FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES:
An Electronic Plant
Most of Coruscant's diners near the surface pretty well stayed packed every hour of the night, but Lenoro's was awful. Everything about it was awful. The food was awful. The service was worse. Even the caf was bad. How do you mess up caf? Despite the heavy foot traffic, Lenoro's usually had empty seats. Salvatore Russo sat in one of the booths by the front window, letting his caf grow cold because it tasted like bantha piss. He rubbed the temples of his bald head wondering how he got where he was. This would be a transition for Russo. He started his career as an undercover hero cop and finished a dirty, murdering cop. His career trajectory could have been so much different. He could have been a ranger. Could have risen up the ranks of CorSec had he played it clean. As it were, he was longer playing copper. He was looking for work, dirty work. Illegal work.

His criminal contacts in the Skids put him with the right people, and Sal knew this gig was tied to the 5 Syndicates. If Sal was going to be a criminal, he'd be damned if he worked for some rinky-dink operation with no real upside. He had too many skills and too much to offer to take orders from some two-bit spice smuggler. If he could freelance with the 5S for a while, maybe he could get an invitation to join a family full time. So, here he was at Lenoro's, ready to do a job. He was told his job was to break into a senator's apartment and stand guard as a slicer hacked into the politician's datapad and added a few files to it.

When Russo asked who the slicer was, he was told he would find out at Lenoro's. He would meet him there. Sal asked how he would know who the slicer was, but was told that the slicer was smart enough to figure it all out between them and not to worry. Well, Russo did worry. He dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. That's why he was good at what he did. But, even though he was a dirty cop, and a former cop at that, he was still a cop. Gaining the trust of the galactic criminal underground would be no easy thing to do.

Russo cussed under his breath and pushed the mug of caf further away, some of it sloshing out onto the table. He waved a waitress over and ordered something harder, an ale. He was positive it would come back lukewarm. He sighed and waited on this smarty-pants slicer. The slicer had the data to plant and Russo had the address and the job to get them in and out without any evidence. Maybe he could force this beer down before his mystery partner showed up. Until then, he kept his eyes on the front doors that led to the lobby of the apartment complex that Senator Maroo used as his primary living quarters when dealing with senate business on Coruscant.

Taldorak would enter the bar in his full kit, he was starting to become a most minor of celebrities in the criminal underworld, at least on Coruscant. He had several instances of being recorded fighting CSF and escaping their clutches. With him, would be a woman garbed in a cloak. He had gotten a call about providing security for a Zaa Fenn slicer from Preef Callo himself. Well, maybe not from the man, but it came from his camp. Visor scanning the diner, it fell on the contact.

Crossing the room, several people would go out of their way to move around Tal and his escort, or maybe he was the escort? Either way, he could qualify for one. Minor blasts for creds and all. Joining Sal where he was, he'd look to the waitress who came running over. "Get me three of what he has, but chilled glasses. I don't like drinking warm beer, yeah?" she would nod before scurrying back to get the drinks. "So.." his gaze shifted back to Sal. "..You're the former cop, yeah? This is Scratch.." he'd nod to the woman. "I'm Tal."

Sal looked at the two of them quite confused. He was told there would be one person, a slicer only. He wasn't told much other than the slicer was a genius of sorts and that the slicer was a "he." With all due respect to the mandalorian, he didn't look like a genius. And with all due respect to the woman in the cloak, she did not look like a "he."

Russo leaned back and looked at the pair for a long while after he was posed the question. The silence became quite awkward after a while. Some of this was on purpose. Awkward social situations create anxiety. Anxiety makes people speak before they have a chance to think about what they should say. And even then, Russo didn't answer the question. He answered the question with a question. Two questions, actually. "What happened to the partner I was expecting...And why are you two here?"

The waitress would return with their drinks, setting down the chilled glasses. Tal slid one over to Scratch, then one over to Sal. He would then take the warm glass that was nearly finish and hand it back to her. "You disgust me, woman. How could ya give anyone a lukewarm beer."

He would laugh at the woman before his attention shifted back to Sal. "Well, if I read the memo on the way over, he got eaten by a karkarodon or some osik." he really didn't. The guy just disappeared and well, Tal liked this story better. "So, the Family sent this beauty to my left to get the job done. I'm here to protect her from grabby hands, bolts, you name it."

Scratch didn't seem at all entertained by the Mandalorian, but the story about the other slicer did elicit a small smile from her. "So, here we are." she would then take her glass and take a long sip from it. Gods knew she would need it.

This seemed a bit unprofessional to Russo. Not a great first impression for his first job. Here he was thinking that he was the one that needed to put forth an A+ performance to make a name within the family structure, but he was wondering what sort of organization this group actually had. Being a cop, he was a little wary about this being an undercover sting, but it was a risk he would have to take.

"Yeah. Here we are," Russo said. "I did a walkthrough a couple of days ago posing as someone looking for an apartment. The senator stays in apartment 456B. It's a corner suit on the 4th floor. It's the only floor with cameras. We need to do better than disable them. That will look suspicious. What we need is to get access to the security camera system and slice into it. Create a loop while we're taking care of business so it looks like it stayed live."

"Easy-peasy, starfruit squeezy," Scratch said.

"Yeah, well, the loop has to be clean. Nobody going to the same door over and over again and never coming out. No bug that flies on to the camera and then flies away every 47 seconds. Clean footage. Looks like a still frame."

"Excuse me, newb, I'm a professional," Scratch said. There was some irritation there. "If I'm going to be talked down to, you can slice the cameras and the datapad yourself."

Sal stayed cool. "I didn't hire you. If you want to go back and tell the boss that you got your feelings hurt and refused to plant the goods, go ahead." He looked at Tal. "The security system is in a room behind the front desk. It's an office, and there is someone in there. One of us will have to coax him out so that our slicer can get in and get the loop going."

Russo looked at the apartment complex across the street in long thought. "On its face, this job seems easy, but those cameras could definitely cause a problem if someone starts a real investigation." He turned back to the two across from him in the booth. "That's priority number one."

Tal sighed. Cops. He hated them. And this ex-one just got real uppity. "Sal. Say another word I don't like well, I'd threaten to kill you, but frankly that has an ending. So, I promise you, that you will wish for death. Scratch is the best in the business at what she does. Remember, this is a try-out for you. She definitely controls whether or not you get into the Family, and if you kriff up here, well, your best bet would be the Lower Five." he would remove his helm with one hand and clip it his belt, that same hand would then grab his chilled glass of beer and he'd drain it in one go.

"Since you already posed as a potential tenant, distracting the security officer is on you, cop. You have the most to prove here, so expect your hands to get the dirtiest, which.. I'm sure is something you're capable of doing." The hand would move pull the helm back on. "I suggest, you don't kriff up. As a... professional courtesy. Personally, I hope you do.. We could have -soo- much fun." he'd rise from his seat and toss a small sack of creds to the waitress. "You know what that's for." then to the others. "Let's go."

Was this guy questioning his professionalism? The one that had done all the legwork and research? The one that was ON TIME? Sal pulled the shades down from his head and covered his eyes. "Yeah, well, I've put better men than you behind bars and under the ground, so if you can't control yourself, we can certainly settle things....after we take care of business." He would grin and tilt his head and speak in an extremely sarcastic manner. "Because that's the professional thing to do."

He watched the door as this "partner" tried to be all impressive by downing his beer in one long chug. Sal didn't watch. He had a job to do. But the man was right. Sal would be responsible for distracting the guy in the office. He had to keep him busy long enough for the cameras to get fixed up nice and clean should any cops start poking around.

The senator stepped out of the complex, hailed a taxi, and was off. The Mando said, "Let's go," and Russo left a few credits to pay for things and took to across the street. The other two associates would have to wait in hiding somewhere. Because it was an apartment complex, the front desk didn't have to be manned like a hotel would be.

The office door was open, but Sal didn't see anyone inside. "Excuse me?" Sal called out. "Manager?" No response. Sal slipped behind the front desk and looked into the office. It was empty. He got on his commlink to the other two, "Office is open, but nobody is home. Go ahead and get started. I'll intercept if the manager shows up."

"You better not hang us out to dry, Pig," Scratch said back over comms.

The police officer insult...so typical. "I'll paint the foyer with the manager's brains before I let him get to you guys. Don't worry about me."

Tal would laugh at the cops words. He was a feisty one. "Alright Princess, we can do the dance after the job." he teased back. "But I do require to be wined and dined before such an affair can happen."

Him and Scratch would wait at a newsstand just outside the the building, blended enough with the crowds to not draw too much suspicion, but free enough to move once the comm came in. "Office is open, but nobody is home. Go ahead and get started. I'll intercept if the manager shows up."

As Sal spoke he would pay the shopkeep for a copy of Rodian's Digest, tucking the mag into a larger pouch on his belt. They would then swing back into the main lobby, moving quickly to avoid to much suspicion. "Alright Scratch, this is all on you." Tal mused.

He posted in the corner of the security room, just out of sight. If anyone walked in, he'd have the jump on them. He hated stealth work. But this was something that the Zaa Fenn asked him to do, so he was here.

The plan was in motion. Sal didn't know why they were doing what they were doing. He didn't know what data they were trying to plant, but if they were trying to frame a Senator, either the 5S was making a major power play or someone with some major pull had hired them out to do a job. Either way, it was a huge opportunity for Russo. He couldn't afford for this to go south.

Scratch slid into the office and half shut the door so nobody could see her working on the cameras. Smart play not to shut it completely. That would look awfully suspicious if the apartment manager walked in and saw a door shut that he purposefully left open. Half closed? Could have been the wind. Could have been that he didn't push it open as much as he thought. Minutes ticked by and Sal sighed before talking into his comms. "How are we doing in there? The guy won't stay gone forever. Especially if he left the office door wide open."

"Hey, Pig," Scratch shot back over comms. "What you're asking for ain't grade school stuff. If you want it done right, it's going to take a little time."

Sal popped his neck. All he could do is let Scratch do the work of recording a long space of no activity and then slice it to show that loop playing for the next couple of hours. Well, things were going to get hairy. The apartment manager entered the lobby wiping his nose with his sleeve. Sal had seen that look before. He was doped up on spice. He came from the back alley where he probably just bought a hit and went ahead and partook back there.

Sal whispered to the Mandalorian. "I think I can handle this without having to shoot anybody. Beep me twice when you're clear with the office. If you use the stairs use the ones on the east side of the building. I'll make sure we'll take the ones on the west side of the building."

Russo jogged with a huge smile and cut the manager off who was trying to shake off the spice so he could act professionally. But the old copper knew how to play it. "Hey, Georgie! Good seeing you again!"

"Oh, uh...hey, Mr. Leopa," he stuttered out, trying to remember the false name that Russo gave him. It was actually Leoda, but pretty close.

Sal laughed, "It's Leoda! Remember, Georgie? Anyway, I think I'm a go for Unit 327D." He patted the spaced out manager on the shoulder. "But you know me, Georgie...I need one more good look. I do have a concern about the lift door on that level. Let me show you what I mean."

Georgie sniffled and said, "Ok, ok. Let me get the key. It's in the office." He tried to walk by Sal, but Sal quickly cut him off again and turned him around.

"Don't worry about the key to the room. I've seen the room. C'mon. I just want to show you the lift issue and see if you can get it fixed." Russo started pushing him to the stairs. If they took the stairs up three flight of stairs, it would take more time than taking the lift. "We'll use the stairs because I'm not comfortable with the lift doors on the third floor."

Poor Georgie was too strung out to say no to much of anything. Hopefully, he would be too strung out to remember this story about the lift...Either way, Sal was offering Scratch precious time to get done so that she and the Mando could take care of business on the 4th floor without the cameras recording them. Hopefully, they'll be in and out and ghosts in the wind. Then this Senator would be on the hook for....something. What it was, Sal didn't know, and wasn't on the need to know list. He was just satisfied to be on the "paid" list.

Tal watched as Scratch worked, visor shifting from her to the slightly open door. As Sal warned them on the comms, he could hear a second voice outside the door and man did Tal really know that tone of voice. "Peaceful would probably be best.." he mused to the woman. "Or else a dead body would raise some questions." he would then speak into the comms. "If you have to kill him, copper, we'll stage it like either an OD or a dealer killed him."

Scratch was hard at work, even he knew it was no easy task and despite the trickiness of what she was doing, she did it with utmost ease. The woman was a magician or a witch, made even moreso impressive by the lack of an arm. "Almost done, Tal." she would say as she worked. "Don't get your panties in a bunch." a grin forming on her lips. "So, you going to kill him still?"

"Jokes on you, going commando." He fired back, visor now focused on the lobby. "We'll see. Too early to tell."

"Alright. Done. Let's move." Scratch would say as she began to pack up her stuff. "Eastern stairwell?"

"Eastern Stairwell." Tal would open the door and slip out, checking for the coast to be clear. Seeing nobody, he'd wave their hacker forward. They moved down the hall and a past a few rooms before they reached the eastern stairwell. As they reached the first landing, he'd beep Sal twice on the comms. Up and up the pair would go, Scratch viewing the feed on her datapad. Their trek would take them all the way to outside the fourth floor entry and he stopped to look back at Scratch. "We still good?" he would send four beeps over the comm. Fourth floor.

The beeps came across the commlink, and Russo knew the others were on the 4th floor. So far, so good. And with the apartment manager stoned out of his dome, there was a good chance he wouldn't cause anymore problem. In fact, if Sal could get him back to the office, he might fall asleep. It might just be smooth sailing from there on out.

Of course, there was nothing wrong with the door to the lift. Sal just looked at it approved for a while, while Georgie just looked confused. "Must have gotten it fixed, Georgie," Sal said. "That's what I like to see. Right on top of things."

Georgie sniffled and wiped his nose again. "Right. Thanks, I guess."

"Matter of fact, I feel comfortable enough to take the lift down." Sal hit the down button and soon, the two hopped on the elevator and took the lift down to the lobby. "Well, Georgie, I might hang around the lobby for a little bit. If this going to be home, I have to make sure I feel the...vibe, you know?"

Georgie just shrugged and walked back into his office.

Sal got back on his comms. "Manager is back in his office. Let me know before you come back down. I'll check the stairwell and make sure it's clear."

Tal would Scratch would enter the hallway upon seeing the feed staying the same. Beautiful. They moved quickly and without much notice. Reaching 456B, Tal would listen at the door. So far, nothing coming from the other side. He would then watch the hall as Scratch hacked the lock. Easy Peasy, she had said earlier.

Pushing inside the room, Tal would be sure to lock the door. "Alright Scratch, do what you gotta do. I need to add a bit to this."

The woman would set to work not only locating his holopad, but slicing it. "This shouldn't take long. I'm also adding some rather.. compromising information to this. Websites, pictures, even videos.." she'd say as she worked.

"Oh yeah? Making this guy even more of a creep than he already is? I dig that."
Taldorak would then remove several bags of spice from a pouch on his belt and head into the bedroom. Pulling his knife free, he would lift the mattress and cut a small hole into it, stuffing the spice inside. "Oh my, Mr. Senator.. that alone is a felony." Tal mused to himself.

-----

Downstairs, the lover would enter the building, her description having been sent to all members of the op.

Now, just what in the hell was she doing here? And where was the Senator? He was supposed to be on his way to her place? At any rate, the redhead was storming her way to the lift doors all kinds of pissed off it appeared, so Sal let her get there. He peeled in right behind her, and before she could hit the lift button, he stuck one of his DG-34's into her back, tucked in real close between them to conceal it. "No, no. Say a word and I'll give the lobby new wallpaper with your insides, get it?"

The woman caught her breath and nodded. Her anger instantly flipped to fear.

"Good. We're taking the stairs." Sal led her to the stairwell where there were no cameras and pinned her to the wall with the business end of the Peacemaker pinned against her forehead. "Why are you here? The Senator is headed to your place."

The girl started to cry. "Who are you? Is the senator going to have me killed now?"

Sal slapped her hard across the face. "I'm asking the questions, not you. Where is the senator?"

"I don't know...I don't know." She broke down crying. "He broke up with me earlier this week. Are you not doing the dirty work for him? I think he has another mistress. I guess I wasn't...I don't know."

So, the senator was likely heading to rendezvous with a new girlfriend. Russo didn't figure that would matter, but the old girlfriend certainly put a kink in the situation. "So the senator is not with you?"

She was holding her cheek now and still crying. She shook her head no. "He's probably visiting his new slut...probably in our meeting place."

"You'd much prefer he be with his old slut, right?" Sal said with a grin. "Well, let's make the most of it. Go up the stairs. Scream, and you're dead." The former cop got on his comms. "Guys, I'm coming up with a visitor. I think we have a golden opportunity before us."

Sal would lead her up the stairs, check the hallway, and once it was clear rush her into the Senator's apartment. Russo knew better than to use Scratch and Tal's name in front of a witness. "Hey, Thing 1 and Thing 2..." Sal shoved the girl to the floor. She was still holding her cheek. "This is the Senator's slut....Pardon me. Ex-slut. Slut was the word you used, right? Anyway, get her fingerprints all over stuff...maybe official FWA stuff. Get them on the datapad. Make it look like she had access to official secret FWA business. Maybe some things that make it look a little more....naughty." He stood over the girl who was trying to back away, but she pinned herself against a desk. Sal looked down to her and pointed his blaster at her face. "You're going to cooperate. You're going to be escorted out by these two wonderful people after they are done. And then...and then you will forget about tonight. You will forget about us. It is in our best interest for you to be alive and to forget all about us. It helps our cause. But, if we think you have loose lips...if we can get to the Senator, we can get to you...and then it will be in our best interest for you not to be alive. Do you understand."

She was bawling and nodding. "I do, I do. I swear I do."

Sal holstered his gun and smiled. "Good. I like dealing with reasonable people. And besides, what a great way to get back at the man who dumped you for a new slut, right? I'm going to leave you to do whatever these two tell you to do. And I suggest you do exactly as you are told. I'm the nice one. He's the mean one."

He pulled Tal over to the side. "Get her evidence all over everything. She should be cooperative. If it were me, I would take one of the senator's knives from his kitchen, walk her out in an alley a few blocks away, and kill her. Frame the senator for it. Whatever we're putting on that datapad I'm sure isn't good for him, but if it's for leverage they're after, I can't imagine better than leverage than having the good senator on the hook for the murder of his mistress."

He watched as Scratch seemed to be oblivious to everything that was going on. She was stuck in her work. Sal shrugged and continued talking to Tal off to the side. "But, you do what you think is best. I'm going to go back downstairs and take watch again."

The best part about dirty cops? They loved a good cover-up. And this was about the best luck they would get. As Sal mentioned over to him, he leaned in. "Oh yeah, Thing 3, I like the sound of that." his gaze shifted over to the woman "Come with me, love." he looked to Sal. "Let us know if anything else goes wrong. Also, remove the loop. We'll be exiting a different route."

Grabbing ahold of her arm, he forced her around the apartment, having her lay down on the bed, touch the appliances, he even put her fresh looking lip stick to use by having her 'sip' from a used mug in the sink. The would make the rounds, putting her prints on everything. Tal would even get friendly with her, subtle gestures, a calm tone. "So, the shit head is cheating on you? What a scumbag. Leaving you, a real vision, for probably some low-life slag."

"I know, right? I hate that guy. This feels so good! I promise I won't tell anyone about this. I mean it, I hate him so much." she would say.

"Oh yeah, I'm sure you do. What's your name, love?"

"Tammy Ronoor." she would say. Ugh, what a hideous name. No wonder he left her.

"Tammy? What a gorgeous name." they would pass by the sink and he paused. "Tell ya what, why don't we send him a revenge holo, yeah?" his gaze shifting to the sink where there was already a used knife.

"A holo? What? No, maybe.. You think that would show him?" Tammy asked. Boy was this broad dumb.

"Oh yeah, why don't you get ready, I'll be right there." Tal would say, grabbing the knife as she hurried into the bedroom once again. He'd let her disrobe partially before he entered after her, driving the blade into her several times. "Sorry love, I already got a boo thang." Crimes of passion were normally odd amounts of stabs and so he'd follow suit. Fourteen stabs, he'd allow her blood to get on the tile of the bedroom, he screams muffled by his other hand.

Taldorak would lower her to the ground, letting the blood spill a bit, before exiting the room. "Alright Scratch, we got ourselves a winner."

The woman would look bemused as she leaned back to see the body. "You really are a deranged man.. I'll be sure to pass on both you and Sal's work to the bosses." she would then return to the hack, activating her comm. "Sal, use your pull with the Manager. Edit the account to show the room was in her name as well. Tammy Ronoor."

As she talked to Sal, Taldorak would pull a large rug free from the tv room and take it into the bedroom where he rolled up the body. He knew how to clean up a kill, but he imagined a Senator, would not. Using some chemicals, he would lazily wipe up the blood once the body was rolled up, leaving her shirt under the bed and wrap the knife in a towel and throw it in the trash receptacle. Pleased with the lack of progress in cleaning the mess, he would finish it off by grabbing the small rug from the bathroom and cover up the blood stain. Perfect. "Alright Scratch, I'll grab the body, we'll leave via the fire escape."

"I think the Senate may give the senators a stipend for a place to stay on Coruscant. If the senator doesn't have an apartment here, that may look suspicious. Better leave it in his name," Sal said over comms. "Besides, as a former LEO, tracking the body to his apartment makes him suspect number one. Tal, take a picture of the body with his knife on top of it. That should get his attention if we need it. Just do a double-check and make sure the apartment looks just as you remember it walking in."

Sal started making his way around to the back alley where the fire escape was. He let them know he was that way. There were a few bums in the alley sitting against the building. Other than it was clear. Sal pulled out a stack of credits and them to go get a great cup of caf across the street at Lenoro's. It was actually a crappy cup of caf, but for homeless bums, they might find it gourmet. Sal gave a long inspection in the alley, checking behind dumpsters, behind every ledge, in every nook. The place was clear. "Alley is clear guys. If we move it, I think we're good."

"Arrghhh..."

Jak groaned as he sat there from the diner looking through the transparent glass, watching some of this unfold. He smirked and licked his chops at the activities taking place, however, he didn't know what the end goal was for these lots. He had only observed a couple of faces entering the apartment complex, he pondered as to what they wanted from such a casual place of leisure. Something smelled, dirty. Not like your average sewer system or urban landscape, but foul as any criminal. Funny enough, he himself was sort of a fugitive, running from the law enforcement that plagued every corner of the galaxy. This didn't phase him, even if they weren't apart of some illegal operations it probably wasn't his business in the first place.

He stood up from his seat and left a minuscule amount of credits heading outside. He sniffed the air and picked up some unusual scents from the back alley, something reeked of chemicals, garbage, and ...blood? Strange, around an apartment even. Something wasn't right. He looked around and made his way through the alleyway of the building complex.

Taldorak would take the necessary pictures and grabbed the rolled up body, heading for the fire escape. Scratch was already making her out. The room looked tidy save for the staged efforts of a man thinking he successfully cleaned up a murder. Scratch would make her way down the fire escape, agile as ever, despite lacking an arm.

The Mandalorian was just as agile despite the added weight of a rolled up dead ex-lover. He wasn't so much as nimble as the hacker in his current state and near the bottom of the fire escape, he would just drop the rug down to the ground below before hopping the rail.

Now down in the alley, he would gesture for Scratch to jump, who did so, and he caught her. Setting her down quickly he would grab the rug and lift it. "Open the dumpster, we're going to bury her in the trash. I wore gloves so we should be good." As Sal opened the lid, he'd shove the rug inside, sweeping some of the trash over the rug, but not too well. They wanted to ensure the body was found after all. "Alright, so, we're going to need you to move into the room while this all gets sorted out. That way, we can reach the Senator. We need to find a way for someone outside of us to call the cops, let em know a man matching the Senator's description was in the alley with a large object before fleeing the scene."

He was going to say some thing else, but was cut off by the sound of someone entering the alleyway. Spinning, he unslung Rayna, and had her drawn on the newcomer.

"Hey, we don't want the cops to get on this just yet. If the cops start investigating it, we don't have the leverage. We don't want the body unless we need the body to be found. We also don't need the body to be found until it's sat a while. We need to give the coroner to have a window long enough for the Senator to have been there at the time of death." Sal sighed. The 5S might cold really use his expertise in how the law enforcement side works. "In fact, we need to hide the body so that if the Senator complies, the body would never be found."

"Oh, give me a break,"
Sal said under his breath at some scalebrain came around the corner and entered the alley. He held up a hand to Tal to hold off on the shooting. A shootout here would be a disaster for the plan staying quiet. They also didn't need this Trandoshan getting in on the skinny. If bodies started to multiply, so would the difficulty in getting out of this clean.

Sal was fortunate this was Coruscant. In a lot of ways it similar to Corellia, his stomping ground where he had gone undercover. Where he had led strike teams. Where he had done a lot of good police work...and a lot of dirty police work. He approached the Trandoshan and pulled out his old badge. It was 100% genuine. There was nothing fake about it. It was the badge he wore on the very streets not long ago. The very badge that current CorSec detectives wore. Corellia and Coruscant had very similar cultures, and their badges reflected. And you almost had to be a cop to tell the difference between a CorSec badge and a Coruscanti badge.

"Excuse me," Sal said in his old cop voice. "I'm Detective Theo Rosetta of Coruscant Police. Right now, we're clearing this alley. It is the focus of an investigation. Please remove yourself from the alley or be subject to arrest." Russo made sure that when he reached for his badge, his jacket got hung up on one of his Peacemakers, a gun commonly associated with law enforcement in the core worlds.

Jak's mind went wild as the scent became stronger with each step, the moment he was close to the dumpster he saw a..rather familiar face. Strange, he saw one not too long ago on the corellian posters about some revered tough cop. By the looks of it the man was a bit taller than him and even a bit larger than he had anticipated, this didn't scare him however, he smirked and raised a scaly reptilian hand.

"Calm down, I jusssst.."

He looked to see a gun prodding out of the shadows, along with a badge hanging loosely next to it. He had been beaten, detained, and even ostracized from his own kind, this didn't scare him enough. He looked around to see if there were any witnesses before focusing on the other peculiar site..a Mandalorian. He heard tales about them from his parents, how they had mastered air travel without the assistance of ships and how bloodthirsty they were under the code of honor and tribe, similarly to the Trandoshan's traditions.

"Is that anyway to ssssstart a conversssation?"

He motioned to his DL-44 Blaster on his hip, he wasn't going to go down without a fight or at least some answers. He didn't even want to hurt anyone..at least not too bad. He just smelled something 'funny'.

"Sssso...anywaysss.."

He licked and caressed his scaly lips with his serpentine tongue.

"I sssmelled sssssomething funny in the alleyway, rotten...care to exsssplain?"

He said, it was hard to distinguish some of what he said from his accent. I meant he did speak dosh which was a native tongue to his species.

Care to explain? Did he know he was talking to a police officer? Or, at least he shouldn't have any idea that he wasn't. Did he talk to all LEO like this? Trandoshans...High on the senses, low on good sense.

"No, I don't care to explain. This is what you can an in-ves-ti-ga-tion." He talked real slow, because it appeared the lizard was slow on the uptake. "We don't discuss the details of current investigations with civilians. Surely that's how they do it wherever you call home. But you can explain it to people in jail if you want to stick around." Russo raised the commlink on his wrist to his mouth. "Dispatch, this Detective Rosetta, badge number 55Y9VS. Do you copy?"

Scratch was right on the money. And apparently, had enough time slicing into scanners, she knew all the lingo from dispatches across the galaxy. "Copy Detective. This is Dispatch." Best part was, because she only had one arm, Scratch had an earpiece and a microphone set, so the Trandoshan wouldn't see her raise the commlink to respond, and even with the increased hearing of a Trandoshan, he shouldn't be able to Scratch's live voice because of the distance and the ambient noise of the city.

"We have a Trandoshan impeding an investigation in the back alley of the Civat Apartment Complex. Send me two units and tell them to get her quick. I have a feeling this guy isn't one to respect authority and is going to force us to do things the hard way, and I have a crime scene I don't need contaminated. My guys are continue working the scene over." Sal hoped these two got the message. While he handled the Trandoshan, the other two needed to take care of the evidence. And honestly, the sensible thing for the Trandoshan do at this point would be to leave before he got arrested. Now, did the Trandoshan have any sense?

"Roger that," Scratch said posing as dispatch. "Sending two units now, will check and see if others are nearby and clear to go."

Sal pulled out his datapad and started asking the typical questions. "Ok, buddy. What's your name. You aren't being arrested...yet. But I get the feeling you're going to impede an investigation, so let's go ahead and get the formalities out of the way."
