DESCRIPTION
The Blastsword is a staple of Adumari culture and is largely considered a mark of status to those within the nobility. For the most part, the weapon closely resembles a sword; however, at it's tip resides an energy outlet. When activated, the emitter glows leaving light trails where the blade's tip has traveled. To fire, the trigger must be pulled at the same time as the tip makes contact. When done correctly, a bolt of energy is fired from the outlet into whatever the weapon is making contact with.The weapon's composition depends heavily on the make and model being acquired. Blastswords produced by Ghephaenne Deeper Craters Weaponmakers are the most prominent and some of the highest quality. The blade is made of pure phrik and it's tang is encased in a light a durasteel alloy and can be wrapped in the material of the user's choice. The guard is traditionally crafted of the same material as the blade, but it's become a fashion trend among the nobility to turn the guard into a work of art.
With the recent restrictions placed on Adumar, the prominence of the weapon planetside has diminished significantly, but the weapon's popularity throughout the galaxy has remained largely unaffected.
LEGALITY
On the planet of Adumar carrying anything other than competitive blades in the open is considered illegal; however, off-planet they're as legal as a vibrosword.INTENT
My intent is to bring a really fun legends weapon into our site's canon. I also plan on using it for my character @Leon Baudelaire.RESTRICTIONS
Blastswords are rare and difficult to use. Obtaining one might be relatively simple, but mastering the weapon without a teacher would be extremely difficult.
