Randon was a new planet to Artorigas, granted much of the galaxy was new to him. His life revolved around Serenno as a child and young man and since his elevation into the Sith, it had only expanded slightly to cover the small amount of worlds that the reborn empire covered. Even though the planet was new the people where not, like everywhere they had simple needs and simple desires and Randon appeared to be a place for your desires.

Yes it had its uptown areas, full of shiny office buildings were many a citizen sat on their arse and earned millions doing it, but much of the rest of the planet was built for the common folk, those who worked sixty hours a week just to live and whatever else they had at the end of that week was spent on excess. The planet itself was to much for the young Sith, he preferred the quiet, open spaces and the fresh smell of the wild. Not the loud, claustrophobic and disgusting smells of a metropolis such as this. But needs must and he had need.

He was tired of waiting and watching as his family wasted away what little they had, a time ago he would have just shrugged his shoulders and went with it, relaxed in the knowledge that most of what he ever needed would be paid for by the families holdings. But his exposure to the Sith, their teachings and their knowledge had opened him up to the folly of his blood. No, he needed to take action to save his family and his lineage from their self destructing ways. It was ironic, as he dwelled on his he watched a man in a nearby alley shoot himself up with all kinds of spice. A way to get out of his life, Artorigas assumed.

It was early evening, the tops of the buildings around him still lit by the falling sun, the ground around him lit by the hundred artificial lights which tried to sell him everything he could ever want in the galaxy. Though the one thing he was here for was not purchasable from this neon lights, he walked into the restaurant he had arranged to meet his contact in, a fancy Hapean Joint a little too good for the surrounding area it seemed by first glance but he would see.

Artorigas took his seat, his three piece suit was dark grey, his white shirt had the top two buttons undone. It was one of his older suits, showing small signs of wear and age better to fit the motif of the lower rungs of Randon. A shallow weeks growth of beard sat on his face, his hair pulled back and a blaster holster shown under his suit jacket. Again a sign more to fit in with the crowd than to intimidate anyone, his lightsaber had been left back on the Wyvern sat on some mid-town dock Cydric probably listening away to his Post Modern Republic Jazz. A waitress placed a holo-pad down in front of him with the menu, leaving a second on the seat opposite as he waited for his contact. "Perhaps the soup?"

It had only been earlier that day that someone had approached Vako looking for a meeting. Lot's of people lived in the galaxy, and only some were currying a reputation that carried more than one planet. Vako was incidentally becoming one of such people. A ruthless reputation for rough tactics was not giving rise to a series of business arrangements that were making him better known than any action he had taken with a blaster. That was good in some ways, but others would see it as an easy an lucrative mark. That was not something he could afford, so he made sure that same ruthless reputation was maintained from time to time to keep upstarts away.

On a nearby moon Vako had acquired a large amount of weaponry for shipment and sale. The facility that they were in was owned by pirates that had been sadly affected by the plague. With them not precisely able to defend their horde, Vako had stepped in to make better use of it. It was like a pure salvage claim, that just needed a bit of sterilizing before being brought onto the ship. No real issue.

A landspeeder came by to drop him off, manned by unsavory looking people. They remained outside, on the promise Vako wouldn't be long... but if he lied, they didn't have much of a choice but to wait. Then Vako made his way in to the Hapean eatery, his eyes scanned for who he was there to meet. A well dressed human sat down able to see him, and with the way he was looked at Vako assumed this was the right person.

"Jutr'o'to kat." Vako said to a server, and pointed forward. He wanted a stiff Vralalian drink, and ordered it in Hutteese.

His wings flapped gently kicking up a breeze as he made his way in and sat opposite the well dressed, young human that was not entirely out of place in the establishment, but was a bit out of place given the part of town.

"I am Vako Yizok...I understand you're a buyer." Vako started. "And that I may be selling what you seek." Vako's wings stopped flapping when he took his seat. His manner of dress, in light battle armor and obviously armed image was quite counter to the young human. "Is this true, or am I misled?"

He had been told that the man he was meeting was Todayrian, but to be honest to himself he had never met one of the species in person. He had seen holo's but the real thing was much more interesting to see close up, it was the wings that took his attention more than anything, the rampant actively needed to keep him afloat, just like the sinking ship which was his family estate.

He smiled as the alien took his seat in front of him. "Artorigas Wessex, please to make your acquittance." He replied dipping his head slightly at the grey flying alien. He was not what he expected from the alien, though he should not have been surprised considering he had no real right to expect anything from not only a person he has never met but a species he has never met. The armour was a bit strange, he expected a man of his apparent reputation to not need it, his presence being the only defence he needed.

"Correct I am looking to make a purchase. I understand you have recently come into contact with some self-defence equipment that may be of interest to me any my family?" Artorigas was being coy as the waitress returned with Vako's drink and asked for his own. He ordered a red wine, he did not know the brand but hoped the price tag would give him some measure of its worth. He also ordered some calamari to start and soup their after. He offered Vako if he would like anything and that he would cover the cost as was only fitting, considering he asked him here.

He looked out the window and spotted the vehicle the Vako had arrived in, it seemed he travelled with interesting company. Perhaps the blaster was not such a bad idea anyway, he wondered.

The sustenance that was offered was not beyond Vako to take. Though some stood on pride or ceremony for such things, Vako was the one calling the shots for those that were outside. They were paid well enough just to stand there. Vako was now at a point where he made calls and he reaped benefits. If anyone of the rakes wanted to challenge that, it would be the last rung of the ladder they'd climb.

And so Vako nodded, and take a strong drink of what was before him.

"I suppose that would depend." Vako stated looking to his left, ensuring the spacing was proper on those around them that he wasn't sitting in the midst of an ambush. He was by far the roughest looking character there, so he was not particularly on edge, but a trap was not typically visible. Still the Sector Rangers probably needed him more alive and free than in a cell or dead.

Vako looked back to to the wealthy young human. "Are you looking for self defense for a single person or several people... or several more than several?" Vako did not know what this human would want, but he knew that when they were playing pirates they tended to try to talk in codes. "And it depends if your idea of the best defense being a good offense?"

There was a curiousness at play here, but Vako did need to know what they were talking about to determine what he either had in stock on world... or would have to find a logistical pattern to equip this young human.

The wine returned first and the food would follow shortly, Artorigas hoped that they could get most of the difficult business out of the way by the time the food was here. It would taste much better if they did not have to deal with the coy words and frosty atmosphere of an early proposal whilst he was eating.

The wine was, ok. He easily has had better back on Serenno but for a rather interesting middle world such as Randon this was pretty good for a middle of the road eatery. He nodded along to the Todayrian's words, it seemed that riddles were the name of the game until they trusted each other further. Taking another small sip of the wine he placed it back down on the table and crossed his fingers. "Let us say a class of ten to fifteen, though spares would also be beneficial just encase we have late signups." He smiled at the alien before continuing. "Well as we all know offense is not only a good defence but a good deterrent and we of course don't want things to escalate if we can avoid it."

Uncrossing his hands and taking another sip of the wine, he continued. "I would of course need a delivery service as well, I have taken only public transport to get here you see."

The drink Vako was having was, very good. This put him in a better mood than he might otherwise have been in meeting a relatively unknown buyer. He hardly knew anything about the young one before him other than he appeared to have a degree of wealth. He must have if he was able to get ahold of Vako at all. That meant he wasn't likely having his time wasted, but even if it all came to a defaulted loan, Vako wasn't worried... debts could always be collected.

Vako inhaled a breath through his trunk, the nostrils flaring slightly upon his exhale while he listened to what the human needed. It was not a small request, but not an incredibly large one either. It was even easier as he was only talking about the equipment and not the bodies to fill them. It was always harder to find people that were willing to put on armor and weapons and die for something than it was to get the equipment itself. Anyone could be handed a thousand credits to shoot, but whether they were accurate enough to hit anything or brave enough to stand while getting shot at was a different story.

"That can all be handled." Vako nodded, stretching his lips over his tusks. "I suppose it depends on what your price margin is. I could put fifteen pistols in a box and drop it off anywhere with the power cells for a full day... or I can get you a container for half a platoon of Republic Security forces troopers. Armor, rifles, sidearms, explosives, and maybe even some transports to go with it. It all depends on what you're really looking for... and maybe what you're looking to do with it."

It seemed the coyness was out the window and Artorigas was thankful for that, it reminded him to much of the politcla games the nobles played back on Serenno, out here in the wider galaxy he preferred to talk straight. It just got things done quicker, easier and with less confusion. He was about two thirds of the way through the wine, it was going quicker than he thought it seems. Perhaps he should slow down, he was not afraid of getting intoxicated it was only a few glasses, but he didn't want to appear like a drunkard in front of the Todyarian.

"The items are mainly for show, I hope that they are not even fired, but if they do, I would look for good quality. Because of this I believe rifles would be the best option, what kind of options do we have?" Placing the glass down, he needed to stop taking a mouthful between sentences. "Armour, is not needed, nor is the explosives or transportation. I hope to cause little to no damage when the time comes and and I can handle the later myself." He smiled and sat back as he finished. Hopefully if this could come together he was one step closer to his goal.

The young human seemed to be somewhat comfortable by the amount he was drinking so quickly. Vako thought about doing so in kind, but what was the point? A Toydarian's metabolism was so high that to feel the intoxicating affect he needed something stronger than what he had and certainly more of it. That was not something he was willing to jump to at the moment, so he continued to exam the human.

Whatever his purpose was it seemed quite unusual by comparison to the typical customer. Vako was more used to people that wanted to murder someone very publicly and directly. He did not exactly deal in silent armaments. So in the case of this one, he was very curious as to what the real purpose was in mind here.

"Rifles are easy." Vako noted. "Ten to fifteen rifles... just as easy. But if it is just for show then maybe you don't need them at all. You can pay ones like that a hundred credits a day for show, and they'll probably just bring their own."

He wasn't trying to put himself out of the job, but Vako in no uncertain terms was trying to sus out the purpose of this transaction. Something about this young human was odd. He wasn't just some rich kid, he had a mission in mind. But what he could not say, but it was one that emboldened him enough to willingly conduct business with one of the most dangerous organizations in the galaxy without even flinching.

"It is a show as I wish to avoid bloodshed, both at the moment of opportunity and there after. I need permeant use of them, so unfortunately hiring someone for a short amount of time is no good. I am afraid." Artorigas replied, his plan would only work if it was quick and as bloodless as possible, slow and bloody even if it succeeded in the goal was a failure and would ruin anything else he had planned for the future.

To make matters more difficult for the young Acoylte they needed to stay bloodless for as long as possible, the longer they did the easier it would become overtime to the point where he would no longer need this small show of strength. But by then he hoped to have much bigger things in mind, perhaps he would be back on the Todyarians door asking for a much bigger shipment than two dozen rifles. Artorigas finished the glass in his wine and raised his hand to the waitress to fetch him another. "What kind of hardware can you muster? I would like to agree to the model before we arrange delivery."

This young human spoke far more properly than most Vako interacted with. This made the Toydarian suspect that he was some rich individual from the Core Worlds given his accent. But it was impossible to tell. So many people from all over the galaxy spoke in so many different ways. Still it was on the tip of Vako's tongue that this man was from a wealthy background and was looking a new sort of life, perhaps one beyond his depth.

Upon a request to see product, Vako had only one item in mind. It was his own weapon of choice and one could not get enough of them once they had them.

Reaching to his side, Vako unslung his own rifle. It went with him everywhere. A small reminder of his brief time in the military, but one that was more practical than wandering the galaxy wearing a uniform or medals. The weapon was black with a shined silver barrel, a hollowed stock, and a few accessories attached to the weapon.

"The
E-11D is as good as it gets." Vako set the weapon on the table. "Weight, balance, range, fire rate, and power have hardly been improved on by any weapon for a century. They may not be the newest weapons, but they are reliable in all the right ways." Vako offered the weapon to the youth before him.

Waiting for him to place hands on it Vako continued. "It's ideal for someone who knows what they're doing... or someone who doesn't and is just going to be around... for show."

Artorigas watched as the young waitress was returning with his second glass of wine and the food he had ordered, though at the sight of the rifle being pulled out and put onto the table she made an about turn and headed straight back to the kitchen. He smiled, he would give the women a few extra credits for the shock when all was said and done.

Reaching over Artorigas picked up the rifle, he wasn't an expert when it came to firearms only having a mild education in them during his childhood and teens and his later life was anything but blaster friendly. He looked it over, it seemed in fine condition and well kept, he had heard of the E-11D, it was a pretty standard rifle across militaries from what he can remember and he always served them well. He placed the weapon back on the table and pushed it across to the Todayrian. "Thank you, I would ask you re-holster that I think you have scared a few people." He motioned over to the waitress who was by the door to the kitchen a, Aqualish cook stood just behind her staring intently at the pair.

"The E-11D would work perfectly, now cost and delivery? I would need them sent to a secure warehouse I have access to on Serenno." When the weapon was away he motioned for the waitress to return with his food and drink.

"Serenno"

The name of the planet was one that Vako was familiar with. He had not been there, but had heard of it from others. Rich people and noble types. A back stabbers paradise, not entirely familiar to someone like Vako. He came from the places where treachery was loud and exposed, and almost exclusively for profit. Noble sorts of people believed they were doing things for the greater good. Taking the laws of nature into their own hands.

Those types of people were very dangerous. While they did have lots of money.... they were extremely dangerous and could hold grudges. Half of the bounties on the boards were put up by such people that felt cheated and wronged, and they had more than enough money to keep those feuds going for generations.

That was something Vako was not going to take a chance on.

The Toydarian slung the weapon, entirely unconcerned about the patrons. He came from places where weapons were so entirely common that it was strange that these people felt safe walking without them.

"I can hand them off at two thousand a piece, plus another ten for the silent delivery." Vako did not doubt that this youth had access to forty thousand credits, and that price was far from extortion given the act.

Vako looked at the youth with eyes that did not hide that he was guessing at the purpose of what this human would be planning. And failure would lead anyone to look for the one that gave him the weapons. Two squads worth of serious weapons that appear out of no where in the hands of followers of a Serenno citizen? Someone would ask... and someone would be blamed at every level.

The price itself was not crazy and was something that he could cover, he had around that himself let alone the fact he could now more easily acquire more wealth due to his station within the Sith. Artorigas was sure that if he wanted too he could confiscate a small freighter and sell it on without much notice or bother from the authorities. Spice was also an easy thing to steal and sell on when The Force backed you up. But even so he was not going to except the first price right out of the boat, he did not want to seem like an easy target for the Todayrian, last thing he needed was the alien adding extra money on at the last minute.

"How about fifteen hundred a piece and seven for delivery, the warehouse is remote so you will have no ground based customs to deal with. You only need to get through the traffic controls when dropping from orbit." Artorigas replied, the food and drink arrived, he took another long sip of the wine before picking up the first piece of calamari and popping it into his mouth. He offered the alien a piece as well before taking another. Artorigas knew Vako was eyeing him up, trying to discover his true worth and if this transaction was worth the price. Not only the physical price but potential ramifications their after of dealing with the young man, he had given away some of his purpose with the mention of his home world. The Todayrian was not dumb, he would have figured out it had something to do with their nobility on the planet, even if he didn't know exactly how it tied into Artorigas himself.

He still had one more trick to play if he the alien got shy, but he didn't want to pull it yet, just encase.

The human was shrewd. That was a bit of a surprise. Negotiating with Vako at all meant that he was not afraid of him, nor did he consider that he needed Vako. It was as though he knew he had other options, and that alone was a powerful and dangerous thing. Some younger Syndicate personnel would opt to make threats to walk away or say hateful insults in return.

Vako was not so young and brash as this. He took it for what it was. This human was likely a noble with a plan. And that was not something that Vako was going to get in the way of. In fact he saw it more as an opportunity. Good business was formed by those that respected rather than feared each other. This could be the start of good business.

Fifteen hundred was already a mark up on the weapons price, and a fraction of the seven would pay for the operating cost for delivery. Not and a greatly lucrative deal for Vako, it was true, but it was straight profit and it was practically on his way. It was like getting paid to head home.

The Toydarian smiled "This can be done." Vako noted. "Perhaps... after your show of force... you'd have use for more weapons and business in future." Vako took a long tug from his drink. "If I am correct Serenno falls in with the Sith, and your crusader king will look to plunge into the Free Worlds once more."

Vako did not understand that culture, or who held such power or how, but he did know that soldiers went to war at their king's command.

Artorigas was happy with the price, by the quick acceptance from Vako he could perhaps have pushed lower, but there was no need. They both where happy Vako probably still made a fair few credits on the deal and Artorigas could feel a little better personally and have a few more credits to spend on some wine when all was said and done.

His knowledge of the Outer Rim was good if his analogy was a little off. "Even if he does not have desires I am sure I will have need of your services again in the future. I hope this can be a long and fruitful arrangement." Artorigas smiled and held out his hand to seal the deal, before leaning back as the Soup arrived. "Please, Please order some more drinks, perhaps some food. All on me." He gestured to the alien. "The soup is good." He smiled behind the spoon as he ate the soup.

After he had a few more mouthfuls he stopped and looked up. "I would hope that in the future if anything, interesting, comes into your hands you would consider me as a buyer? I like doing business with people I have dealt with before, are you the same?"

The offer to continue ordering food was well met. Vako sucked down more of the drink that was with him. He brought the server back around and put another drink on the tab and ordered a carnivorous delight that he could chew with his tusks. He did not mind taking something that someone offered. Denying what was offered could be perceived as an insult and he was not in that business, especially when it came to business.

"A good buyer is hard to come by." Vako nodded. "Reliability is becoming less and less reliable in this galaxy, especially in the Syndicates. So I don't mind if it's found elsewhere."

Vako ate the rapidly returned food with his fingers as the dish was intended. It was something that he had developed a taste for on Nal Hutta. Though it was based on a type of worm, it was very good when seasoned right.

"Though I wonder... what big plans you'd have in the future that would require more of such business?"

Artorigas waited a few moments before replying, he felt a burp coming along and the last thing he wanted was to burp in Vako's face halfway through talking. "The Galaxy is a dangerous place and it is only getting worse. If I need to defend myself and my holdings I will need ample protection and sometimes attack is the best form of defence." He said with a smile.

He finished his soup and ordered another glass of wine, it would probably be his last as he didn't want to get tipsy during the conversation and there was a long ride back to the spaceport after this. "I am also a bit of a collector, so I like to keep my eyes out for unique items as well. Be they big or small."

The glass arrived and with it he asked if Vako wanted anything else before requesting the bill from the young women.
