A Social Misadventure

Mira walked along the streets of Naboo’s capital city trying her best to complete her mission that Master Sen assigned her she thought back to her debriefing that she must go with him to Naboo and socialize with people to better understand what a Jedi must do. Unfortunately for her there was not to many people that wanted to talk to her as many people rushed about their daily tasks barely stopping to say hello to the small girl but, Mira would not be dissuaded she was going to socialize with people no matter what. Mira’s confidence was bruised when she walked into someone much taller then her. “Oh my goodness I’m so sorry!” Mira blushed a deep red her social adventure already taking a dip “I’m Mira Starwind a-and I’m sorry for running into you..is there anything I can do to help? Did I injure you?” Mira frantically looked around reaching out with the Force to asses for any injuries. @Lightspeed

In the streets of Theed on the lovely planet Naboo, Troy Pierceson, out of uniform, was taking a trek down the city streets. He was wearing more casual clothing, had none of his issued-gear on his either, only a civilian grade blaster pistol on his person, just in case. These are rather uncertain times in the galaxy and Pierceson still remembers when a force-using Mandalorian and Jedi started to fight in Theed, which thankfully was resolved peacefully in the end. The RNSF Lieutenant then stopped, seeing a droid shop building to his left. Curious, he turned around to get a better view. *thud* That was when a person lightly bumped into him from behind. It didn't really budge Pierceson.

“Oh my goodness I’m so sorry!”

Pierceson turned around to see it was a girl that bumped into him.

“I’m Mira Starwind a-and I’m sorry for running into you..is there anything I can do to help? Did I injure you?”

Sure is a lot of apologizing, what harm could she have done to a grown man? He wondered. He then lowers his height a little to be on level with the young girl. "Slow down. I'm alright." He calmly said. He doesn't need any help. He is curious as to why the first thing she does after apologizing is give our her name, but she is clearly panicking. Now the question is "Are you alright though.. Mira? Are you lost?" He asked Mira, he was prepared to help if needed.

Mira looked up at him and nodded slowly “My..Master said to go and socialize but it’s kinda hard..A-and I bumped into you and I don’t want you to be mad at me..” Mira looked a little upset and discouraged “I never asked for your name..that would probably be a good start..” Mira smiled sheepishly soon however something green and white was beeping frantically down the street going at high speeds until it skidded right in front of Mira. “RZ! You’re here? I thought you were with Master Sen?” The astromech droid beeped and chirped “oh so you wanted to protect me..well thank you but I’ve gotten better at combat so I think-“ Mira was cut off by RZ chirping at her in an angry and or frantic voice Mira’s cheeks heated up a bit “he’s not strange..this man here was helping me..besides he could be another Jedi for all you know RZ don’t say such things.” Mira looked up at the tall man “I’m sorry about him he just worries about me a lot and he usually dosen’t take kindly to me hanging out with other men..”

The Hapes-born NRSF officer nodded his head as he listened to Mira's words. Master? That sounds curious. She asked for his name, and sure, why not? "Troy Pierceson, nice to meet you. " he said. Then he backed away as a astromech droid skid inserted itself right in front of the girl and after hearing her converse with it, it looks like that astromech droid is there to keep tabs on her and protect her. He could only understand Mira's half of the conversation because Pierceson never understood droidspeak. Pierceson was just standing there until she said 'another Jedi'. This girl is a Jedi? That puts a whole lot of sense in sense into this? Well, maybe she might have meant something else, so maybe there's no harm in asking to make sure. "Wait? You're a Jedi?" he asked. And also. "No, I'm not a Jedi. I'm just with the Royal Naboo Security Forces." he said. And for her last sentence "It's alright. Your droid is just looking out for you, nothing wrong with that." He said. It's sure is very protective for a utility droid. "So, your Master told you to come here to socialize with other people?" He asks just so he completely understands this situation. At least the master suggested Naboo, instead of a planet like Courscant or Taris.

Mira nodded “I’m not technicaly a Jedi..I got here a few months ago and Master Sen is technically my mother’s Master he just has some business here so he wanted to bring me along to become more familiar with socializing with others and help out if possible.” Mira smiles up at him “you’re a royal guard? That’s amazing, have you met the queen?” Mira looked up at Troy in awe and smiled. She then looked down a bit “um I know that this may sound silly but you wouldn’t know about anything about the Alderaanian House Starwind would you? I’m just wanting to see what they..do exactly..because well i’m not sure what my name means to people like if it carried any significance..” Mira looked around a few people stopped but then continued on their way. “Have I said something dumb?” Mira looked a bit upset

Pierceson nodded his head, then smiled as Mira was in awe and just a little when asked if she met the Queen. Naboo doesn't have one at the moment, but still he will answer. "Naboo has a King at the moment. King Jafan I. And I haven't properly met him yet, but I have seen him person multiple times." Lots of Naboo monarchs have been Queens, but there haven't been many Kings, but it's an easy misconception to make. Now for her next question. "Sorry, I can't say I recall hearing about Starwinds." He shrugged his shoulders. "I can't say I keep up with politics and stuff on Alderaan myself." It's like how the noble House of Pierceson of Hapes carries absolutely no weight on Naboo, to which he is fine with because Hapes is a terrible planet. From the core up. It's institutionalized infighting, it's matriarchy. With the off-hand admission that Mira is a child of noble birth, it reminded Pierceson he is one as well and shuddered a little bit as he would rather it be forgotten.

. “Have I said something dumb?”

"No, no. You are fine" Pierceson smiled "Just stop being such a worry-wart" he said playfully. He was then curious about Mira's master "So, what kind of business does on Naboo does your Master have?" He wondered. "If you don't mind me asking of course."

Mira thought for a moment “I think it had something to do with trading..something about a shipment of some sort I think it was supplies for the soldiers and the Jedi would get information and trust from Naboo along with more trading and credits..” Mira ponders for a moment before RZ chirps a bit “hm? Where did you want to go?” RZ chirps again “ok I guess..” Mira looks up at Troy “Um excuse me Mr. Pierceson, would you mind accompanying me to the library RZ apperently found something of interest there and he didn’t want to lose me again and he also said it would be best to bring you along Incase something..unfortunate happened..”

Alright, Mira wants to go to the library? Ok. Troy would be lying if he wasn't the slightest bit curious about what the droid was found. It's not like Pierceson has anything better to do though now that he is off duty. "Alright. No problem, I can do that." Pierceson said. Something... unfortunate? "What can could possibly wrong?" he then smiled. No, he is not making an invitation of tempting fate, not one bit.

"Well.." Mira Hesitated slightly pulling Troy over to a smaller area "There's this man named Lord Marr I fear he is after me..he killed my..uncle and now he might find me here..so that's what RZ meant by unfortunate.." Mira looked up at him her face serious and RZ whistles slightly as if agreeing with his owner's tone. RZ nuged Mira and slowly rolled to the library Mira followed suit while waiting for Troy to follow her on their adventure to the library.

"Lord Marr?" the RNSF Lieutenant echoed with a curious look on his face. "Is he some kind of Sith?" he wondered. The name kind of screams 'Sith' to him. "Well, who or whatever he is, you are safe on Naboo, that I can assure you." He nodded his head in approval of his own words. Just in case, Pierceson does have a comlink on his person so he could bring in RNSF back up as well as his CZ-BP01 pistol as well, just in case, although with the latter maybe that may not do a whole lot of good since Pierceson would be way in over his head against a Sith, assuming this Lord Marr is a Sith. After attempting to put Mira's fears to rest, she would follow Mira's and her droids direction.

They reached the library and RZ used he jetpack to slowly get up to one of the landings. Mira then carried him the rest of the way up as to not cause damage to the library. “So Lord Marr is a self proclaimed Sith I believe My master hasn’t heard of him and Miss Naima hasn’t either..” Mira walked into the library it looked similar to the Jedi Archives but a bit smaller. “I don’t want to brag but I believe the Jedi Archives are a lot bigger..” Mira looked around for a place to sit she saw a small desk a bit further from most of the people and sat down she then pulled out a book on lightsabers allowed to be read by the general public. The book mostly contained details of what it was and how they worked it was simple enough for the average person to understand without getting into the religion of the Jedi ways. Mira looked at the book mesmerized by its teachings. “Mr.Pierceson..I know this sounds silly but..have you ever done things that you can’t logically explain?”

Pierceson has a stern expression as he listened to Mira's brief description of this Lord Marr. "I see" When the two got in the library, he more or less followed Mira as she did her thing.

“I don’t want to brag but I believe the Jedi Archives are a lot bigger..”

"I bet." He snickered. Given their ways, their history, and their religion, that is very likely and wouldn't surprise him. When Mira took at seat at the small desk, Pierceson kneeled on the ground with his eyes trained on the book Mira pulled out, without directly reading it

“Mr.Pierceson..I know this sounds silly but..have you ever done things that you can’t logically explain?”

"Ummmm..." He tries to think of something. "I don't know, maybe? Why do you ask?" He wondered.

"Well, it's just..you may be..like me.." Mira looks up at him "You could very well be Force-sensitive..and if that's the case Master Sen and I could teach you and you could incorporate it into your job..then you'd be less at risk when dealing with criminals.." Mira smiles lightly and shows him the book and turns it to a section on the various fighting styles used by those who wield lightsabers "This form, Shii Cho apparently I'm a natural at it..but my..,uncle taught me it if I ever lost my blaster so in a way he taught me my foundations on the fighting style of the Jedi.." Mira then realized she was rambling "Um, sorry about that rambling..I seem to do that a lot lately..I was always really quiet and I mostly observed from a distance but now with everything happening I've become more..open I guess." Mira looks at the book again but soon feels something bad may happen "Um, Mr. Pierceson..I've got a bad feeling..should we..go somewhere safer?" Mira looked at him her eyes filled with worry. RZ scoots back a bit but then goes in front of both of us trying his best to protect us fropm any potential danger.

Troy Pierceson was reading along with Mira with her book. Mira continued after Pierceson answered her question.

"Well, it's just..you may be..like me.

"You could very well be Force-sensitive.

Were the words he concentrated the most on. He wouldn't believe that he was force sensitive even if it was somehow proven, to which he is sure he isn't as he was thinking about it. "I doubt that I am able to use the force." He replied to the girl. And then he was nodding along as Mira is talking about her lightsaber form. And then she apologized. She seems to do it an awful lot, but once again Pierceon tries to re assure her. "You are fine, lot of this is actually pretty interesting." He said, and it actually is. The Jedi have a lot of history, the lightsabers are also very elegant weapons with lots of history and tradition behind them as well. Then Mira started getting concerned and worried, getting her bad feeling and the RZ backing up trying to protect them. Pierceson puts his right hand on his holstered blaster pistol, but perhaps due not having the honed sixth sense Mira possess, doesn't sense anything. His normal senses bring up nothing as he looks around all directions and sees nothing out of the ordinary. "I don't see anything. I believe you are safe" he said. Mira may not feel safe, but Pierceson feels safe in his own city.

A smell of something burning wafts to Mira’s nose “I-It smells like..burning bodies..we’ve got to go now!” A loud boom was heard a few miles away and screaming could be heard from what Mira sensed it seemed like someone or something was attacking the library but for what, Mira wasn’t sure “who or what is attacking..and why?” Mira looked at you and drew her lightsaber out and ignited it as two hooded people came in through the library and quickly advanced Mira felt deep rage from them and she tried to make herself feel less afraid but the hooded figures probably sensed her decreasing resolve to fight them.

So, maybe Mira's bad feeling was right after all as the mood and tone in the area as well as the smell turned things much more bleak. "I don't know." Pierceson answered as Mira was inquiring about who was attacking. Surely it can't be the Deeja Peak Alliance again, as they attacked Theed not too long ago. Once the two hooded men came into plain view, Mira drew her lightsaber, he heard the sound of the ignition and can definately hear the humming as the blade as he stands beside her. The Hapan drew out his blaster pistol and aimed it towards the the men. "Freeze. Stop right there!" he said as the two advanced. Rules of engagement, which Pierceson is bound by, couldn't fire his blaster immediately. It was only after it was clear the two mysterious people weren't intending on stopping as they were heading towards the two. With that, Pierceson fires four shots at the people from his blaster pistol, two for each person. 'How will they deal with that?' Pierceson was thinking in his head. Will they draw out lightsabers if they are working for this self-proclaimed Sith?

"Mira Starwind, do not resist! Come with us or many more innocent lives will be lost!" Mira backs away and shouts "Who are you?!" The hooded man takes off his hood his face is scarred and his red eyes flared in anger "I am Heretic..apprentice of Lord Marr!" The other man siad quietly "I am Akardos Sateel..I believe you knew my father.." Mira tries to look closer at Akardos but his hood blocked most of his face but she could see that his eyes were not red like Heretics but a light blue. as the shots were fired Heretic growled in anger and drew his lightsaber while Akardos stepped back seemingly hesitant to fight them in fact, he looked like he rather be anywhere else. Mira felt his hesitation and guilt but she did not understand why he would feel guilty.

As Heretic drew his and ignited his lightsaber, stopped to deflect the lightsaber bolts Pierceson fired. Pierceson had a feeling that they were going to have that. The one who identified himself as Akardos Sateel dodged them. He said Mira knew his father, and was acting strange with not being as eager as Heretic to battle. Is this some sort of Sith mind game? With Heretic being a more immediate threat, Pierceson then fires five more fast-paced blaster bolts at Heretic, aiming to place the shots all over his body. Will the Sith be able to deflect them all? "Lets see how you handle this whatever your name is." He said as he fired his barrage.

Heretic growled as he knelled over in pain. he cursed at Troy before ordering Akardos to attack but he just stood there looking at Troy Heretic ordered him more loudly to kill Troy and take me but he simply walked over to Heretic and in a sudden move that no one could predict Akardos cut Heretic's head clean off with his lightsaber. He spoke softly "I had no intention of fighting you..I simply want to get some information..and I never wanted to be Sith I know it might be too late for me to change sides after all the horrible things I've done..but perhaps if I turn myself in the Republic could be merciful to me.." Mira fe;t his sadness it overwhelmed the room even those who were not strong in the Force could feel it.

Heretic managed to deflect some of the blaster shots, but two of them landed their mark as Pierceson didn't hold back and fired them towards multiple parts of his body, to which he struggled to deflect all of as result. Pierceson heard him kneel in pain, and cursed him, but now Pierceson's attention was on Akarados as he beheaded Heretic with his saber. He listened to the Sith's words. With one hand he aimed his blaster pistol at Akardo. "So, how do I know this isn't a Sith trick? Sorry if I'm not convinced, but the Sith aren't known for being honest. And killing each other is the way of the Sith, right? From my point of view it looks like you are trying to save for your skin..." Even if Mira's sadness can be felt, Pierceson isn't excatly ready to buy his story.
