Cregan Drast was a man of power - no one could dispute this and no one ever tried. He was known to be a powerful Force User and his name was whispered in the same breath as some of the most powerful people in the Galaxy. But whereas they looked to The Eternal, Levi and Kravos and they found something to fear, when they looked at him he couldn't help but feel that many weren't entirely sure what they should feel.

Should they fear him like they feared those others?

Should they not fear him because of his name, because of his previous reputation as something of a maverick but one with a sense of mercy and compassion?

In the end, it seemed that he would be forced to decide between two choices, two choices that men and women had faced for thousands of years now. A question with no true answer but a great deal of soul-searching to be found in the attempt to find such an answer.

Was it better to be feared or respected?

Now Cregan might not have commanded the level of fear that some people had but he was capable of inspiring great fear should he wish to. Respect was something that he had worked harder to obtain as a Jedi and he had succeeded in some ways and failed in others... but the fact that he had achieved some measure of respect was never in question.

Now he was sat here in a Sith Temple on Korriban and all he had to do was decide. Decide on a path for himself, for the rest of his life, for the rest of his goals.

In the end, Cregan Drast was something of a contradiction though and so his answer to the question posed to himself by his own mind, to be feared or to be respected, was a little bit of a twist, a little bit of a cheat to get out of actually being forced to choose. Because his choice was, he found as he sat there looking at the new armour he had had made for himself, already decided and there was nothing to do but accept it.

Was it better to be feared or respected?

It was better to be both.

Kravos, The Eternal and Levi all had fear as potent weapons in their arsenals but the respect they commanded was limited to those who served with them, those who knew them personally and those who's goals aligned with their own. They were powerful men and they were men he himself could respect... but the respect didn't come from across the borders of Sith Space. Enemies feared them but they were not respected in the same breath.

Andraste was.

People from across the Galaxy, on all sides of the conflicts through the cosmos, viewed Andraste as someone to be feared, to be respected, to be admired and to be loved. She had managed to get all of it. She had blazed that trail and shown the Galaxy that an Exile in power didn't need to be a tyrant.

They could be adored.

She had always done her best to make sure that he stayed true to himself during the course of their relationship and she had done something that she hadn't even meant to do - she had made him a better man.

A Good Man.

He would take what she had made him and he would follow her example as best as he could. He would remind himself at all times that he was Cregan Drast, that he was to be both feared and respected, that he was to be a beacon of what could be in the future as she was. He would forever remind himself that he was to be a strong leader, a terrible foe, a wise ruler and, above all else, a good man.

Stripping himself down, Cregan paid no attention to his nudity as he began to slowly re-dress himself in the new armour that he had had made. Once he was almost entirely encased in the armour, Cregan looked down at the helmet in his hands. He stared at the blue highlights for a long moment before affixing the helmet and striding from the room.

Cregan Drast had entered.

Darth Evandrus left.
