Background

Corruption! It pervaded the galaxy! Sometimes as visible as a supernova. Other times, as dark as intergalactic space. The Sith were a clear blight on the galaxy, but drips of corruption from them penetrated everywhere. The underworld fed from the Sith and the soldiers and senators from the underworld. But in the highest spires of purity, the Jedi, lay a hidden corruption. It should have been obvious, something any decent thinking sentient being would outright oppose. But it wasn't, and Alejandro would show this horror to the world.

He was born in a dark cloistered room and was confined there. His mother was confined as well. Father, on the other hand, wandered freely within the compound but dared not leave. Other rooms had other mothers and children. Every once in a while, he get in a certain mood and beat him. Or his mother.

But every once in a while, he would do some magic. Sometimes, he would make objects move without touching them. Other times, he would make lightning appear from his fingers. Alejandro was terrified of it but yet fascinated. He tried it but it didn't work, he couldn't even get a few sparks.

Then one day, Father didn't wake up. It would be a few days till they were sure he was dead. He had faked it before. But this time, it was different. Finally exploring the compound, Alejandro and the others discovered a ladder that led up. Opening a small latch, they saw a speeder whiz over them. After timidly watching the traffic pass overhead, the family finally emerged from the manhole cover in the middle of Taris.

For a few weeks, they made the evening news as newscaster after newscaster questioned them about life in a secret cult. As a ten year old, Alejandro was overwhelmed by the influx of questions. At the same time, he was knocked over by the hydrant of new information he was learning about the real world. It was just so much bigger and grander than his little corner of the world. He finally understood that Father used the force, but for evil. But then he heard about some other group that used the force, but for good, the Jedi.

He asked to join but was rejected. Too messed up, too much negativity, too old. All grated on him and he was sure he would be the best Jedi ever. He read everything he could on the matter. Investigating old tomes and manuscripts, he learned everything there was to know about the force. At least as much as his local library could provide.

As he progressed through school, he got better and finally was learning at grade level when he got to 8th grade. While not really sociable, he made a few life long friends. One, Mugizu was a fun friend. But he would eventually turn to a dark path. Another also wanted to be a Jedi but was turned down like Alejandro.

In that time, he became obsessed with the media. The storm of media in the first few days of his life at the surface left a stronger impact than he might have guessed at first. When applying for schools, he eventually picked the Alderaan School of Journalism.

He excelled and went on to a prestigious position on Corellia. After a few stories about lost cats, he moved on to a longform piece about the local Jedi monastery. It was a peaceful locale. But something didn't seem right. Something that felt familiar. He didn't see anything, but something seemed oddly familiar. After it was published, there was a handsome profit but he needed to go deeper.

Felucia was his next piece. The battle had just started and Alejandro was sent to cover it. When he arrived, he was at some base out in the middle of the jungle. There were a few border alliance soldiers as well as a few young padawans. While waiting for something to happen, he conversed with them and learned just what sort of life he might have had if he had chosen to become a Jedi. They seemed so innocent in someways yet oddly experienced in others. Much like his own, their childhood was denied to them.

Suddenly, Sith bombers appeared overhead and delivered their payload. In a few short minutes, the base and most of the soldiers and padawans were broken up into tiny pieces. Somehow, Alejandro and one of the padawans managed to survive the onslaught.

With no base left, the two started the journey to the nearest outpost. With no surviving communication tools left and Jedi resources too stretched to notice, they would either make it there or they would die. As they wandered, the padawan began displaying wild mood swings. One minute, he was deeply depressed, the next, he was infuriated at his situation. Every once in a while, he felt emotionless. Alejandro did what he could to comfort him but there was only so much he could do.

When they reached the nearest outpost, the padawan was a physical and mental shadow of what he once was. And he was only 14. He just wasn't ready for that experience.

Both separated after Felucia, the padawan to a mental facility, and Alejandro to his job. Writing the story, Alejandro felt angrier and angrier about what had happened. Once he turned in the paper and footage, he quit his job.

He had a new purpose in life.

Personality
Despite his unique upbringing, Alejandro has matured in a relatively normal human being. To some extent, it did make him more of a perfectionist and idealist than would otherwise. Nevertheless, he was able to avoid many of the mental effects that occur in childhood. His introduction to the larger world was a culture shock but eventually primed him to become more curious about the outside world.

Skills
Pretty good with a camera and with a pen. Fairly good at interviewing. Also not too bad with survival on Felucia for a week.

Attributes
In physical strength, Alejandro works out every once in a while but clearly not a lunk. Most of his dexterity comes from getting a perfect shot with a camera. Fairly healthy, he did survive a week long trek through the wilderness of Felucia. He's fairly intelligent and inquisitive. He hasn't made any particularly rash decisions in his lifetime. Often, people read what he writes and listen when he speaks.

Gear
Paper, a pen, a camera, and the need for the truth!

@Cailst think you should rethink why the jedi wouldnt accept your character, since currently they cared little about age, and sure he might be full of negatively but if he was still young they would have accepted him.

Also need to have the Faction leaders agree on this since it involves all three main factions @Bauren @Marf @Nor'baal
