There was something oddly beautiful about Ruuria. One would think that the pink hues of the rivers that crisscrossed the world's jungle might make visitors feel sick or that the incessant chroma-wings floating hither and thither would become irritating but they just didn't. Things just worked on this world. Perhaps it was due to the hive-like colonies of the native Ruurians that contributed to this. Everyone had an assigned role from birth and all worked together to fulfil that role for the good of the group.

It was a pretty compelling argument against individualism but that wasn't why Telly Udon, Resistance leader, was here. He was here to see if one of the many colonies spread out across the world would consider pledging themselves to the cause of fighting the Empire. It was a difficult but not impossible ask. The elders, normally the hardest to convince in societies like this, had reached the lifestage where they were more content to float around, eat, and mate, leaving much of the day-to-day decisions of the colony to the larvae, of all things. This worked for Telly. Larvae were youths and you could appeal to a sense of adventure and righteous indignation with the youth. At least, Telly was pretty sure you could. It had been awhile since he'd been young. At 419 years old, he was ancient by human standards and even by Pau'an standards was pretty firmly entrenched into middle age.

"It's going to be a steep ask. Many of us are eager to get offworld and have some adventures before turning all...fluttery. But against both the Empire and the Sith? It feels like painting a target on our backs. And not just our backs - there's dozens more colonies that could be caught in the crossfire because of our actions." Lonx, a Ruurian larva leader told the Pau'an.

"I've been in this fight a long time, Lonx. And I've heard a lot of beings say the same thing as you. But consider this, my good chap, if the Empire is so terrifying, why am I still standing? Why can I raid Raxus Prime and mouth off to them on the Holo and still be here to talk to you."

"Heh - yeah some of us at the University watched that broadcast late at night. It was certainly inspiring. I'll make a case to some of my friends. See what they say." Lonx offered. Telly nodded, satisfied with that for now.

Enough bargaining and negotiating. It was time to unwind a little before heading back to camp. The jungle village they were in had a series of buildings on either side of the river that ran through it. Numerous bridges connected the buildings across the water and Telly stepped over one to head to his favorite cantina. Most of his forces were either scattered across the galaxy on missions or had their shuttles and bombers parked a little further up river but at this time of the day, one or two could usually be found carousing in the local watering hole. Including one @Chewy - a donut droid who was one of Telly's most prized agents.

The Pau'an had volunteered the droid's services to the bar in exchange for a discount on drinks but he knew the droid and the bar owner hadn't been getting along recently. He hoped that had changed by the time he settled in his favorite booth today.

Jhaa had been on a grueling journey for months, traveling through hyperspace and visiting questionable bars on backwater planets. She was tired and hoping that the journey would soon come to an end. As she sat at the controls of her YT-1000 freighter, she grasped the controls and gently eased them back, causing the ship to come out of hyperspace and back into real space. Jhaa breathed a sigh of relief as she gazed out of the cockpit windows at the pink hues of Ruuria.

Despite her exhaustion, Jhaa's mission was not yet complete. Her target had proven to be more elusive than she had anticipated. Jhaa realized that she needed to adopt a different approach. The target was known to try and gain sympathy for the resistance. Therefore, it was reasonable to suspect that they would try to seek the support of this particular species, despite their unclean reputation.

Jhaa harboured a deep hatred for this species and would have loved nothing more than to inflict as much suffering as possible upon them. However, due to resource constraints and the fact that their world held no significant value for the Empire, she knew that this was not a viable option.

As the ship made a sharp clunking sound and groaned under the immense weight being pulled down by the planet's gravity, Jhaa quickly grabbed her helmet to complete the Mandalorian armour she was wearing. She needed to hide the fact that she was an ISB operative and maintain her cover at all times.

"What works works!" The voice of the cantina owner, Nakam could be heard from the back hollering at someone. A voice replied with a slightly robotic tone that indicated it was from a droid. "Yes, I agree. But does your vocabulary include the word improvement? Things could be better. This drink list needs some spicing up." Chewy, the Crisp-E-O droid was the latest in many arguments with Nakam since arriving. "Just get out there and start serving already. I've got an inventory to check." It sounded like the debate was over, for now.

Chewy exited the back of the bar in what qualified as a huff for the droid. By the time they crossed the threshold into the front of the establishment the machine had ceased shaking his head in disapproval. Seeing their friend Telly arrive would seem to slightly perk the droid's spirits up. "Telly, friend, what can I get you?"

@Fantasy Liver @SilentLeges sorry for the late reply.

"Chewy, how goes the war on flavorless cuisine today, old sport?" Telly chuckled as he took a seat at the Resistance cell's favorite booth. Some of his men were already there. A couple of his Yellowjackets from Yavin, a Mustafaran sniper and a former Imperial defector. They welcomed Telly with the usualy degree of respect a commander elicits. Telly pretended to be too humble for such formalities, though inwardly he was rather flattered. A boost to his ego and a commitment to regulations? Now, that was what good soldiering was all about.

At Telly's words about flavor, the Pau'an caught the cantina owner, Nakam shoot a glare over his way. The Artiodac was someone whose ego also needed stroking and the donut droid had been severely testing both his ego and his patience since the Resistance had come to Ruuria.

"And do try not to nettle Nakam too much. I think he already wants to boot us out of here." Telly whispered to his droid donuteer friend.

"But in the meantime, a choco donut and a caf if you would, chap."

"Ground was lost today but I have not given up." They vocalized optimistically. The Crisp-E-O droid rotated their head one hundred an eighty degrees like a mechanical owl and looked back at the kitchen with what qualified as a judgmental look before finishing the spin and returning back to the front. It was somewhat like an IG unit in that regard, albeit a very short one that dispensed sweet treats rather than death and destruction.

"Very well. I suppose you are right. I should be grateful for their hospitality." Chewy begrudgingly agreed with the resistance commander.

"Coming right up. Do you take anything with your caf, sir?" He would not even head into the kitchen and instead pop out a freshly baked chocolate donut that was practically steaming with freshness. It was followed by a hot cup of dark bitter liquid just as the Pau'an had ordered with any additions request. "Be careful. It's hot."

"How is your day going?"
They asked to pass the time. It was best that they give Nakam some space. There were other patrons to serve and the crisp-e-o droid was happy to be of service. "May I help with anything?"

Jhaa Fatt wasn't the only Imperial who had come onto this little mission. A lieutenant of her caliber warranted a certain level of protection, even on secret missions. As such, she was accompanied today by two Imperial commandos. Obviously, their armor was stripped of markings and they had adopted the accents and mannerisms of traveling spacers but being a soldier was hard to hide.

Especially from other soldiers.

Telly frowned at the buzzcuts of the two men, their upright postures, the way they concealed their blasters. The old Pau'an frowned. Kriff, he was getting tired of people hunting him. When it wasn't the Sith, it was bounty hunters and when it wasn't them, it was the Empire. Granted, they were probably a bit tired of Telly blowing their stuff up and killing them but still, it was rather annoying, all things considered.

"Chewy. Give Naxan a break tonight and clock out early. We need to get on the boat." Telly whispered to the donut droid. It was entirely possible Telly was reading too much into the two large men in the cantina but he hadn't gotten this far alive by not being cautious. Outside, tied up on the dock was a hydroskiff that the Resistance used to get from the cantina up the river to their encampment. His men started to prepare the aquatic craft as Telly nervously cast glances around him on the dock.

Hoping that by landing far away, Jhaa was able to avoid having her cover blown, it wasn't exactly easy to keep it that way with the large men with shaven heads; it gave the impression that she was either military or a bounty hunter. She hoped it differed from the latter, given it would make her mission harder.

Sitting in the Cantina with her drink, sipping quietly, listening to the music. Despite the protest of her bodyguards, she dismissed them back to the ship through the door, where she saw the Pau'an slip out quietly to the docks. She hoped this little maneuver dissuaded him from thinking she was ISB.

The droid leaned in towards Telly as they whispered so they could hear them better and not force the Pau'an to be louder than necessary. "Of course. I'm sure Nakam will be happy to have a break from my suggestions." Maybe they were going fishing, or perhaps something was happening back at camp. Regardless, Chewy left the table and went to inform the Ruurian restaurant owner they were taking off early that day. The large insect did indeed seem to be content with the Crisp-E-O droid's absence. Nakam had plenty of arms to deal with the number of regular customers.

The crew of the hydro-skiff would be mostly done preparing the water craft by the time the droid joined them. Chewy looked at Telly curiously since he seemed to be keeping an eye out for something or someone. "So why do we need to get on this boat?" They did not entirely understand the nature of the situation and expected the Resistance Commander to fill in the blanks.

"It's possibly nothing." Telly murmured as his men untied the hydro-skiff from the dock. Could Telly have helped? Well, yes, but, and this was elitist of him admittedly, he felt that one of the perks of commanders was never having to help set sail again. But though he wasn't bustling with the rest of the crew, Telly wasn't resting with a Tatooine Sunrise in his hands just yet. No, he was standing tall, his eyes peering out over towards the Ruurian town. He saw the two big, bald humans exit the cantina, heading towards the ship.

He could shoot them from here.

Force damn it, why did Mother Udon give him a conscience? Ruuria didn't get many tourists and Telly couldn't shake off the feeling that these two military types weren't here for any good reason. It'd be so easy to just kill them from here. It's what someone like Saw Gerrera would have done. And if he was right and didn't take this shot, a lot more of his men could wind up dying.

He compromised.

Telly whipped out his F-11D rifle, set it on the boat railing and fired one, two stun blasts towards the two humans. They were only just within range and both fell. How long stun blasts from so far against two so big would last was anyone's guess and Telly didn't want to wait around to find out.

"Let's get sailing, sailors!"

The Past... Mission Briefing

Having been briefed on the Pau'an Resistance Commander by other sector leads, it painted a rather grim picture of the task that was ahead of her; any whiff of Imperial activity made him run, while she had wanted to go in alone, like many missions that she had been on, the command had forced her to take a small group of troops with her.

Although it was not an outcome she wanted, it gave her options, with this constant in mind that rebels are attached to the ideals of the Jedi, safety and the security of the local population.

The Present..... The Reign of Chaos

Hearing the thumps of two bodies hitting the decks, the music and voices that filled the cantina stopped for a moment, enough for her to hear the whir of the Repulsorlifts powering up on the skiff; Jhaa knew that the bodyguards had either been shot or stunned, it did not matter, it gave her the excuse she needed. They knew the dangers of this mission; if they were alive, she would not see them until they had completed their mission.

The following events had fallen into place as she had predicted; the local rebel commander sped into the distance, leaving the small town defenceless. This was a weakness that she was looking to exploit enthusiastically. Without letting up, she knew that even with a small squad of Imperial Troops, one of them disguised as an ISB Officer, it was sure to coax the rebel out of hiding.

She gently pressed a button on the com-link on her wrist, accompanied by the grey, drab tunic that helped her blend into the local population.

Within moments, an explosion went off, followed by the glass of the cantina windows shattering, raining down on the floor and close patrons, and screams of women and children; she looked out the window that was now blowing a gentle breeze into her face and smiled at what she saw.

As planned, one of the troopers was wearing the white tunic of an ISB Officer, flanked by three other squad members who joined her at the start of the mission.
