Dasi awoke to what was probably the most beautiful sound she could think of. Nothing. No alarm to wake her up for training, no alarm for classes, just the pure sweet feeling of naturally waking up during the day. It was a day off, and it was hers. She was up out of her bed in a flash pulling on her clothes for the day. Padawan robes? Nope, sweet comfy regular clothing. Combat boots? Nope, today was a day to commune with nature, barefoot it was. She'd have to avoid the hanger where they would insist it was for her safety but that was no big deal, she would be able to avoid it today. She grabbed the lightsaber that the temple had provided and threw it in the bag along with a cloak just incase it decided to rain, and finally grabbed her datapad from its assigned place and shoved it in a random pocket. She had half of her supplies together, she just needed the rest.

Dasi swung the bag over her shoulder and began barreling through the corridors like she was trying to evacuate from a crashing freighter. Headed for a kitchen. Anywhere else, the sight of young togruta running full speed through cramped narrow corridors would be cause for alarm, the sight of a blind one would be cause for disbelief. The temple however had grown used to this young padawan's antics. Reaching the kitchen Dasi filled the rest of her bag with a light meal for todays trip. She had two choices to get to her spot for today, out the front door or out the hangar doors. The hangar exit was closer...

Someone yelled across the hangar. "Dasi! You need to be wearing foot wear if you're going to be in the hangar!" Dasi groaned inwardly and thought to herself. Oh damn it. He is here this week. She couldn't stop now though, that would mean admonishment, or worse, potential chores to ruin her day off. Probably not the Jedi answer to keep running and hope whoever had yelled that would forget about it by the time she returned, but it was more appealing then spending all day in the temple. Dasi soon passed from the hard floor of the temple onto the dirt and grass of the forest. The grass tickled her feet, a wonderful feeling making her feel more attuned with the planet then some stupid pair of boots.

Bird song cut through the air as she reached her final destination for the day. A small clearing far enough away from the temple that she wouldn't have to worry about most people disturbing her but also close enough she could return in a timely manner, hopefully before anyone noticed that perhaps she may have been a bit further then she should have been from the temple. Dasi's first move was to place down a cloth on the ground before pulling out her datapad and starting the audio. She rested her head on her pack before closing her eyes and letting herself fall into the ocean that was the force, or sleep, sometimes it was hard to tell whether she was meditating or sleeping.

STATUS: Investigating fleeing Padawan

Once again Rennek found himself on Ajan Kloss, offering a debrief on the status of his sector as well as updating his superiors on the possibility of a Force Sensitive individual. The person suspected was still a child and belonged to a stable family. As per their mandate they were not to interfere with the childs upbringing and would instead keep a close eye on the child until they were of an older age, or if the Parents were happy for their offspring to serve at the Temple under the watch of the Jedi. This was a decision the higher authorities of the Order would have to make, and Rennek would carry out their wishes. Once his update and brief had been delivered he'd begun to make his way towards his shuttle, a standard Soujorn Class Shuttle given to various Knights. The docking ramp lowered and the R3 protocol droid began to initiate the launch sequence prompting the engines to whine as they warmed up. As he was about to board his vessel a commotion from behind him unfolded as a young Togruta, most likely a Padawan, sprung from the Temple and into the more wild parts of Ajan Kloss. For the most part the Planet inhabited by the Jedi was safe. There were no natural predators or creatures deemed dangerous, but what it did have was questionable terrain. Surrounding them were dense forests teeming with life with cliffs and valleys scattering its surface, and patches of meadow dotting its thick brush. A sigh escaped his weathered lips, usually he steered clear of Padawans and their antics and today should have been no exception.

He turned around and began walking down the loading ramp, lifting the portable comm unit to his lips as his gruff voice instructed the R3 droid "Power it down for now Are Three. Keep it in auxiliary, I won't be long." Annoyed he ventured off in the Padawans general direction, using his arms to push aside the dense vegetation as he extended mental tendrils to seek the youngling. Rennek understood the unique complexities put before the Jedi Order. With the influx of new initiates who had officially become Padawans, and the decline of experienced Knights to guide them, the Temple became a sort of long term semi-permanent homestead for its newer members more akin to a boarding school. It was no surprise when agitated learners broke from the constrictions of the Temple. Regardless, the more inexperienced members had to be reigned in so a modicum of order remained. The surrounding flora made it hard for him to approach quietly and he hoped his noisy advance did not prompt the Togruta to flee again. He was in no mood for tag or hide and seek.

"The Temple can become quite suffocating" he said as he closed in, his gaze fixed on the relaxing barefooted girl "But ignoring your classes is ill advised, Padawan"

The young padawan found herself awake at the sound of someone speaking to her. Ooh, busted. Time to handle this delicately. Dasi hopped to her feet turning the audio on her datapad off. Her mind raced through excuses for being out this far from the temple. Missing pet? No. Assignment? To easy to figure out it was a lie. Checking the sensor net? She was blind, they would send someone else. She had nothing. "You see Master. I was just... That is to say..." Yep, nothing she could use as an excuse. She sighed and resigned herself to simply tell the truth. If she couldn't figure out an excuse she might as well tell the truth. That might lower the punishment "I'm sorry Master. I know I shouldn't be this far from the... "

Wait a second. Did he just ask her why she wasn't in classes? That was a far simpler answer. Maybe he hadn't noticed how far from the temple they were. She coughed hoping he wouldn't notice her trailing off in her sentence. "There are no classes for me today Master. I was using my day to meditate out here with nature." She gave him the most innocent looking smile she could. Time to exfiltrate from the situation before he noticed anything amiss. "I should probably head back to the temple Master. I think it may rain." Hopefully there was actually a cloud in the sky. She grabbed her bag and placed the datapad inside its assigned spot before slipping it onto her back. She gave a bow and slowly started slinking away.

STATUS: Investigating fleeing Padawan

The Jedi Watchmans gaze followed the Torguta as she stumbled from the ground to her feet, offering the Knight apologies. A sigh escaped his lips, memories of his own time as a Padawan flooding his thoughts along with the two companions he shared a Master with. A lifetime ago he thought. His attentions were turned to the young woman as she corrected him, stating that she had no lessons or classes for the day and instead decided to trek to the Planets wilderness for meditations. Warily he raised an eyebrow, staring directly her way while he crossed his arms over his chest. He doubted what she said was true despite the innocent smile she beamed. What gave her away was not the stumbling, or the excuses or even her attempt at a hasty retreat. What gave her away was her presence in the Force. She aura was shuttering, uncertain and inconstant but there was no malice, only an underlying innocence. She was just a Padawan trying to escape the constrictions and rules imposed by the Order and its temple. He could relate. It was one of the few reasons he branched out once he completed his trials and became a Jedi Knight, prompting to guard and monitor a sector instead of partaking in the Orders peace talks and negotiations.

As she bowed and began to slink away his gruff voice with a heavy Corrilean accent spoke, his voice booming in comparison to the surrounding ambience "Slow down there Padawan. I'm not YOUR Master, nor are you my Padawan so any retribution is beyond my hands. And although it is frowned upon for a learner to venture this far away from the Temple without supervision or permission, it is not an outright rule." he motioned for her to retake her seat as he propped himself against a fallen tree, its log providing sufficient and surprisingly comfortable seating. Rennek continued with his line of dialogue "In fact, any Knight or Master who claims to have followed the Orders rules equivalently during their apprenticeship is a liar " he chuckled "Though they would deny it if approached. So Padawan. What brings you to the wilderness of Ajan Kloss with enough haste to match a fleeing bantha? With her lightsaber to boot" he glanced over to her coyly, almost teasing her as he felt her nerves spike at his arrival.

So close, yet so far away. The young togruta stopped mid step and pivoted on one foot to present herself to the Corellian. Oh he was good. Although almost no one fell for the whole "I should go" routine. She had some doubt about using any other tricks to sneak off. It was time for plan B. Give in and hope the old man would only mentor her half to death rather then all the way. He motioned for her to sit down so she did. Finding a decent enough stump she sat down and began to steel herself. She couldn't be sure how long he would "mentor" but she had the feeling she would require all her will to stay awake. Then he surprised. Claiming that no Knight or Master was as innocent as they would claim. There was no way. "You're telling me that any Master that claims innocence is lying?" She crossed her arms. "I have a few doubts about that. You don't seem like a troublemaker for one."

She slipped the bag from her shoulder and put it down in front of her before digging into it. She decided to answer his second question first. "I was told "Dasi, this weapon is your life and more importantly don't lose it. Besides, better to have it and not need it then need it then not have it. I am out here in the woods alone." There was her lightsaber, a temple provided one, right in its dedicated pocket as always. She held it in both hands for a moment before placing it on her lap. One day she would have one that would be truly hers. Hopefully. "As for why I'm out in the wilderness? Have you ever stopped to just listen to nature? Its beautiful. Relaxing. I can feel truly at home out here with nothing in the way." It was rather odd if she had to say so. Normally if someone talked to her she'd give them maybe a word, maybe five if the person was lucky. But for some reason she didn't mind talking to this old man. "My name is Dasi by the way. What do you do? I don't think I've seen you around before." She snickered inwardly. For some reason it that always amused her no matter how many times she asked it.

He simply shrugged. She genuinely seemed surprised at his claim, and he was sure it was correct for the large majority of the Jedi who practiced "Don't sound so surprised. Although there are perhaps a handful of Jedi who have walked the path without sway, I'd wager most within the Order have struggled with its teachings and instruction. We are of course no different from any other save for our connection to the Force. We still have ambitions, feelings and Force forbid emotions. We simply struggle in our own unique ways. And my Master would disagree with you. I'd wager I hold an unofficial title for most rebukes and rebuttals." he chuckled again. The Corellian listened to the Togruta as she explained her reasons for carrying her lightsaber around, and she had stumped him as she repeated the same mantra his own Master drilled into him when he was a Padawan. She was correct. It was common practice for a Jedi, Knight or Padawan, to carry their lightsaber with them at all times and treat it as an extension of their own person. He admitted his fault "You have me there. Let it never be said that the teacher cannot learn from the student" his fingers running through his greying blonde hair.

Rennek thought about her question and pondered hard on his answer. The last time he truly remembered admiring his natural surroundings were his days as a leaner, keen and willing to absorb everything around him. It was needless to say that age had stifled his curiosity in that respect. He answered her line of inquiry, his voice hinting at his uncertainty I was one of three Padawans taught together by my Master. One of my fellow students was Miraluka and although she was physically blind, her senses extended further through the Force. She absolutely loved nature and was often distracted by native flora and fauna when abroad. She was so in tune with her surroundings, so much so that she could detect the slightest inconsistencies when we were in the field" the small smile that crept along his face slowly dimmed as his cerulean gaze dropped to the dirt under his feet "My interest in nature died with her" for a moment he stared at the ground, lost in thought and memory that once bore him great pain. Age and time eroded those regrets, but it was a harsh lesson to learn.

Realizing he had delved far deeper into his memory than he would have liked, he looked at Dasi as she introduced herself. Suffice to say the joke did not go over his head. An unintentional laugh escaped his mouth and once again the small smile was present "I am Rennek Vaal, a Watchman over the Corillea Sector. Most of my time is spent out on the field. I return to the Temple from time to time when required. It is my duty to Watch over the sector and keep an eye out for those with a Sensitivity to the Force. If they decide to join our Order I deliver them here". In fact he had just made such a transfer, a young adolescent Rodian who once roamed the Planets streets. It was difficult to detect those in tune with the Force among a dense population, especially when strong emotions conflicted with one another. Sometimes it took a lot of luck and a little bit of diligence to find those individuals.

Rennek glanced at the Padawan, feeling a sense of familiarity. Whether it was her blindness, love of nature or both he was unsure. "And what of you Dasi? Unlike the days of old, potentials are no longer coerced into our Order. Why did you decide to join? And do you know how to use that" his weathered index finger pointed to her lightsaber.

Dasi frowned as the old man recounted his story of his apprenticeship. She didn't mean to bring up something like that. "I'm sorry Master. I didn't know." She thought very hard about what she was gonna say next. She didn't want to hurt him more, but she felt it had to be said. "But I don't think she would have wanted that. If she loved nature as you say she would have realized death and conflict are part of nature, they hurt, but they give us reason to grow and become better." The young Togruta let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. She thought she could feel tension in the air, although she may have just been imagining it. She tried to clear it out to avoid a potentially awkward silence. "I'm sorry Master. I should have just stayed quiet."

The look of relief on her face when they moved on to his introduction was almost comical. She leaned in when she learned that he was a Watchman of all things. "Wait. So you get to explore an entire sector? Not trapped in the temple losing your mind?" She could feel herself getting excited, before she knew it she was on her feet. A thought occurred to her. "Does that mean you have your own ship? That you fly?" She was almost squealing at this point. At some point she had cleared half the distance between her and the Watchman without realizing it. Then he disarmed her by turning the questions back on her. She quickly swatted them away. She wanted to talk about flying. "I was in an orphanage on Kiros before I joined the Order. I didn't really have a choice, the most I could have done was maybe work in a shop or something. But with the force I could be so much more. I can see around me with the force. I can see the leaves in a tree, or the tree you're sitting on. I still won't get the appeal of colors but here I can be better. As for the lightsaber, they really didn't give me much choice. But who cares about that. Tell me about your ship. Is it fast? What is it like?"

Rennek brushed aside her guilt, his features ensuring her that his past had been dealt with in accord. Instead he looked to the sky, a deep breath of air filling his lungs. On his exhale he spoke again "The wisdom of youth " he was neither contradicting nor making light of her revelation. In truth he was surprised at her astuteness, something he wish he had in his younger days. In truth he and his fellow remaining student had struggled with her passing to the point where they were in open conflict. It resulted in an exchange of blades stopped only by their Masters interference "But you are correct, her passing was the natural order of things. Death is a cycle of life, as conflict is to peace. It took me years to figure that out. I dear say I was alot older than you before I realized it." the atmosphere grew lighter as the Jedi Knight relaxed in his seat, allowing a more sunny disposition to highlight his mentality. If the Padawan was worth her salt she'd detect the shift. To further ensure that he bore no ill towards her he accepted her apology, further adding "An inquisitive mind should be nurtured not concealed. I'll not rebuke you for asking questions."

Unexpectedly the mood immediately lifted upon revealing his role within the Order. Even more surprising was her interest. He understood why. When he was more or less her age he had felt the same way. He was discovered on Corellia by the Watchman of his Sector and his origins were somewhat similar to Dasis. He too was an orphan and was uplifted from poverty and delivered to the Jedi Order. As a youngling he despised being locked within the temples walls, forced to study and follow the curriculum enforced by his Master. But when they were dispatched to different systems he was at the peak of his excitement. Rennek understood Dasis curiosity all too well. He indulged her barrage of questions, his Corellian accent cutting through each word of Galactic Basic with practiced ease "Not so much explore as patrol. I try to work closely with the Sectors Ranger and Planetary authorities and in turn I stay away from their affairs unless called upon. But yes, my presence around the Temple is minimal at best. I return when summoned or if I've found a potential candidate" he reached into his belted cache, pulling a datapad from its contents. He was about to open the holocron, revealing the specifics of his ship when he reminded himself of her inability to physically see. He was unsure of her ocular abilities through the aid of the Force so instead proceeded to describe the vessel to her "And yes, I have a ship. Without it I'd be a piss poor Watchman" a light chuckle filled the air "She's a SCS-20 Sojourn Class Shuttle, specifically produced and distributed for the Jedi Order incorporating a large delta wing with and under-slung fuselage. It comes equipped with a Class 1 hyperdrive and a Class 10 backup. Shes fast for her size, but wont outrun a fighter"

Dasi was beaming as the Watchman began to describe his job. She could feel her own hands shaking as she waited for him to finish a sentence to interject another question. "Have you ever been to Coruscant? How about Corellia? I've been told my species is originally from Shili? Have you been there?" She was to curious to actually leave time to get an answer from him. So many questions she could ask, not even remotely enough time in the galaxy to ask them all. "What is it actually like to be somewhere real? Somewhere that isn't the temple? I mean I know what Kiros was like, and the temple. But what are other worlds actually like?" She was rapidly outpacing her ability to stick to control herself with the questions. Sure there were a lot of people around the temple who had been here or there, but usually they were to busy.

Then he started talking about his ship. She was standing next to him by the time he started describing it. Since her first trip on a shuttle all those years ago she had become absolutely fascinated with flying. Unfortunately no one would let her learn, something about not being able to see. It was one of the few limitations even the force couldn't erase. As he told her that it was fast for her size but still slower then fighters she had developed a million more questions. "You mean there are faster ships out there? How much faster? Do you know how to fly them? Did the Order teach you to fly? I tried to sign up but they told me absolutely not. I tried to sneak into the class once but they caught me before they got to anything interesting." And now she had devolved into full on rambling. By this point she was close enough to the watchman to invade most people's personal bubbles. Something she had never really developed, a true sense of personal space. "Can I go with you on your next trip? The question was out of her mouth before she even realized she had thought of it. "I know sometimes the other padawans get to leave the temple for things like this. To see what they want to do in the future. I know how to use my lightsaber. I'm decent enough with the force. I promise I won't be in the way."

He had unlocked pandoras box. The Watchman almost regretted encouraging her aptitude for asking questions, but her curious innocence was a welcomed tribute to his past. Rennek struggled to keep up with her barrage yet he tried his best to answer her examination "I could count with one hand how many times I've visited Coruscant in the last three decades, Corellia I frequent the most as it is my homeland and a sector I patrol under my mandate." he paused for a second as she queried his visit to her species Planet of origin, recollecting his missions under his Master "Shili.....Shili......I may have visited briefly during my apprenticeship". It was a lifetime ago essentially and these days he struggled to recall his travels. Over the last four decades he had rarely ventured outside the Corillea Sector and had spent the majority of his Knighthood there. It was easy to take for granted his role within the Order. Rennek was given the privilege of leaving the Temple at his leisure and returning when he deemed necessary. He almost forgot how restricted it was to be a Padawan under the watchful gaze of their Teachers and Masters.

"I guess its hard to describe. Its not really something you can put into words. The towering forest cities of Kashyyk are something I didn't expect. If you think trees here are large, by the Force. You'd shit the bed if you saw a Wroshyr Tree" another laugh boomed from him, though this was the first genuine gesture he'd made since landing on Ajan Kloss. Immediately he remembered the company he kept and bowed his head low "Forgive my manners Padawan. I usually deal with unsavory types and their demeanor tends to rub off on me. When in Coruscant."

The energy Dasi gave off was familiar. She was inquisitive, curious and full of inquiry. In short, she was a typical Padawan. Having spent so much time on the field and away from the Temple he'd almost forgotten the feeling. In his line of work he felt it inappropriate to tow a Padawan learner around with him. He was always on the move, always investigating. Rennek often doubted he had enough time to perform the more menial tasks in life, let alone tutor a keen mind. The Council tried many times to push a learner into his midst yet he managed to evade their imposition with argument. His clashes with his superiors often led to the reminder why he'd failed at ascending to the rank of Master, though to Rennek it was merely a title ill suited to him and his role. But the Force had strange ways of connecting individuals despite a persons repulse. When she was done he raised his hand to silent her before she talked his ears off "If you have been assigned a Master then I'll not step on their authority. The last thing I need is a fellow Jedi breathing down my neck, asking questions as to why I uplifted their student. However, if you are learning with a group and are yet to be assigned, I will file a special dispensation to have you under my care. Do not misunderstand Padawan. This is not a formal apprenticeship I am offering, more a glance into the life of a Watchman. I put this before you as my role and responsibility in the Order is not to everyones taste. As for your questions, why don't you see for yourself"

Dasi nearly melted. Especially when he began to describe the trees of Kashyyyk. "How much bigger could trees possibly get? There are trees here that are almost twice as thick as I am tall. How can you have a forest city? Forests are the size of cities themselves. Do they just live inside the forest and build their cities there?" She stared off for a bit, trying to imagine a city actually built among the forest rather then in the forest. She was to caught up in her own imagination to actually hear the Watchman mention his manners. She quickly gave up on her imagination. There was only one way now to find out how you could actually have a forest city, visit in person.

The young Togruta almost felt her stop heart when the man gave his answer. As soon as she heard the words "have been assigned a Master" she could feel her heart rate hit what probably should not have been possible in any living being. She almost couldn't resist the urge to start clapping her hands and squeal in excitement. The young Togruta was at her pack in seconds slinging it again. "Thank you Master Vaal! I swear you won't regret it! I'm not assigned to any Master. I understand why you would want that." She was struggling to keep her voice at a normal volume now. " I understand. Not a formal apprenticeship. A glance at the life of a Watchman, nothing more." Her mind began racing even faster then her heart. "What should I bring Master? I'll need my datapad, my lightsaber, my robes naturally..." She began to go through everything that her mind could conjure that she actually had that she felt she would need. She stopped mid sentence when one of the fifty threads her mind was going down realized something. A truly scandalous idea. "Can I ride in the cockpit? When they brought me here they told me I couldn't be up there, they were worried I might bump something. If I became a Watchman in the future would I have to learn to fly? Have there been any blind pilots before? How long does it take to learn to fly a shuttle?" And once again her excitement had taken control, she had a million questions and she could only say a thousand per minute.

"Big. Too big to explain or make comparisons. But in retrospect I've seen Wroshyr Trees taller than most buildings in Coruscant. The native Wookie build atop the canopy with bridges spanning across branches as thick as Star Ships. They are one of the few species I've encountered that live alongside nature, despite the abundance of technology available to them. It truly is a humbling experience. I recommend you visit, its circle of life is vicious and unforgiving but you'll not find a concentration of different lifeforms for thousands of light years either side." Rennek slowly came to his feet, arching his back to stretch the old muscles that cramped on a regular basis "Pack lightly Padawan and bring only the essentials. Your lightsaber is a given, robes an absolute must. If you fancy a bit of reading in transit then by all means pack your datapad. The ship is small and you'll find very little comfort within its hull."

The Jedi Watchman extended his arm towards the general direction of the Temple, prompting them to return within its premises "I'll need to submit this request soon. Hopefully the application is processed quick enough that I can depart within a few days. I recommend you return to your quarters and wait for the news." Her next request surprised Rennek. She obviously had a proclivity for flight and her interest radiated from her entire being through the Force. She made no attempt to conceal that fact. But what shocked him more was her instructors neglect in nurturing her interests, especially when it could benefit the Order. It was true, not everyone could pilot a Starship and often relied on transport or the aid of a piloting droid. But those that displayed an ineptitude were either physically incapable or possessed no real interest in learning. Dasi clearly showed curiosity, but it was obvious her physical limitations were what halted any progress in the skill. Rennek began walking towards the general direction of the Temple "Padawan. Are you aware of the Miraluka? They are a species of Humanoid born without eyes, yet they have overcome this shortcoming by seeing through the Force much like yourself. They however were a Master of their craft, so much so that they could define the smallest of detail. The lady I spoke of earlier was Miraluka and she was capable of operating vehicles. I see no reason why you cannot, with the appropriate amount of training. And in the great void of space there is little reason to worry about scuffing my Shuttle. R3 can also compensate for any miscalculations while learning."

Rennek inspected the Togruta and inspected her through the Force. She truly did resemble her in many ways. Perhaps it was that similarity that prompted the Watchman to take her under his wing albeit in an unofficial capacity "As for learning, there is no greater teacher than performing the act yourself and it just so happens that my copilot seat is empty. Now, it may not be the tuition you expected but its a reasonable starting point and stepping stone to become a qualified pilot. It isn't a necessary skill to possess to fulfill the mandate of a Watchman, as piloting droids are readily available. I do recommend you learn it though. So, what say you? Let us return to the temple "

Trees taller then buildings on Coruscant? How big could a building possibly get? The temple was already massive and supposedly the buildings on Coruscant were even larger then that. How big were those trees? Dasi vowed to herself to visit the world one day. She had to see it for herself. It seemed impossible for a planet like that to exist. She heard the Watchman getting back to his feet and she began to take the hint. She started towards the temple. She had quieted down again, only thinking about the journey that was coming, although quieting down for her right now was maybe a question every minute instead of every second. "Thank you again Master. I can't wait to see the galaxy. Where are we going to go first?"

The young Togruta was still trying to think of what planet they would visit first when he mentioned the Miraluke. She shifted into overdrive as soon as her mind remembered the class where she learned about the Miraluka. "Of course I know about them. My teachers practically shoved them down my throat to give me encouragement. They didn't say anything about them using the force to fly though. Is it true they are always using the Force to see? I can use the Force but I can't see that far, or as reliably as I would like. I always wanted to meet one though. They just seem to always be to busy when they are here but also never around. I'd settle just for meeting another blind Jedi though." Jedi were rare enough, blind Jedi even rarer. It was rather disappointing to have never met another one although she knew they existed somewhere around the temple. It was odd that she had somehow never managed to encounter another blind Jedi.

Dasi stopped and turned when the Watchman told her the copilot seat was empty. He was even offering her maybe a short class, not a full on lesson but she could settle for that. "I definitely want to learn it Master. My shuttle ride here the inertial dampeners were apparently broken. It was an adventure. I could feel every turn, the engines powering up, the shuttle accelerating. I want to go fast now."

The Jedi Knight grabbed his comlink, pushing the button that directly linked him to his Shuttle "R3, power down the Ship. We will be staying longer than originally planned." The protocol droid responded with a series of beeps and whistles, a language officially adopted and used by the artificial beings. Over the comm it almost sounded distressed, a look of shock wiping across Renneks face "Wait. What do you mean the shuttles loaded? On whos authority?" R3 continued with another series of whines and clicks indicating it explained its temporary owners questions "Just hold tight. I'll clear this up when I return."

The Watchman slid the comm back into his pouch, his thumb and index finger applying pressure to the bridge of his nose "By the bloody Force. Looks like someone from requisition has made a mistake. I now have supplies and provisions loaded in my Shuttle bound for Bracca. I'll try and clear this up when we return. In the meantime I'll need you to wait around the Temple while I sort out this dispensation to have you under my guardianship." He kept a casual pace despite the rush he was in. He was aware that Dasi was perfectly capable of navigating despite her physical blindness, heck, she had made it all the way out here on her own. Regardless, she was in his care. As they navigated through the thick vegetation Rennek continued to answer the Padawan while on the move "It was once said that the Miraluka were the original practitioners of Force based sight. Makes sense though. All pure bloods are born without eyes so it goes to stand that they developed some sort of ability to navigate through their World. As I said earlier, they are Masters of their craft and almost unrivaled in their ability of sight. I want you to remember this Padawan, and remember it well. Physical sight can deceive you, and be manipulated in numerous ways. Paired with the Force, your blindness will one day be seen as your strongest ally. Mark my words."

Before long they arrived outside the Temples boundary and the Knight could see a few droids loading cargo on his shuttle "Go to your dorm and pack your things. Give me a few hours to put forth my submission and clear up this mishap with my Ship. Then I want you to get changed into something light and comfortable and meet me in the training room. I need to see how proficient you are in combat. The Arkanis Sector is a dangerous place and I need to know the extent of your abilities, both physically and in the Force. Furthermore -" his gaze settled on the Sojourn class Shuttle he arrived in "-it seems we are going to Bracca. Looks like we will be making a delivery"

As they arrived at the Temple Boundary Dasi could once again begin to sense the numerous people in the temple. Being alone in the wilderness was nice, but this was home and it was refreshing to be back. The Watchman gave her a set of commands and she started to break off to go perform them. "Right away Master." Dasi avoided the hangar. If her earlier trip had been any indication the hangar without footwear was off limits. She drifted around the front of the temple and took the main entrance there instead. Hopefully whoever had taken offense through her beginning the trip hadn't informed anyone. She slipped past the door there and slipped down a hallway to her room. She unpacked her bag and looked through her list of books for her datapad before picking some new ones. She also took a moment to change into something else, still not Jedi robes but more appropriate then what she had on for a fight. Once done she grabbed her repacked bag and started to head over to the training room.

Dasi rubbed her hands together as she made the trip to the training room. The Watchman had said he would take her, but what if she wasn't good enough with the lightsaber or the Force. Presumably those were why she still hadn't been assigned a Master. That or she just wasn't noticeable despite being the only blind Togruta for she imagined light years. She sighed in relief as she entered and the Watchman wasn't there yet. Time to meditate or practice with a lightsaber before he arrived, best not to just sit around and act cocky. She drew her lightsaber, beginning to slowly but surely go through the forms that had been shoved into her skull since she first arrived.

Nothing was going as she planned: her Master leaved for a solo mission, it seemed that the Council didn't want her with him. «You have to improve your healing abilities», that was the excuse that he gave he. As always, she followed his orders and staied at the Temple, but the Force wasn't helping her.

«Let's see what I can do today.» She muttered before deciding to head towards the med quarter of the Temple, it was the place where she passed more time, but she wans't sure, there was something wrong on what she dediced. She touched nervously her Padawan's braid, she didn't like to know what to do, and it was strange for her.

Althea, normally, was a quiet Torgutan, she loved to stay alone, not like the other people of her spieces. It was difficult fo her to understand that part of Torgutan, even if she visited her homeworld planet few times with her Master.

«Perhaps a little walk will help me to clarify my mind. That way, yes, let's go that way.» She wasn't used to stay without her Master, especially when she was at the Temple. She felt lost because of the strong bond she created with him. She could feel quite everything about her Master. «He is alive and he is travelling to an unkonw planet for an unkonwn mission, he will be back soon. You are strong enough to stay without him for a week or two here in the Temple.» She was trying to convince herself, trying to avoid all the other Masters that were trying to approach her. «They know how I am feeling, I need to quiet myslef.» She smiled before tunring her back to a Master and wlking on the opposite direction. «Fine, let's find something to do.»

The two parted ways temporarily, Dasi to gather her belongings, Rennek to request an audience with the Padawans tutors. He made his way towards the lecture rooms where a handful of Knights congregated, the group discussing the upcoming topics and curriculum. The Watchman explained the situation. He was to take Dasi under his guardianship for at least quarter of a standard cycle and instruct her in the ways of the Force. Due to his exposure with unique Jedi, namely those that saw through the Force, he felt he was better suited to lecturing her than those currently present. He also had an underlying agenda. Rennek was getting old and he was fast approaching his 60th year and one day he would be unfit to fulfill his role as a Watchman of the Arkanis Sector. Without a prospective replacement he risked leaving his area unwatched and consequently susceptible to more influence to the darkside. Not only that but he risked more potential lives to fall under the shadows of the newly exposed Sith.

Surprisingly his colleagues agreed , though he could sense an air of apprehension among a few Knights. From what Rennek gathered Dasi was being held back from her studies and in his eyes she was at risk of falling in the cracks of the Jedi Order. With an abundance of newly initiated Padawans and not enough tutors to guide them it was fast becoming a trending occurrence. With his business seemingly concluded he bowed in respect to his fellow Knights, turning around to make his way towards the hangar. He had hoped to clarify the earlier misunderstanding regarding his Ship, and the stacks of provisions that had been loaded unbeknownst to him. As he made his way towards the hangar bay he noticed a Togruta, and although there was some varying differences in their patterns and coloration, he could have sworn it was Dasi. Rennek approached (@Ithil) the young student, evident by the braid which hung from her head, and tapped her on the shoulder "Padawan, if you are free I could use your assistance in the training area. Take yourself and your lightsaber there and wait for me. I will be there soon" he continued towards his ship without waiting for her to respond.

When he arrived at his Sojourn Class Shuttle, unnamed as yet, the R3 droid rolled down the boarding ramp abuzz with whistles and whines. Rennek sighed "Yes, I spoke with the individual in charge of logistics on our way here. It seems they mistakenly loaded our shuttle with goods bound for Bracca. Apparently we have some allies there that require a resupply. The joys of having a standard Jedi Order ship I suppose. Anyway, do not fret. I've decided to deliver them. Oh and make room for one more and clear the escape pod. Our guest may make residence there for the time being. " The protocol droid squealed confusingly but before a line of inquiry could be made the Watchman was already leaving.

Rennek arrived at the training grounds where he hoped to find both Togruta waiting. There he would make the necessary introductions if they had not met already "Padawans, if you are not familiar with each other I suggest you introduce yourselves. Once that is done I want you both to move to the opposite sides of the arena" he gestured for both of them to take their respective sides "I want you both to decrease the power output on your lightsabers so that contact damage is at a minimum. If either of you fail to do so and injure the other you will be reprimanded. Do I make myself clear?"

Renneks gaze rested on both Padawans as he stood as a reasonable distance, allowing himself a full field of view "Dasi, this is a test of your skills against an individual more or less at your level. Padawan (@Ithil) I thank you for your attendance. I understand my request came with ill timing. You will act as Padawan Dasis sparring partner. You have 1 minute. Engage"

Dasi had just finished the last of her warm up sets when another Togruta entered the room. Even Dasi could sense some of the unease from the new visitor. She moved over to give the other Togruta space as she started through a few more stretches. She kept letting her focus waver over to the other Togruta in the room. She didn't recognize the other Padawan, she had thought she had met all the other Togrutan Jedi. She decided to focus on her stretches. She didn't want to accidentally strain something if Rennek decided to push her skills. As soon as she sensed the Watchman enter the room she was up on her feet, ready for whatever activities he had in mind. "Master Vaal." She turned to face the other Togruta when he revealed who her opponent would be, giving a much more careful once over in the force while she stepped to the other side of the arena and ensured her lightsaber had decreased output.

Once there she turned to face her opponent and introduced herself as the Watchman had ordered. "Hello! My name is Dasi Vemm. I wish you luck in this match." With her introduction and after waiting for the Watchman's approval the Padawan activated her lightsaber, she twirled the lightsaber in one hand feeling the reassuring weight of the lightsaber before bringing it up to head level and bowing her head towards her opponent. With the regular rituals over she dropped into her fighting stance, knees bent and feet wide apart. She couldn't afford to lose this little duel. She had to keep the other Togruta on the defense. It wasn't her normal strategy, she very much preferred the defensive but it was not a recommended approach in almost anything. She carefully closed the distance between them, as soon as she was in range she went for a stab to the other Padawan's abdomen.

«Ehi, what's going on? Fight? Training?» Only now Althea noticed the other two people. «Ehm... Hi.. I am Althea, Althea Taa.» She looked at Dasi and her position than the other man, she didn't understand his name. «I am sorry there must be an error, I am not looking for this type of training. »

Her day was becoming even more stressing and strange: to fight was her last thing she wanted to do, even for a training. To be honest she lost the count of how many days she staied without lightsaber traning and she wasn't missing it. She was quite sure that she forgot how to fight.

Althea studied with attention the other Torguta, so different from her, so sure of herself, but perhaps that's how a warrior felt: always sure and ready to fight. Althea sighed, she had to find a way out to this situation, Dasi won't like at all the short fight she would have with her.

«Well» Althea whispered something unintelligible before turning her face to look at the man. «Sorry, sir, I didn't understand your name.» She knew that the minute was ending, at least she would lear how to avoid the attack from Dasi. Sht ouched her lightsaer on her side, but she felt uncomfortable with it, she was taking it with her just because her Master told her to do so, at least until she was still a Padawan, after she could do what she wanted, and she already knew the answer.

She didn't expect an attack from the other Padawan, so she got hit in her abdomen. «Ouch.» She felt to her knees putting an hand on the hitten part. «Krift.» She muttered for the pain. «And even this wasn't in my plan, I don't want to heal myself. Wait wait, Dasi.»

"I am Master Rennek Vaal, Padawan. But your curiosity in a time where focus is required has cast you on the back foot" he watched intently as the tip of Dasis blade hit Altheas abdomen, sending her to her knees and requesting a premature halt to the spar. She was lucky the lightsabers were instructed to be powered down to minimal settings and the most she'd feel was a slight numbing of her stomach. Rennek raised his hand to halt the match "Enough. Padawan Dasi, return to your corner. Padawan Althea stand up and ready your lightsaber. Remember to adjust the power settings to minimal. We shall start again, this time FOCUS. Even though a Jedi's mandate is promoted towards peaceful negotiations, there will be times where you'll need to draw your blade in the defense of others and yourself. You will not be granted reprieve or a second change in the field." The Jedi Knight glanced towards Dasi and offered a smile, one she wouldn't see but feel through the Force "Your stance needs sharpening young one, but your initiative is to be commended."

The Jedi Knight made his way towards one of the lockers in the training ground, opening its locked doors and producing two training drones that floated a few feet off the ground. He motioned for one for orbit Dasi, the other to circle around Althea "Lets focus on something a bit more basic for now. Once you both are sufficiently warmed up we can resume our exercise. I'm sure you both would have covered this aspect in your earlier training but I will reiterate their function." He extended his arm out with his palm opened and facing the roof, motioning one of the drones to hover over his hand "This is a Mark VII Training Drone of Akraid design. As you're aware its primary function is to mimic incoming fire with low powered blaster rounds. In case you've never been hit with one of these before-" he waved his other hand, prompting the hovering drone to fire a round at his shoulder. At best he winced but his reaction displayed the extent of the drones damage capabilities "-it grazes at the very best. Dasi, this will be a perfect opportunity for you to get a handle on your surroundings. I want you to use the Force to perceive their rotation and patterns and act accordingly. Althea, its apparent to me that you struggle with your own lightsaber and though you do well to hide your insecurity, your feelings betray you. So for this exercise I want you to get a handle on your tool and get use to how it feels in your hands. Begin."

Rennek released the drone, returning it to Dasis orbit. He had changed its settings so it fired indiscriminately while maintaining a predictable orbit around the Padawan. For Althea he programmed her training drone to stay in front of her in sight, changing from left, right and center before releasing a single round towards he at each re position. The movements were highly predictable, but he needed her to build confidence in her ability so she could participate in a friendly bout later on. In order to determine Dasis fighting potential she needed to spar with someone her own level.
