DESCRIPTION
Designed to rush in, hit hard, and rush out. Much more sword than shield, your heavy gun and mobility are your safest options, since your armor won't stop much more than a light infantry blaster cannon. With heavy-duty road wheels and amphibious capabilities, this vehicle can traverse all terrain except the steepest mountains and thickest forests. Power is supplied by huge masses of heavy-duty power cells in the rear half of the vehicle, allowing for both extensive use of the electronic motors in the wheels and the main Gauss cannon. The mass driver cannon can be fitted with shells to defeat several types of targets, including fortifications, other armored vehicles, infantry formations, and even force fields that would be impervious to energy weapons. With a rate of fire of 6 rounds per minute, a single vehicle can do a fair amount of damage.

INTENT
Decidedly low tech, but cheap and reliable, this gives smaller, poorer, or stingier factions the ability to speak softly and carry a big stick. The vehicle is a jack of all trades when it comes to where it can travel, meaning that it can easily move between planets if the story calls for it. It can function on the sands of Tatooine, the fields of Naboo, and the oceans of Mon Calamari. I already have plans for this baby.

Hey there. Welcome to the forums. If you see in the announcements thread, you will see that we will be switching timelines next month. So if this does get approved this timeline, you may not have time to execute whatever you might have planned. Then all submissions and characters are archived as we jump timelines.

Secondly, I'm not a tech authority or anything, but we tend to frown on RL picture bases for tech (does have to look like it fits in Star Wars as a rule) which the picture does look like a RL tank

And I usually give my input on submissions, but I am better with weapons and starships rather than ground vehicles.

Well, poo. On the plus side, if the new timeline really is thousands of years earlier, maybe a low-tech vehicle like this would be better suited for use.

On the downside, if real life tech is frowned on, this is bad news for the ship I am 95% of the way done with (it's pretty much an up-sized WWII B-25 bomber with the propellers swapped out of ion egines and the bomb bay is designed to carry this vehicle). Drawing up this vehicle, I just heavily modified a BTR-90 and stuck a T-72 turret on top.

First off, welcome to SWRP.

Second off, I highly recommend lurking around a bit more, reading a lot, and getting a feel for the RP here before you start dropping tech submissions. As Lightspeed touched on and I'm sure others will tell you (our members are very good at providing assistance and critique for eachother) one of my favorite things to do is to lolnope people's tech submissions.

While there certainly a place for low tech and archaic vehicles and weaponry here, the two biggest things, and the ones I look at first, are 1) Does it fit in the spirit of star wars, and 2) why do we need it? That's before I even begin getting into technical specifications.

This submission, for example. For one, it's hard to picture this thing rolling past a column if battle droids on the streets of Theed. A lot of star wars stuff is based on wwII and cold war era kit, but it's not just straight copies. For two, your intent is light. It tells me why you want it, but it doesn't tell me why we need it. What role does this fill that other approved light tanks and speeders and such don't? Lastly, the Tech itself- mass drivers, slug throwers, and similar weapons in Star wars basically suck. They have niche roles to fill, true, but a mass driver isn't going to fly as a modern and effective main gun on most combat vehicles. Not here, at least, in this timeline or the next.

Now, normally I'd give my critique and give you a chance to address my concerns (unless you're just waaaay out in left field), but with the end of the timeline potentially just days away, I think it's kind of a waste when you could use your time here better on other endeavors. The timeline tech rules are getting a revamp, so check them out after launch of the new TL, and after you've settled in here a bit if you've still got some solid ideas feel free to make some more submissions. Good luck.
