Hey there Rangers,

For those who haven't seen in the suggestions thread, I proposed the idea of using some form of long-lost derelict as the new home of the Rangers following the Day of Salt and Water, and the idea seems to have struck something with folks. This thread is to bounce around some ideas for the ship. As of right now, I have a bit of a description and some slapped together fluff we can use, but this thread is meant to really flesh out what could possibly become our new home!

So far, this image has proved the favorite after the downed star destroyer from the new movie, which we can't really use effectively given it has no real reason to be out on Zonju and be there long enough to have been a legend. If anyone else has any images, please let me know!

Names, locations, amenities, and any other ideas are what I'm looking for, so let's brainstorm!

Ready, set, GO!

Also note the hope is to have several homes by the end of this and think smaller in terms of quantity as opposed to putting all our eggs in one basket

Noted! Hmmm...would something more akin to an abandoned mining complex work better? Something far, with access to other amenities? As cool as the ship is, it would be a gambit given the Cartel's resources.

EDIT: I suppose, as faction leader, the better question would be what would you like to see develop? I have a bunch of ideas bouncing around, but your input on what you'd like to see might help narrow some things down.

Well be using Zion as a main headquarters as well as establishing a western town on the ruins of the city Jesse Sarc once lived in. Beyond that I want to see Saloon safehouses built on many rim worlds and independent areas. Any efforts into establishing those, recruiting, and getting us cash are all welcome to me

I keep hearing about this Zion; where is the thread detailing it located?

That island water world style planet needs to be looked at. I still want Jake to go there.

Thanks SoB! I've been hunting for it since someone mentioned it in the suggestions thread. Ok, then this thread is a bit obsolete; while all the cool ideas we can come up with are no doubt useful, we do have a priority at the moment! XD We can always come back to it if need be.

Not really obsolete. You need to hash out our you getting to Zion. I mean the place is technically impossible and is super duper hard to find.

Well in that case, since only a few active characters know of its existence...do we have some sort of plan to make that pilgrimage Duke? I mean, I'm all for wandering in the desert and all...but given my characters only rough start with the Rangers, he may have heard of the folktale of Zion, but nothing really to be concrete, and he's no pathfinder. As far as the other bases and recruiting, that's something I'm sure will come in due time and I'll certainly help out with that when the time comes!

Those swept up in the fighting are going to be split into three groups, those following Jesse to establish a new town, those traveling with Zaylos to go to Zion and those moving with Latte to go where he fuggin wants to go

Jaron is kind of tied down by where Vash wants to go then. We should go to Zion, it sounds like a fun journey. Or the Western town. I like western towns. :5:

So, clarification; is Zion a location on Zonju V?

About the ship idea, and this might be a bit out there; it COULD be that the Rangers find a derelict ship on the surface, that is in bad shape, but not completely wrecked, and they decide to try and whip it back into shape to create a flying, "Wild Western"-y version of a spaceship as a mobile Ranger platform. It could serve as one of their bases, and all the missions around that base could revolve around the very long process of rebuilding it.

For sure! Yes, Zion is like the Lost City of Zonju. I like western towns too, but I figure once we get this battle done, we will figure out the destination!

I like that idea with the mobile base, however, as far as naval personnel, what do the Rangers have? I mean, jury-rigging an atmospheric speeder is one thing, but flying into space with a patchwork vessel, especially in the Rim... *shudders*

Rome wasn't built in a day. First we find and establish it. Turn the tub into a base of some time. Later we can find allies like the Jedi or KES or anyone who might have the ability to assist in making it space worthy. But that can and should be a much later arc. Zion is going to be the main base sure but I still like this ship idea.

Getting back to the topic of brainstorming. What if we make it and old droid ship from the clone war era. Would give us a scrap yard of droids and tech to work with to rebuild our forces?

I am sure ZeeGear would help repair said droids for you. For a price of course.

All the ideas! Keep 'em coming. I like the idea of droid tech, but I dunno...doesn't necessarily seem to 'Ranger' to me. Also, given that Zonju's people pretty much exist on salvage, any droid ships would be a veritable gold mine and you can be damned sure whoever has one in their control has either picked it clean, or is unwilling to give it up without some kind of hard-line defense.

I agree Taz, rome wasn't built in a day! I'm loving all of these ideas, but I think most of them are gonna be later arcs, once the rangers have gotten themselves reestablished.

The Rangers can still be cowboys and have some relevant tech, especially If we're going to keep butting heads with the Cartel. Truth is Starburns and Kyzer have hardly touched the resources the Hutts have in and around Zonju V, and if we plan to expand the Ranger's influence off world there is the chance of attracting attention from the Sith Empire. A six gun is not going to stop a Sith Lord, or Bee
