DESCRIPTION
The AT-TE, known formally as the All-Terrain Tactical Enforcer, was a heavy combat walker manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards and originally developed for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Designed as a heavy breakthrough vehicle for assaulting dug in enemy positions, the AT-TE was slow, but well armored, well armed and undeniably steady.

Standing 9.57 meters tall and bearing its weight on 6 legs, the AT-TE has a crew of 8, including a driver and 7 gunners. The walker is armed with 6 medium laser cannons in ball mounts, as well as a single medium projectile cannon, a huge weapon based nominally on cycler technology. Though considered obsolete even at the time of its development, the use of this technology allowed the weapon to arc its projectiles over obstacles in a way standard blaster or laser cannons could not do. The cycler cannon is mounted in a dorsal turret, and does have some drawbacks; the gun's operator sits relatively exposed in a seat directly behind the weapon, and is thus vulnerable to being picked off by sharpshooters or other hostile units. As such, the cannon is typically only used at long range, where it is most effective anyway.

One exceptionally interesting and useful capability possessed by the AT-TE is the ability to scale shear surfaces. Equipped with extra powerful magnatomic adhesion plates in its foot-pads, the walker can grip onto almost any surface at a molecular level, allowing it to literally walk up a vertical cliff without any other external support. Of course, doing this requires a significant allocation of power, and thus no weapons can be used while the gription pads are engaged. If the walker is damaged during an ascent, even a small disruption of the internal power grid is usually sufficient to deactivate the pads, sending the walker plummeting to the ground below.

In addition to its heavy armor and armament, the AT-TE can function as a troop carrier, having internal space for up to 20 passengers, 40 tons of cargo and even 2 ultralight walkers such as the AT-RT. Notably, the interior of the AT-TE is pressurized and has its own life support system, allowing the walker to function in a wide range of hostile environments, including the vacuum of space.

The AT-TE, while extremely successful during the Clone Wars, was declared obsolete by the Galactic Empire, with most being relegated to secondary roles or unimportant postings. As AT-AT production ramped up, the type was progressively scrapped, although some AT-TEs served even into the closing stages of the Galactic Civil War, seeing action on both sides of the conflict. In the present day, however, the type is vanishingly rare, with few examples seeing active military service. They can be found as museum exhibits, in private collections, or mothballed in forgotten military depots.

LEGALITY
Restricted. The AT-TE is indisputably a military vehicle. Civilian ownership is heavily regulated on most worlds.

INTENT
To bring an iconic vehicle from Canon into our site's fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
AT-TEs are powerful military vehicles, and functional examples are not viable for individual ownership. They maybe be acquired as faction assets with proper staff oversight.
