OOC: 48 hour posting cadence. Posts made after the 48 hour mark may be ignored by the DM.
No New Entrants
In contrast to its famous demilitarisation in the past, representatives of the factions invited to the summit would find that the planet from space was bustling with trade and bristling with weapons. Orbital defence stations were dotted around in such a way as to provide overlapping fields of fire and from their berths hundreds of starfighters ran through patrol patterns to protect the traders entering the system.
Looming large, out of the way of dedicated freight lanes, several capital ships of the Ruusan Defence Fleet could easily be seen. The mixture of corvettes, frigates, carriers and cruisers was not insubstantial and quite fitting for such a pivotal planet in such uncertain political times.
As the ships of the Representatives would arrive, a squadron of starfighters would peel off from the Defence Fleet to act as an escort for a shuttle to ferry them down to the surface. If any faction chose to arrive with more than the one designated military vessel, they would be given a single warning to have the other ships depart immediately.
However, should such unpleasantness be found to be not required, the shuttles would be ferried to the planet in such a manner as to land at approximately the same time regardless of distance.
The landing pad was a large, circular, platform that was serviced by a high-speed tramline that would spirit the Representatives on toward the main government building of Ruusan: The Dome.
The Representatives would be guided to the highspeed tram by protocol droids, upon which time the tram would spirit them away into the central, circular building of Ruusan’s capital city. At such smooth speeds, the transition time would feel like no time at all and before long the tram would open and the Representatives were guided up into the main room.
Large, spacious and bright, the main room to be used for the Peace Summit was separated into two areas; the seats and a raised area positioned to allow speakers to be seen and heard by all without the need for technology to be used.
Seats were already filled as the Representatives were hurried to join a single man upon the raised portion of the room. Richly dressed in dark clothes with a dark cloak, Governor Lars Omah stood waiting for the Representatives of some of the most important factions within the current Galaxy.
He opened his arms in greeting.
“Friends - be welcomed, one and all, to this Joining of the Minds.” he spoke with a rich, deep, voice that at once seemed authoritative but also tired, “I am glad that you are willing to attend, that you might be willing to see, as I do, a need for peace to prevail for all kind.”
Amongst the people seated, there appeared to be three main groups all clustered around an individual who stood out as being a leader of that section of the audience as it were. A reserved Chalactan man with a shaved head who seemed to be rather young (early 20s) for such a position of authority - and the exact opposite of a rotund human in his late sixties who seemed to be in the middle of stuffing his face and engaging in rowdy jokes at the expense of the Representative of Nixor across the room.
Said Representative was a red-toned Twi’lek who seemed depressingly rather accustomed to being objectified and rather done with it all - if her rather bored expression was an indication. Lars spoke to the Representatives of the main factions.
“As you are some of the most influential people within the Galaxy at this given moment, these people are largely here to hear you speak. To hear you discuss what we can do to end the fighting. Please, speak amongst yourselves for now but I shall prepare the room for you to introduce yourselves before we move onto the stated goals of your governments in attending this summit.”
He smiled.
“And please, no filibuster, this is not the Galactic Senate chambers.”
Moving to the front of the raised area of the room, the conversations began to die down as Governor Lars Omah stood at attention at the edge.
“Sentients. Thank you for attending - I am Governor Lars Omah of Ruusan and I want to see Peace in my time amongst all peoples. That we may stride forth into the future as one, joint, peoples that can prosper and grow together.” he introduced himself and the stated purpose of the summit, “Please, allow the key speakers to introduce themselves…”
He would step to one side and bow to the Representatives to allow them to introduce themselves.
