DESCRIPTION
The AAP-series "blaster box" is a dubiously legal weapon manufactured by the Briletto Company. The AAP is a simple device which consists of a heavy blaster mechanism grafted to a strap-on vest capable of being worn by most humanoids. Although it can be used by organics, the AAP is primarily intended for use by droids; equipped with this device and a simple combat software upgrade, it is intended that any humanoid droid can be converted into a basic combat unit.

AAP "blaster boxes" are intended for droids primarily due to their powerful recoil, which would otherwise limit them to use by large, physically powerful individuals. They also lack conventional controls, being intended to receive firing commands via induction through a droid's casing. Physical controls can be rigged up, but they are generally seen as more trouble than they are worth.

AAP are restricted or illegal on most civilized planets, although they are a favorite black market item.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Due to the nature of this device, AAPs are illegal or at least highly frowned upon on many worlds, directly relating to the restrictions placed on combat droids in much of the Galaxy.

INTENT
To bring a weapon from Legends canon into our site's fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
Due to the nature of their design, AAP-series blaster boxes negate any torso armor worn by an organic character who might choose to wear one. Organic characters must use a physical control box to fire the weapon, which takes up one hand. For both organic and droid characters, a direct hit on the AAP during combat will result in it detonating with the force of a grenade.
