Being Sith Master meant Altair had to put acolytes and Champions through drills and missions. Jakku was considered deserted and empty, but ISB had reports of activity. Curiously, the activity was tied to other Sith - people that were dissidents and becoming a problem. Intel suggested that there were bases set up by these groups with the goal of striking against the Empire. Previous operations had failed and the groups never returned.

Altair arrived on the planet ahead of time and waited for a few acolytes to join him. While this was a risky mission, he had faith that they would pull through. Each acolyte would be assigned five Imperials. Almost nothing was known about the dissidents or the kinds of resources they had.

The tiefling waited for the others to arrive. He would glance at them as soon as they did. He wasn’t the type for slow introductions, so he cut right to the chase.

“I’m Commander Altair Din,” He said, “You’ve all been briefed on the general details of this mission. If you think it’s vague, unfortunately that’s all the intel we have so far. We will have to do a combination of recon and combat to get to the bottom of this insurgent group and wipe them out.”

Altair paused before he continued, “I like to know the kind of group I’m working with. Gimme your name and a Nope Trigger. A Nope Trigger is anything that would make you very likely to bail and ditch the mission,” He knew this would be an odd request, but he didn’t care. It was better to get this out of the way now, “My Nope Trigger is anything creepy. Disembodied voice, freaky inexplicable shit, spooky crap that shouldn’t be happening - my ass is outta there. Everybody has their trigger, so let the group know yours so we ain’t surprised by your nonsense.”

Another day, another dustbowl, and Luwalhati wondered if they had done something terrible to be sent to a deserted desert planet deserters and dissidents chose to build bases on.

Still, the Acolyte was quick to pounce on the opportunity to improve on their combat skills. Their saber hadn't seen much use, and Lu would very much like to be hands on with the learning even if it meant facing danger head on. The near-human blinked at the thought, surprised at the sudden change in their own way of thinking. Normally they shied away from missions that risked their personal safety, but then again they had willingly put themself in danger for the sake of the Empire's success. Hadn't they drank poisoned wine on their mission to bring Mirial within the Empire's fold?

Sure, they were given the antidote before they could kick the bucket. But still...

Lu frowned lightly, a little confused that their thoughts on self-preservation now clashed directly with their choices and actions. They put these on the backburner for now and focused on the current task at hand. Clad in their Senshi combat armor, the Acolyte emerged from the shuttle, still helmetless and their glasses dipping downwards as they sneered at the heat.

Too much sand, eugh.

Lu quickly made a beeline towards Commander Din, trying to keep their expression neutral but the corners of their lips twitched and threatened to form into an excited smile. This man was the Demon Prince, the Warden of Korriban, who managed to effortlessly kill a Jedi Councillor and prevented the Jedi and Resistance's attempt to purge Mustafar. The Tiefling was practically a walking death machine, but then memories of the last Sith party on Eriadu began to pester the Acolyte.

Almost instinctively Luwalhati scanned the area for any potential drama queens. None so far. It would be safe to assume that they were... safe, for now.

Introductions were being made, and Lu was quick to shift their focus back on the matter at hand. With a respectful incline of their head, the Acolyte stood a little straighter and replied, voice meek and quiet, "Acolyte Luwalhati. My blade is at your disposal."

As for their Nope Trigger...

"Centipedes, Commander. They're gross and creepy."

Kadriye stood quiet in the back of the group, looking down at everyone in front of her by virtue of being the tallest one present. Her gaze kept traveling between Altair, the five men she had been put in charge of, and the two other acolytes who were just as tiny as her master. She felt a bit out of place. No, she felt very much out of place, and not because of her height.

When Vahliri had told Kadriye that her training with the Sith would be more challenging than anything she'd faced thus far, the Orcolan girl wasn't exactly expecting something like this. She'd never been in charge of anything in her life, let alone five other people. The acolyte had always had a sharp tongue for authority; it'd gotten her beaten on several occasions. It looked like she'd have to get over her feelings on the matter, though. No one had said she had to be like Horo.

She shifted her weight to her left hip, crossed her arms, and listened with a steady gaze on 'Commander Din' as he began. She was grossly unfamiliar with how military operations or anything like it worked, so when Altair asked for them for their names and 'nope triggers', it was only as strange to her as everything else.

While Kadriye waited for Luwalhati to finish, she raked her brain for anything that could qualify as her 'nope trigger.' It wasn't just something that she didn't like, otherwise, she would pretty quickly be able to mention egotistical assholes who wouldn't stand for anything but getting their way. No, what was she freaked out by?

The Orcolan's dark red gaze fell down to Luwalhati when they claimed centipedes were their 'nope trigger.' Kad would certainly agree they were disgusting, but the arena hadn't exactly been a sterile environment. She'd crushed more bugs until her heel than she'd thrown punches at this point.

Finally, Kadriye decided. "I'm Kad," she began. Realizing that maybe that was a bit too informal, she quickly hurried to provide her whole name. "-riye Yalaz."

"And uh, my nope trigger... so you know when soil- no, mud -grabs your feet when you step into and creates this like... suction that like, traps you and the more you move the further down you sink? And it can be so deep you can sink down to your neck or further and be suffocated in the mud?" Kad shuddered. Anyone who knew what she was talking about would know the panic-inducing feeling of not being able to pull your leg or lower body out of the ground.

"I can't stand the smell of that stuff."

It made her entire body cringe at the first whiff of it. She couldn't do it.

Yasmine hadn't expected to go on a mission so early in her days as an acolyte of the Sith Empire but she guessed it was a common practice here and that all would be well. Walking up to meet the rest of the group here, she saw a few faces she was sure to become familiar with. One was that of a pink haired individual who said they were Luwalhati. An interesting name, Yasmine found it very sweet and pretty. Next was the Orc girl, who was insanely tall and her name was Kad...riye. Who knew you could put spaces in someone's name?

Last and certainly not least was Commander Altair. He needn't an introduction but of course he had given one. Then asked of everyone's nope triggers. His was surprisingly similar to Yasmines, but she couldn't just feel like a copycat so she went to the next thing that made her nope her way out of every situation.
"Hey everyone, I'm Yasmine Veliki (Vehl-lih-kai) and I guess my nope trigger would be the really big monsters and super powerful beings like Darth Trelain and Darth Draugr and Darth Raze and The Empress. If any of them were in front of me angry, I'd definitely have to leave."

Just the thought of them being there would send a shiver up her spine, but word around town was Commander Altair had kicked Darth Draugr's ass before he was promoted so maybe they'd be okay with him here. The sandy dunes were not her favorite place as had to place a small set of goggles on so that the wind didn't blind her with sand.
