Across the forum, over the past year (and a bit?) there has been loads of work done on the AMS virus, its spread and control. However, following some chats on the discord, I'd like to see if some of the stories 'on the ground' as it were, could also be told?
As such, I'm looking to do a series of one-off plots, telling the story of what happened to the normal people of certain worlds across the galaxy, when the virus broke out. They'll be done as survival threads, with dice DMing, and - before people sign up - the chance of your character surviving is going to be very very low.
What I am therefore looking to do is a series of plots, with custom made 'ordinary joe' style characters, and to tell the story of what happened in those worlds. The objective: Survive as long as possible.
Proposed Plots
- Ubrikkia - Currently one of the most heavily infected worlds in the galaxy, this planet is an industrial world, dotted with factory compounds. As such, this plot will follow a team of factory workers, who live and work on a compound on the outskirts of one of the mid-tier cities on Ubrikkia. Workers, engineers, foremen, security guards, unions, will all need to work together as they hear tell of a strange new virus in the galaxy, only to find it has arrived on Ubrikkia, and, their planet is heading into quarantine, which could trap them all here.
- Tatooine - A distant desert world, yet to have fallen to the grip of the virus, this plot can start with one of two groups. Either, a moisture farmer and their family, or a tribe of Tuskens. In either case, you'll find the virus is planetside, and soon realise the only way off-world, if that's the path you chose, is to head into the cities swarming with victims of the virus.
- Kashyyyk - Something @Darasuum may be taking the lead on, this plot could see a group of players heading back the forest floor of Kashyyyk, hunting or seeking a downed ship, only to be caught out by the virus, which is washing across the planet.
- Wherever - A group of hikers/hunters/trappers out on a job, is isolated by an electrical storm knocking out their comms. The thread starts a week later, the storm ends and comms come back on line, informing the group that their planet has been hit by a strange virus, and overwhelmed.
There's no 'deadline' for when these need to start, as a lot of them will be 'prequels', telling of events that have already occurred. It's all about adding flavour to the virus outbreak.
So, naturally, I am in for all of them, but I am looking for people with time and availability to dive in, and try something totally different!
