A Weekend on Shili

Aboard a Shuttle over Shili
5:20 Local Time, 12:00 Galactic Standard Time

The red and yellow Togrutan homeworld came into view just as the blue streaks of light began to fade, signalling they had just come out of hyperspace. Ray woke from her bed in her quarters after hearing the hyperspace collision warning alarm going off. She jumped from her bed, nearly pushing her husband off the bed, and dashed towards the closed door. She pulled on a gown just before pressing a button on the dial pad, causing the door to slide open.

"Guys!? What's going on! Are we gonna crash!?"

Tamara was sitting in the co-pilot's chair, basically making sure nothing happened during their trip while her parents and/or cousin and brother were sleeping. She swung the chair around and put her datapad on the dashboard,"No, mom. We're here, that's all" Ray sighed a breath of relief and closed the door. She walked over to her bed and got onto it on her knees, she leant in to whisper in Adun's ear,"Honey....it's time to get up"

Tamara also got up and went to wake everyone help, whilst yawning a bit. She had been awake through the entire trip through hyperspace, gazing at the view of the stars rushing by. It was dangerous to do that though. She didn't really care. Tammy opened the door to her brother's room,"Time to get up, Tart"

[Algarus]

"Brother, please! Come back with me! It doesn't have to-"
Adun brought up his saber to block as Tartarus bore down upon his. Heavy rainfall fell down upon the two brothers, as small wisps of steam rose up from their weapons. As Adun looked into his brothers amber eyes, he only saw the hate his brother was channeling; pure and unyielding.
"Silence! I've had enough of your lies!" Tartarus came down with an overhead slash as Adun caught it, purple and crimson clashed once more as the two fought on. Their tunics were soaked and laced with numerous cuts and tears. The landscape around them was bare and rocky as they fought up a cliff side. Their blades remained locked as neither could gain an edge on the other. Suddenly Tartarus drove his knee into his younger brother stomach; causing Adun to lean forward and gasp out in pain. Now seeing he had an edge, the fallen knight swung his blade under his brothers as he slashed towards Adun's neck at an upward arch. Thinking quick Adun threw up a force shield as he managed to hold back the attack; barely an inch away from hitting his neck.The young knight struggled to regain his breath as he could feel his concentration weakening; Tartarus' blade grew even closer until he could feel the steam hissing from the weapon. Adun looked up frantically to his brother, hoping for one last chance to reason with him. In his haste to attack, Tartarus had guard was down, and if Adun so wished he could end it right now. The hate filled eyes of his brother were locked upon him; their only desire were to see him dead. Adun took the moment to thrust his still ignited blade into his brothers side. As the blade stabbed through his brother, Tartarus eyes widened in shock as he opened his month and spoke.
"Honey....it's time to get up."

Adun shot up in bed, sweat trailing down his forehead. He breathed heavily as he reached out for his weapon, then quickly stopped. His breathing steadied as he found himself in his bedroom with his wife. He looked over to her and sighed. "Sorry, I had that dream again." He said with a small tinge of sadness in his voice. He covered his face with his hand as he banished the memory to the back of his mind. "I'm fine now, let's just get ready." His fingers traced the scar under his right eye before he activated his force sight. With his sight back to normal, he crawled out of bed and threw on a pair of jeans before sitting back on the edge of the bed. He threw a look over at Rayla and smiled. Last time they came here they were young and just starting out as a couple. "Do remember the last time we visited here?" He asked, as fond memories of their time on the planet below came to his mind.

"Time to get up, Tart." Cain grunted in annoyance as he rolled onto his shoulder and put a pillow over his head. "Go away Tam. Don't make me get the water gun." He muttered half asleep. He nuzzled back into the matress ignoring his sister. In his mind she deserved it, one he hated being called Tart and two he was tired. Not to mention he enjoyed tormenting his sister over her fear of water.

 

[Tristyn]

Ray sighed and moved away from Adun while he put his clothes on and sat next to her. She too was saddened that he couldn't stop having nightmares about his brother. She was there too, well on the same battlefield, and she remembered how hard it was for him. It also reminded her of how she wanted to murder her own sister. Horrible times indeed.

"Do remember the last time we visited here?"

She smiled just as she remembered her last visit to the planet below,"Yep, oh it was so wonderful. I hope we get to relive the magic of that day all over again" She forgot that Adun and Cain could hardly stand the sun, but Tamara was strangely fine with it. Tammy had been to many desert planets and never complained about it when she got back home, unlike Cain.

"I'm not afraid of water you lazy asshole....I just don't....like swimming..."

She left the room and went to check on Taylor and knocked on her door,"Tay? Are you awake?"

On the way there, Taylor had been meditating on her bed only to fall asleep moments later. She honestly never even heard the ship alarm going off when they arrived to Shili. The dream Taylor was having was confusing her. It was like she was fighting a Sith, but he was letting her win and when he messed up, he let her start over again.

That dream ended not much longer when Tamara came a knocked on her door to see if she was awake. Taylor lazily opened her eyes and went to the door and opened it, stretching with a small yawn and smiled at her cousin. "Yeah, I'm awake. Are we here?" she asked as she gave a hug to Tammy. Taylor was going to turn around and get dressed except for the fact that she had fallen asleep in her normal clothes: her army green jacket, black crop top, skin tight pants, and her Jedi boots.

Walking out of her room, she followed Tammy out to where everyone would gather together.

 

[Tristyn]

Tamara smiled and said as she walked out the room and into the cockpit,"Yeah we are" She laughed as she looked at her cousin's outfit,"Are you gonna wear that? You know it's like 35 degrees (celsius) down there? We're all gonna wear something light....and a lot of sunscreen"

Taylor giggled hearing what Tammy said. "Yeah, you're right. I should probably change." she said turning around and heading back into her room for a second to change. Looking through her drawers, she pulled out an orange/red dress with her light grey leggings along with her boots to match the dress.

After she finished, she walked out to join Tammy and the others again.

 

[Tristyn]

Tamara waited patiently in the cockpit and sat down in the co-pilot's eat for a bit before Taylor returned. She looked at her outfit rather skeptically,"Although I really love that outfit-" She really did,"-like I said it's gonna be really hot. It's morning on the surface...but once midday comes you'll pass out and die....or something...that's just what dad said......now that I think about it..."

She began to wonder if her father had perhaps been over exaggerating a bit, but she was nonetheless still gonna wear something light, just encase he's right.

Taylor put her hands on her hips and giggled once more when Tammy said she could pass out or die. "Welp! I guess it's going to be the first outfit I pulled out then!!" she said still giggling as she ran back to her room and slipped on her crop top and skirt.

Afterwards, she ran back out still giggling and looked at Tammy as she for some reason ran into the pilots seat giggling like crazy. "This is the lightest I've got, hope I won't die." she giggled again joking with Tammy's previous comment.

Tamara laughed at Tay's hyperactiveness, she seemed like an exact replica of her mom, by the way Rayla described her,"I'm sure that'll do...." She began to wonder now about what she herself was going to wear. She didn't wear the same kind of clothing Taylor did. She doesn't have any dresses, tank tops, tights or anything other than a pair of boots, some shoes, some generic tee-shirts, a jacket, tight jeans and maybe even a blouse.

Taylor was always somewhat Tamara's fashion guide, which she was happy with. Though now once again she didn't know what she was going to wear. She has no shorts or crop tops, but her mom probably does, being a togruta. "Be right back" I really should've thought about this before we left. Dammit.

She walked to her parents room and opened the door, forgetting to knock,"Hey, mom, dad. Got any clothes I can use?"

 

[Algarus]

Adun had just put on his shirt when he saw his daughters force presence nearing their room. That was the one of the stranger things he had to adapt to, being able to see others signatures in the force. Tamara's presence was almost completely pure, as a light aqua color. It was an adjustment at first to view the world as he was now, but it got easier. Rayla's presence was tainted from her early days as a jedi, but it had sense lightened for the years as a dark blue hue, Cain on the other hand worried him, as he often showed as a bluish gray; a sign that his presence was tainted.
"Ray, Tamara's coming you best get dressed." He said to his wife as he used a small amount of concentration to hold up a bed sheet to cover her. As Tamara entered the room, Adun would address her. "Tammy, I love you immensely dear, but can you please start remembering to knock?"
He held back a smile as he tried to imagine Rayla's response.

After about five minutes, Cain rolled out of bed and threw on some shorts and a light fabric shirt. He'd never been to this planet before, but he did notice his parents got all weird when they mentioned it. He looked at himself in one of the small mirrors in his room. He studied his face and eye color before scowling. He'd never understood why he hadn't gained his mothers tolerance for the heat, Tamara obviously did. He shrugged the thought off though, everyone had different genetics after all, and tied his hair back in a braid. He was glad his parents had taught him the native language, it made wonder around on his own easier.

 

[Tristyn]

"It's fine Adun, I taught her not to mind" Ray had some sleeping robes on of course. Tamara stepped in and apologized to her father,"Sorry...I forgot"

They must've been at it again. I wish they would at least announce they'll be busy or go someplace else. Her mom usually wasn't dressed when she slept so this was a tad bit suspicious, but she left it quickly. Ray answered her daughter's question while getting up and moving towards her,"I'm sorry...none of my clothes will fit you....but there are a couple of stores where we're going. So take this....and don't go wild please. Keep it away from Taylor" Her mom handed her some credits and closed the door without saying good bye. She leaned against the door and turned to Adun,"I thought you taught her manners?"

After Taylor fell into the chair, she sighed and pretended that she had sunk into the chair even though she was already half way down in it. Taylor looked over to Tammy as she told her that she'd be back. "Ok. I guess, I'll keep an eye on this thing." she said with a smirk as she winked at Tamara who walked past her and headed to her parents' room.

Even though Taylor had acted more of a tomboy at times, she was bubbly, mostly had a smile on her face and she loved giving fashion advice to her cousin and aunt if they ever asked her for guidance.

 

[Algarus]

As Tamara left, Adun replied to Ray with a a slight smile. "I try, but it seems your stuberness has rubbed off on her." Adun pulled his lightsaber to him and stowed it on his belt. "Cain is just as bad. Hope he comes around though."

Cain lumbered out his room and made his way to the passanger seating as he waited for everyone else to arrive. He yawned and stared out at the planet before him. He didnt see what was so great about Shili, it looked like all the other ones he'd been to.

 

[Tristyn]

Ray sat up and began to change into her togruti regalia, it covered her better then when they were last on Shili and on Dantooine,"Maybe you should start being more strict. Mom wasn't and see how Anara and I almost ended up. If you don't teach them how to respect others....then I don't know.....if one of us is more lenient than the other, then there is an imbalance. That cannot happen"

Tamara joined her cousin again and this time she sat in the pilot's seat and waited for someone to take over. Unlike the last few decades, there were no border security or any warships in the system, so it was smooth flying for now,"Have you ever been to Shili?" She said, looking at Taylor.

While Tammy was away, Taylor had moved to the co-pilot seat and was swinging as she waited for her cousin to come back. When she did, she asked if Taylor had ever been to Shili. "Honestly, I don't think I have. I've seen it over the holo net, but never in person. Is it a nice world?" she asked. Her father had told her about it and he always told her about his missions and adventures with hers and Tammy's mother.

Taylor was definitely excited to see Shili for once in her life and she thought it looked pretty nice from where they were, having never been there before. She looked over to Cain who had just woken up and he looked really tired. "Morning sleepyhead." she said winking at him with a small giggle.

 

[Tristyn]

"Mom says it's nice. That's all she said really" The planet in front of them started to get bigger, prompting Tamara to turn around on her seat,"Dad! We're entering the gravity field! Get up here please!"

 

[Algarus]

Adun sighed and leaned up against the exit of their room. He didn't like being strict on them, maybe it was guilt? Regret? Whatever it was, Adun always felt hesitant to get onto the twins. "I know Ray it's just-"
"Dad! We're entering the gravity field! Get up here please!"
He sighed again and went to leave the room. "Well, better go up front before they start panicking." He said with a small smile on his face. Adun would make his way to the cockpit and settle into the pilot seat. "Morning everyone." He said as he got behind the controls and waited for his wife to join them.

Cain huffed and narrowed his eyes at his cousin over her comment. "Morning." He mumbled. He pressed his head into the chair and let out a sigh. He always felt like this waking up, unless he slept for ten hours. He listened to Tamara and Taylor's discussion but didn't join in, he was tired after all.

 

[Rae Anne Jarrus]

"Well, either way, I'm excited to see everything." she said before looking over to Cain who was practically a morning zombie. She giggled seeing the look he gave her and his response. Taylor looked over to Tamara who called out to her father once they were in gravity range of the planet. Now, it practically towered or engulfed the view that the family had on the ship of the planet. Taylor always found planets to be interesting. As the three cousins waited in the cockpit for their uncle and aunt/mother and father, Taylor started thinking about her parents. She remembered that she had been privately trained on her home world for a few years before she was enlisted into a Jedi Training Academy.

Taylor was shaken from her thoughts as her uncle came into the cockpit, taking over the ship's controls and prepped them for landing. The smile returned to her face as she saw him and greeted him. "Good morning, uncle." she said happily.

 

[Tristyn]

Tamara got off her seat and hugged her dad with one arm as he was about to take the seat,"Morning again, dad!" She went to sit next to her brother and spoke to her mom who had also just the room,"What's the first thing we're gonna do once we land?" Tamara gave no mind to Cain who even grumbled like a zombie.

Ray walked up to the co-pilot's seat and gently put her hand on her niece's shoulder,"Morning, Tay. Did you sleep well?" She ignored her own children, because they weren't morning people and Cain especially hated when people asked him. She would wait for her to answer and get off the chair before sitting down herself.

 

[Algarus]

Cain said nothing as he sat there with his head buried in the seat cushion. Part of him wanted to just stay at home, but he still wanted to be near his sister. Maybe he would actually enjoy the trip, but he wasnt counting on it.

Adun switched over to atmospheric thrusters as they neared the planet. Gravity would pull them in and he'd take over from there. It wasmt as fast, but it saved the repair costs for switching gears so suddenly. He still prefered starfighters, but he loved flying reguardless. He nodded to Rayla as she entered. Adun's mind went blank at Tamara's question. He couldn't remember what they had planned, the past month had been so hectic for him. "Ask your mother, she was the one who planned most of it."
