Description:

The B-Type Grenade, known as the "Bouncing Buzzer", was a strange piece of military weaponry developed by the Coruscanti weapons company OMC Armaments (A front for Galactic Alliance Intelligence), specifically for members of the secret military unit COBALT, though the grenade also later became available on the open market. The grenade consisted of a plasteel shell with a fusion battery made out of durasteel.

The Bouncing Buzzer was nicknamed this because the grenade had four springloaded arms attached to the four sides of the grenade. Driven by the same electricity that was the weapon's effect, the springs repeatedly unfolded, causing the grenade to bounce around on the ground so as to make it hard to toss it back, while the grenade continously unleashed an electric field on anybody in the 5x5 meter perimeter around it.

The electricity, while not strong enough to kill a person, was strong enough to immobilize a wookiee. They became very popular with the COBALT operators, who used them with great success in their operations against Sith.

The grenade's electricity effect was short-lasted, the fusion battery usually burning out after a half minute; the effects of the electricity usually disappated instantaneously on a healthy and physically fit individual, with little to no residual effect or pains. Some species with rubber-like skin, such as Hutts, were known to be able to withstand almost entirely the effects of the B-Type grenade. Similarly, droids, due to their design and fuses existing to protect them from power surges, are unaffected by the Bouncing Buzzer's effect.

Cool concept. Is the electricity like a blanket constantly sheeting out in all directions, or more like a tesla coil with arcs of electricity that strike random places?

Thanks, man. Glad you like it. :D

If it's allowed I'd say like a blanket sheeting out in all directions. I imagined it when I wrote it as literally filling the area of effect with a cloud or blanket of electricity, stunning anybody who is within the 5x5 meters of the grenade.

Ok, so it's like a sustained ion grenade that affects organics. I'll think about that but it leads me to another question, how does this affect droids?

I actually didn't think about how it would affect droids. I would say though, since there are ion grenades for droids, this would be an equivalent for meatbags, and real life science be damned, I would say droids are unaffected by its effect, maybe due to fuses in their machinery to keep them safe from power surges, or something.

Ok. The main problem I have with this is that because it lasts so long, it's pretty much game over from the second you throw it. 15-30 (at most) seconds would still be plenty of time for the thrower to do something in combat. A whole minute of TaserGrenade is closer to "hang on, let me finish this cup of tea before I shoot you".

Understood. So if I lower it to 30 seconds, it would be acceptble? :D
