Greif had a strange way of robbing pieces of your soul. It made you feel as if bits of you were missing. Lost. Jedi Master Alexandria Voran had not existed since Max died. Alex had been barely keeping herself standing…that part of her that earned her place…gone. It was obvious to those who knew her. Kriff, it was obvious to those that didn’t. She had not been herself for weeks before ever setting foot on New Alderaan. Staring down the infected in that warehouse, she was not sure she ever would find herself again. Yet, the Force always seemed to illuminate the path when you lease expected it.
The fear in the eyes of the Rangers, the tension in the Force. Something snapped back into place. In that moment, Master Voran found herself again. The Force hummed brightly inside her chest. Oh yes, the pain of losing Max still beat in heart, but she could no longer allow that to define who she was. He would never have wanted that. She did not want that. Alex turned to meet Sevrin’s eyes. She nodded slowly. They could face whatever monster inhabited the Governor’s suite. Her eyes returned to the Rangers. “We can help…but we need to know exactly what we are up against.” She gestured towards the warehouse. “We are unlikely to survive underestimating him twice.” The Rangers spirits seemed to lift slightly. There was no magic Jedi wand they could wave, but they could at least try to remove the governor. She lowered her voice to speak to Sevrin.
“We’re going to need time to plan.” She looked back out at the Rangers. “Maybe some help depending on what we are up against.” The Force locked into place. This was the path. She knew it.
