed, and Malon spoke to answer.

"Master, he's teaching him to cover their tracks. An assassin must move with stealth, in the utmost secrecy. No one must suspect an assassin is about, nor be able to follow their movements. What Master Mirik is teaching his student in that hologram is to leave no evidence behind that they were ever there, and thus cover their tracks." he answered.

Gerard nodded in agreement with what Master Number 1 had said. But a thought entered his head.“I see a small problem with what the student did,” he started, indicating him.“He causes an avalanche when he could just as easily have wiped the tracks away.Depending on the situation,an avalanch could bring them unwanted attention,no?”

"Not exactly Gerad. Consider the circumstances if they were escaping. Already he might be trying to draw attention. Not to himself obviously but to the situation. Say in an area much like that mountain range, avalanches are possible and natural. Not many would suspect of an assassin letting down an avalanche. You are on the right track. As for you though Malon you are a spot on and I encourage you to keep your mind sharp."

They were learning and that was exactly what Ajoc wanted. Most Dark Masters would of punished Gerad for his wrong answer but there was something different within Ajoc. Maybe it was just the way he taught. Maybe the Jedi still had some type of hold over him and he did not believe in harming his students as most did within the Bogan.

The next portion of the hologram that sprang up into myriad of visions was the two reaching a camp where Master Mirik sat down beside a camp fire. Speaking a few menced words to his acolyte...

"What is my goal, and how do I achieve it without leaving any trace. This will be the question you ask yourself before any mission..."

Ajoc then turned to his student as Master Mirik then battled one another, part of the acolyte's training under Mirik.

"Keep that question always in your mind if you ever hope survive under me and in the future. I hope the two of you don't take this personally but I can't let you know about our next training session. Hope you enjoy the nap though."

Turning to both Malon and Gerad, Ajoc threw both of his hands foward and commanded the force to his finger tips as he focused the energy. Shooting it off into their bodies without any visible trace, he slowly racked their equillibrium with Malacia. Their bodies would be sent through the worst pains imaginable. Controling their blood flew, speeding it up and then slowing it down within short spans of one another as he gave them that familiar blank stare...

((You're about to become really ****ing sick. You're basically going to pass out because I am slowing down your blood flow then speeding it back up. Also throwing off your equilibrium.))

Gerard listened intently to Master #2. He was wrong, but he was getting there.

"What is my goal, and how do I achieve it without leaving any trace. This will be the question you ask yourself before any mission..." the Holo said. Gerard listened, and nodded as Master #2 spoke. Then suddenly, he felt like throwing up, Master #2 was doing something. Suddenly, everything went black.

Malon saw everything around him start to spin. His stomach churned, and he became very sick. The last thing he remembered before the darkness came was vomiting and then he was awake, somewhere away from where he had fallen into sleep.

So it began.

Both Malon and Gerad were indeed in a foriegn location. The sun was gentle with its light as it shined down through the gorge, revealing some of the ancient architecture that was slowly beginning to become forgotten by time itself. A small creek also ran through the area. A soft pattering eminated from the water that could be heard through out the small area as it fell from one edge to the other and progresed outside of the enclosure. The two acolytes would find themselves without much of their gear, even their clothing was missing and replaced simple training garb. Another new addition was a device which was wrapped around their left ankle. It was heavier than your average fashion addition and had a curiously looking red light that would flash in between five second intervals. Things were not looking good.

"Wake up the two of you! You don't have all day to be laying around in a gorge! You don't have much time before your first trial arrives and I have already taken your weapons!"

Ajoc had everything laid out for the two unwary acolytes. Already there was a unseen enemy, watching them closely as they slept within the gorge. Silently it crawled about, looking down at them from many angles as it plotted how it was going to take its prey.

Oh hell...Where was he? Gerard opened his eyes and was shocked by the light.

"Wake up the two of you! You don't have all day to be laying around in a gorge! You don't have much time before your first trial arrives and I have already taken your weapons!"

Great...He looked down at his ankle, some sort of device was attatched to it. His clothes were gone, and the original master lay next to him. Slowly, Gerard sat up. His head pounded in pain, but he crawled over to the stream. He splashed it on his face, and that cleared his head. Then he bolted up. Trials! Where was the trial? What was the trial?
