A meeting of enlightment

[Roosto Plen]

It was a fine day on Jedha.Every jedi in the temple were on their posts,doing what they had to do.As per usual,Roosto Plen,a Kel'dor Jedi Consular,was in the library studying some ancient jedi texts and lore.It felt really enlightening to him when he read new texts because to him,Knowledge was power.The library was unusually empty that day and he was the only one inside along with the elder Jedi Master who was in charge of the library.

Enjoying the quiet atmosphere,Roosto was able to study quietly without any distractions whatsover which delighted him.Although that time of the day was the usual time when he was teaching and passing his knowledge onto younger Jedi which were usually new to the order and had limited training.Unusual to him that nobody was there,he was kind of worried but he didnt show it.It probably was an one time thing that he had the chance to study alone.

After quite some time,he eventually finished his studies and got up from the chair he was sitting.He bid farewell to the librarian jedi and headed outside the temple,to the training grounds,where he sat on a bench and meditated.Being silent and concetrating,some other jedi were training on the training grounds aswell,mostly the young ones due to their limited knowledge "Quite the interesting day huh?Strange"The Kel dor jedi thought to himself.

Ekaj stood his lightsaber out as the training ball buzzed around him. making a slight sound as it fired. The first shot was blocked, then the second then the third deflected straight towards a Kel'dor sitting on a bench. The shock of his action distracted him enough that two stining bolts hit him before Ekaj used the force to deactivate to training ball and then his lightsaber.

Quickly moving to the kel'dor knight. "i am so sorry, i was to focused on the task i did not observe my surroundings."

Luckily for the Kel'dor,he noticed and avoided the shocking bolt before it was too late.Then he looked at the young Jedi knight,and he didnt seem to mind what just happened.He remained silent for a moment,thinking of what to say until he finally spoke "Do not apologize young one,everyone makes mistakes.I take it that you are doing saber practice?"The kel dor knight nodded slightly in a form of greeting.

Then he thought on what to say for the young Jedi's accident and scratched his chin,then looked at the boy,inspecting him closely with his gaze."If you want to become a master duelist in the jedi order,you must focus on your surroundings young one,you never know how much of a help that can be.Focus and trust your instincts"The Kel'dor knight said to the young one and observed his moves.

Ekaj nodded his head. "Yes sir i am trying my best to improve my saber skills. Duelling is not my strongest point." Ekaj though on what was said, he knew he struggled on focusing. Either he focused on the nearby and forgot the wide or he focused on the far and neglected the hear and now. Ekaj knew there had to be balance in there some where. But ekaj did chuckle at the last bit. "Who said i wanted to become a master duelist, the force is far strong tool than any lighsaber. Is it not so sir?"

 

[Roosto Plen]

The Kel'dor knight chuckled a bit and then thought on something.Then he spoke again and sounded serious "Of course the force is a far greater tool than the lightsaber.But the lightsaber is the weapon of the jedi knight..You surely know that for a thousand generations the jedi knights used these lightsabers.You must maximize your skill with it,reaching to your best perfomance."The Kel'dor knight emphasized the last bit.

Then he chuckled lightly and looked at the young jedi knight "Also,im not that strong on lightsaber dueling myself..I am a Jedi Consular and my bussiness is mostly diplomacy or knowledge gathering.Although im stronger with the force than a lightsaber,i still know how to use it to my best capabilities.I believe in you young one and you have potential."Roosto said that and observed the young Jedi knight again,taking a small breath through his mouth mask.

Ekaj got a look of seriousness beyond his years. While many a Guardian spent there days training in Jedha Ekaj poured though books "And for a hundred years we raged war that brought the galaxy to ruin and made us hated. No i don't mind if i never use this, symbol of our we have brought ruin. I train with it for i know i may need to use it because one hundred years ago we failed. Sins of the farther."

The Kel'dor knight sighed as he mentioned that.A lot of his fellow jedi werent lingering on the past because the past has passed and it wasnt to be remembered for it may cause bad things to happen.He considered something before talking again "We Jedi are peacekeepers young one.That weapon is your life..You will need it to defend yourself.And dont linger in the past young one.A lot of Jedi dont do it and i do not aswell..Dont let the hate we are receiving as an order get to you.Because if you do,that will be bad for you.And i will tell you something that i personally believe..Knowledge is power"The Kel dor emphasized the last part and then looked around the training grounds,keeping an eye on other young Jedi knights,observing their moves.

Ekaj was confused, he knew knowledge was power, that is why he poured over tombs in the archive but he knew that knowledge is what caused the war. Knowledge was dangerous like all power it was used as a weapon, a though that made Ekaj cry him self to sleep at night. "I know knowledge is power, it is why i study the past. For those who don't study history are doomed to repeat it. i study it so that i may learn to fix the wounds this order caused for we are the only ones who can fix our mistakes.

Roosto sighed and scratched his chin again "I agree with you on that young one.The thing i was meant to say is that dont give in to the past's mistakes.They will lead you to emotion and we both know,there is no emotion,there is peace.Now then,after all of that,i want to see you training.Will be interesting"The kel'dor scratched his chin some more and then looked at the young knight,observing him with his gaze.Then the Kel'dor returned to inspecting the other youngster knights,interested in their methods.After doing so,his gaze returned to Ekaj.

Ekaj blushed red as he knew the Kel'dor was right. He had been preaching of the folly that the order had made has he him self had been making one of the same mistakes. That of letting your emotions take over.


"training with my lightsaber sir, or training with the force." Ekaj noticed the Kel'dor looking at the others training. "I don't fight like a Guardian, nor will I hide behind the walls of Jedah and look at the galaxy suffer"

The kel'dor looked at the young jedi with interest at what he said."I dont think i have introduced myself yet.Im Roosto Plen..And indeed young one,nobody said you should hide behind the walls of Jedha..But dont forget,Dont allow your feelings take over..As for your training you have potential in both the force and the lightsaber.As for the lightsaber combat,you just need to focus.Trust your instincts and remember that There is no emotion,there is peace."Roosto advised the young jedi with growing interest,and observed him now instead of the other knights,wondering how the young jedi would do in his next attempt on the lightsaber

 

[Ekaj]

Ekaj activated the training ball as it came to life with a whiz as it flew up. The first shot was easily blocked as Ekaj brought the blade back in close to maximum defence while needing the least amount of movement. Truth be told the training ball had next to no chance at hitting him. Ekaj trained daily and defending against the attack was literally child's play for him.

Roosto scratched his chin again and looked at the youngster jedi,impressed by his skills.Observing him,he thought about something and then spoke "Try it with advanced difficulty,more shots.I am curious to see how you will go"The kel'dor knight said and inspected how he would do in the next training task.

 

[Ekaj]

Ekaj used the force to increase the fire speed. As he did so he jumped back to give him distance and never let the tiny Droid get close and kept moving back giving him more time to react to each shot. "I have not been hit by this thing in months" the sting he still felt reminded him that was not technically true. "other than just a few minutes ago. But those don't count"

 

[Roosto Plen]

Roosto observed rather interested to the young man's moves.The fire speed was so fast and it was impressive to him that the young jedi could deflect everything.He clapped and then observed the boy's every move "Good,impressive young one.Thats a fine training you have done.You may rest now if you wish.Impressive"The kel dor said and then scratched his chin again.

 

[Ekaj]

Ekaj once again used the force to deactivate the training device as he returned his lightsaber to his waist. "thank you, though fighting a drone like this is not hard and I fear does not represent real fighting all that well."

The kel'dor knight chuckled lighty and got up,going over to the young jedi,patting his shoulder "Dont worry young one,even if it is just a droid,it is still experience.You will need it for the days that come and in you i see a lot of potential.You will be fine,dont worry"He patted his shoulder again and took a deep breath through his oxygen mask

Ekaj had to agree that some experience was good. But the only thing worse than a lie was a half truth. "yes and if the enemy fire at me in a predictable way I shall be ready. Though truthful the best battle is won with out a fight."

The Kel'dor nodded slightly and thought before speaking again "Indeed..We must ensure that there is no bloodshed,and if we fail then we must force our hand sadly.Although we must act peacefully because we do not want fighting"The kel'dor emphasized on the word peacefully
