FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES:
An Electronic Plant
His criminal contacts in the Skids put him with the right people, and Sal knew this gig was tied to the 5 Syndicates. If Sal was going to be a criminal, he'd be damned if he worked for some rinky-dink operation with no real upside. He had too many skills and too much to offer to take orders from some two-bit spice smuggler. If he could freelance with the 5S for a while, maybe he could get an invitation to join a family full time. So, here he was at Lenoro's, ready to do a job. He was told his job was to break into a senator's apartment and stand guard as a slicer hacked into the politician's datapad and added a few files to it.
When Russo asked who the slicer was, he was told he would find out at Lenoro's. He would meet him there. Sal asked how he would know who the slicer was, but was told that the slicer was smart enough to figure it all out between them and not to worry. Well, Russo did worry. He dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. That's why he was good at what he did. But, even though he was a dirty cop, and a former cop at that, he was still a cop. Gaining the trust of the galactic criminal underground would be no easy thing to do.
Russo cussed under his breath and pushed the mug of caf further away, some of it sloshing out onto the table. He waved a waitress over and ordered something harder, an ale. He was positive it would come back lukewarm. He sighed and waited on this smarty-pants slicer. The slicer had the data to plant and Russo had the address and the job to get them in and out without any evidence. Maybe he could force this beer down before his mystery partner showed up. Until then, he kept his eyes on the front doors that led to the lobby of the apartment complex that Senator Maroo used as his primary living quarters when dealing with senate business on Coruscant.
