A Mystic’s Guide is a small work of art, I really must admit. It’s taken some doing, getting all these scraps of information in here but boy howdy is she ready for reading. This is dedicated to Super-Bill and Dale, that their memories might live on eternally.

Foreword-

First of all, my dear readers. I did NOT write the majority of this book. No. It was found deep in cryostasis in a cave that dated back millennia, but yet somehow defied convention. Turns out it was a temporal paradox, maybe even from an alternate dimension... but I digress. I stole the damn thing and added to it.

It’s a small editorial piece, I guess, if you could call it that. It’s more of a random series of tidbits and information concerning this beautiful Galaxy of ours. From how to tame your first wild Lothal Cat, to communicating with your ancestors from beyond the grave - this truly does have it all.

Keep in mind, dear readers, that the truth is often up to interpretation. Why reveal a secret, when a perfectly good deception will do? It is for that reason that I have not debunked any of the myths contained herein, but rather present them to you as they were originally written. I hope you enjoy.

This book contains the living summary of recorded knowledge as it pertains to my discovery and pursuit of the mystic arts. These things share many names and are host to many horrifying tales of warning, shrouding deeds of inhuman power behind myth and fable. Whatever the truth was, since the age of a small child I had been drawn to uncovering it. The contents of this book may read like the delusions of a madman, but to someone who understands its contents and their power I deliver this warning;

Tread carefully on the path I walked, and please heed my advice as to avoid the mistakes I made. Though we humans might never truly attain the power of arcane, divine or mystic properties as we would hope, humans are still capable of using this knowledge with great power. Though it will not be as you expect, and the journey to find the answers you seek will be long and painful - humans alone are capable of spiritual perfection, unique in their ability to perceive this world and that beyond it. Do not seek after this knowledge for the hope of destruction, or you will find that it will backfire and right itself. You’ll find no mention of my name in this book, but I’ll be referencing plenty of my own experiences, so beware of that.

Prelude: The War of the Space Wizards

Would you believe that since the discovery of the Force and our ability to manipulate it, there has been conflict? Yes. Even before we knew of it, we fought each other and we barely understood why. Perhaps it was out of logic, or emotion - or perhaps our baser instinctual need for lust and greed and envy. But the story remains the same, no matter the event, no matter the time or place. The Eternal Cycle of the Force, both living and cosmic, continues its rhythmic rowing through the rivers of time.

Yes, child, even before you or I came to be, the Force was focused solely on a balance act that spanned the breaths of creation itself. For those who would use it’s power served to seek others, or perhaps themselves - but never the Force.

As such, there became known to be two distinct groups that wielded such mystical power. The Jedi Order, evolved from the ancient Jed’aii - and the Sith Empire. Evolved from their namesake species with the help of renegade Jed’aii. Since their foundation the paired religions have brought conflict and destruction to the Galaxy and each other.

Some two thousand years ago, perhaps longer still, the very first of the Sith Empires was born. Nominally known as the Empire of the First Sith, but more commonly referred to as Andraste’s Era. In these dark days the Sith heeded the call of their dark Empress to bring oppression throughout the Galaxy. Many notable figures popped up during this era, which will be covered further along.

But from Andraste’s Era came an Era of Revelation. The Sith Empire held on to its grip for some time but it was eventually replaced by the Jedi Order - and more prominently, the High Republic. A joining of many systems under a single elected democratic system, with the Jedi serving as the de facto heads of government. This of course changed over time, and eventually a number of diplomats and politicians would call the offices of the High Republic home. It was in this era that gave rise to the Great Hyperspace Wars. A never ending conflict between Jedi and Sith until all at once, the Empire vanished. And nobody could quite tell where they had gone.

Then came the Era of Retribution. A hero of the High Republic, known only as the Revanchist - was convinced that the Mandalorians had declared war due to darker machinations. Against the Jedi Council’s wishes, the Revanchist and his followers went to war with the Republic Military against Mandalore. After the war was over, The Revanchists had become a cult of sorts with the original now calling themselves “Revan”.

Revan left known space with the majority of his forces and a contingent of highly trained Jedi for Force knows what reason. But history well knows the story of his return as a newly minted Sith Lord, with his apprentice Darth Malak and a nearly unstoppable army at his side.

to be continued later...

The Masters and the Pupils

Every student of mysticism will find themselves in the thrills of a mentor someday. You’ll find it happens quite by accident, or by purpose, but nonetheless your journey will only ever go so far alone. Below are my teachers, and I their student, and below them are those I’ve taught. Those with a * beside the name have had their identity altered.

Moth* - Moth was a lot of things at many points in my life. He taught me the most about how to come back from a spiritual awakening and a mental break. I learned martial arts, summoning circles, the elements, Daoism, and an infinite number of knowledge from him. However, I learnt Chaos from him, becoming a Chaote and later returning to Balance. He remains my most long-standing teacher.

Bobcat* - Bobcat was actually a member of my family. We were on relatively good terms most often, and through then I learnt about White and Black magicks, blood magick and voodoo. They were a darker sort than any other mentor I’d ever had, and my studies under them came to a very quick close.

Wolf* - Wolf was what I can only describe to be Wrath incarnate. He used whatever focus he had to become almost unstoppable when he was angry. Though we were friends and usually rivaling each other, he taught me how to harness my pain and focus it into something useful. We haven’t spoken in years as a result of the rivalry we shared.

*Tawny Owl - This old man knew more about The Force than I could even dream about. He taught me anything I asked about, and through him I learned of the Host, the names of Jedi - and my own private study on the names of Sith. He remains a source of knowledge in my pursuit of Theology to this day.

*Bat -This one is interesting of sorts. Not really a formal mentor as you’d understand it, but I learned a lot just by listening to him talk. His theories on existing theology and spirituality were very interesting, and a lot of my formal beliefs and theories today are based on some of the knowledge he imparted. We speak sporadically, when time and circumstance align.

*Craft - Craft was a friend of my brother’s, who always found my stories and magic interesting. At the time I mostly focused on religion, so everything I ended up teaching was purely theology. However from what I’ve been told she learned a lot about The Force (or at least how I viewed it).

*Storm - This name is almost a joke if you knew them. They weren’t strictly a student as much as we studied together, and his nickname was well earned. His focus was on electricity and the theoretical scientific application of mysticism by looking to myths and fables that could potentially hold truth. He inspired me to do the same and sift through stories to find whatever knowledge might be useful and hidden.

*Mason - The nickname says it all. This guy was a patient in my ward when I was in the hospital, was released days after I arrived. He continued to volunteer and be around however, and when we spoke he revealed to me that he was a member of the Church of the Force. We haven’t spoken in length, due to my rightful fear of cult association. But he is nonetheless a source of knowledge and peerage.

Theoretical Scientific Applications?

I’m going to leave this section open for interpretation for now. This is the very first part of actually recording anything at all. It’ll take time to come up with a proper theory.
