Hi, so I was wondering how exactly it works to make threads when it comes to finding artifacts in the Approved site lore section. I looked through "mission packs" and all I can tell is that it just has to be open for others to join and usually has a layout for who will be mainly a part of the thread.

When it comes to the actual RP itself does the character have to have some sort of knowledge/information prior to starting out the mission or can that be the beginning part of the mission. I was reading the post Darth Kravos' Sith Holocron and wanted to see if anyone was interested in doing threads searching for it unless someone already found it.

Unless is it something a mod or admin has to start up which others become a part of?

You'll go here and submit a plot that can either be accepted or rejected. Usually, first, you'll do an interest check thread basically saying "Hey I have this idea, who is interested? Looking for about x amount of people to oppose my character and x amount of people to join my character". After a while, you'll have a decent amount of people wanting to join especially for Holocron stuff. After you do the interest check then you'll do the plot submission.

Not sure how it works for mission packs or if the rules changed but usually finding artifacts is for plots. Artifacts are items that can affect the entire site so that's usually a plot worthy thing since it allows other people to join in rather than being a straight forward mission. Also important to note that the reward of getting the artifact isn't guaranteed if the opposing side works well enough they can stop you. Also, believe that mods watch over plots too to make sure everything is fair. They also review plots once they are finished.

Also probably best to start out with a smaller plot that leads up to the Holocron. You could make finding the location of the Holocron as part of the plot but I think it would just get too big and complex at that point. You would have to somehow learn about the Holocron, discover the location of the Holocron, attempt to get the Holocron, and all of that while facing opposition a decent chunk of the way. Might be easier to just start off with a smaller plot where the reward is learning about the Holocron, then you can create a second plot where you actually try and get the Holocron. That way it will be a lot smoother, you can add more detail, and you can also get more use to plots that way.

When you do finally make a plot for your idea lmk! Sounds interesting

@Allevia Sayso is incorrect. Plots are no longer a thing. The specifics of finding an artifact are up to the writer but ideally it involves significant effort and a reason to be looking for it.

Also, the Kravos holocron is currently in the possession of Emryc Thorne.

Edit: It could be part of a mission pack to involve more people or, for instance, be a lengthy thread or series of threads with just two or three. Up to you and your fellow writers. ?

So basically just as I continue RPing my character I can eventually start working them up towards the goal of learning about a certain artifact and I can just do it in a normal thread?

Also is there some sort of list that shows what artifacts are available or are all the artifacts listed taken already, meaning I would have to create my own. Still trying to learn how to navigate through the site ;p

Essentially, yup!

We're working on categorizing has and hasn't been found already. Currently there isn't a list.
