Location - New Republic Space.

"I have missed the feeling of the wind in my hair, mate." Captain Rav Haskeen remarked as he strode across the bridge of Haskeens Bounty leaving his 'mate' to wonder how the Captain was feeling 'wind' in space. Yet, if the crewmate was confused, he gave no voice to it as the Captain strode to the front of the bridge and rested his hand on his vibro-cutlass as the ship made its way through hyperspace.

"Today, will be sung of for years, no, decades to come my friends, the daring, the courage, the ferocity, and the, the -" he paused, pondering what else to throw into the mix "....daring, we show, will send shivers through the spines of our foes, and we shall reap glorious plunder!" a chorus of 'yars!' rose up to meet him, as he outlined the plan "We shall exit hyperspace at the lane intersection, and there immobilize and board the Bank of Aargau deposit transport, Riches of the Stars, seizing the plunder within, and escaping into hyperspace!"

It was a short plan. Simple, easy to remember.

"Any questions lads?" he asked, as a sea of hands rose. Ignoring them all, he turned back to look into the inky darkness of space "No? Good. Bring us out of hyperspace." light rose to meet them, as they dropped out of hyperspace, a vast transport ship, the Riches of the Stars sat, like vast whale, alone before them.

"Launch the fighters, fire the ion cannon!" he screamed, as three Z-95s launched from his ship, and began to make their way toward the target, a brilliant bolt of ion blast hammering from the Bounty and into to rearward facing engine of the Riches, a GR-75 Medium Transport.

"Keep up the pace boys, we need to immobilise and board before reinforcements scurry to its rescue!" he reminded the crew, and any other pirates with him, as he silently prayed nobody would come to their preys aid.

The thrill of the hunt was all it took the Captain to convince Siggy to join him on an adventure. He had been promised independence, a chance of glory and above all, lots of wealth. He wasn't all too bothered by whatever they might find amongst the stars, as for him, the opportunity to fly alongside Captain Rav Haskeen was simply too good to miss.

Sigtryggr watched as the captain gave a rousing speech to the crew, and as decent of a plan as any he had heard. Well he hadn't heard many before, but of the ones he had heard it rated fairly. With the plan in place and the ship approaching its target, he completed some last minute checks on his equipment.

He thought to his ship in the hangar, there was no need for it to be deployed today he was told, but if something were to go wrong it would be ready to jump into action. Holding his rifle, he awaited with the others near the breaching door for the order to begin. His usual weapons holstered, along with a fusion cutter and micro gun in case things got spicy.

If everything went well, they would be in and out before anyone would notice. If something went wrong, well, he didn't really want to think about that.

Aeron was stuck to Rav like a shadow. The pair had come up out of the muck and mire of the galaxy's worst places and when Rav–er–Cap’n Haskeen had called in his favor, Aeron hadn’t had any choice but to show up. Blood might have been thicker than water, but muck was thicker than blood.

The Hunter was adorned in his panoply of deadly instruments. Aeron’s face was covered by his helm, he had on duraplast pads on his elbow and knees, while his chest was covered in something a little more substantial. Speed and mobility would be priceless in the bloody work they’d been called to do today. His RSFK hung at it’s usual place on his hip and his dual-bladed carbine was clasped on his back not to mention a hand full of knives hidden across his body. Normally, he’d have a bola launcher on his left hand, but he wasn’t planning on taking captives today. So, a personal energy shield had taken it’s place.

The plan was simple hit’em hard, take their shab, and kriff off into the wild empty void of space. It didn’t take a Blackwell tech engineer to know things got hairy when you had a complex plan and a bunch of halfwits to carry it out. A pang of jealousy stabbed into his gut. Aeron could have done this. He could have led morons to their death for money, but then he remembered he wasn’t a leader, he was a killer.

Aeron lacked the charisma required to lead men, flowery words filled with optimism rarely crossed his mind and if they did they weren’t shared. Even now he was greeted with glares and mistrust. That was fine with him. If anyone got jumpy he’d run them through, hell, he’d probably be able to make some money off it. Either way, he waited for the Captain’s order.

Since the thread is open I'm dropping this here to be clear on what Aeron is wearing.

Armor:
Enforcement Armor w/ full helm. The helm is equipped w/ Voice scrambler and Thermal.

His left hand is a durasteel prosthetic with a self-deployable energy shield.

Weapons:
RSFK
SP-C10
Knives x4

Jaikus had been waiting for this day.

Several years had passed since the kidnapping and brutal beating of the ISC president by the crew of Rav Haskeen. Years had passed since Jaikus had stormed their pirate citadel on Kafrene to the man he loved. Emryc had nearly died in the process - and the Axxilan had never - not for a single moment - forgotten the faces of those responsible. Each visage had been burned into his mind's eye - just as the bloodied face of his fiancee had been - and there were few people in the Galaxy that the Axxilan vehemently hated more. This was personal, and the Axxilan had never quite abandoned his hunt.

Intelligence was the Axxilan’s trade, and Jaikus had devoted considerable effort in keeping a constant watch for any members of the pirate crew. Drussk, of course, had received his punishment. Davik had vanished from the face of the Galaxy - likely dead in a ditch somewhere. But Rav? Jaikus knew that Rav was alive. The Feeorin had taken the ransom money and scuttled off into hiding for years, but he knew it was only a matter of time before the pirate captain himself made a resurgence. It was an inevitability - one that the Axxilan ensured he would be prepared for.

Thus, Jaikus couldn’t deny the sadistic gratification that came from viewing the intercepted distress beacon. It was a pirate attack no different from dozens others - except for the description and name of the ship relayed within the message. At once, the Axxilan knew he had found the man he’d been looking for - and he wasted absolutely zero time closing in on his target. Naturally, the Axxilan didn’t travel alone - drawing upon his own security and resources to see the matter through.

The journey through Hyperspace was swift - having already been in the ISC-controlled Core for other matters. There would no warning before a hexad of unmarked vessels dropped out of Hyperspace - appearing on the flank of the Haskeen’s Bounty just as the pirate vessel fired upon the transport ahead of them. Five CT-O Auto-Pursuit Starfighter’s flew in tight formation, medium Ion-cannon already primed and at the ready.

Amidst the formation was Jaikus himself - mounted behind the controls of his personal VT-49 Decimator, the Rogue Specter - a pair of Blackwell droids flanking him within the Cockpit. Jaikus himself was dressed accordingly. The Axxilan was adorned in his Sith armor - the ensemble of cloth and armorweave fitting tightly to his figure, while his features were shrouded behind the wraith-like visage of his mask. The dark hilt of his lightsaber was clipped to his belt, in addition to a vibroblade and pair of thermal detonators. Despite his attire, the Axxilan was not representing the Empire in his current endeavor - and his armor wasn't well-known enough to be recognized by most who caught sight of him. But Rav?

Rav would remember it all too well.

“Move into attack pattern. Target their hyperdrive and engines.” His voice echoed out across the shared comms-channel between himself and the Droid-ships - retaining the smooth and eerily calm quality, despite being distorted and mechanized by the filter in his mask. His intention was clear - he wanted the pirate’s stranded and unable to flee back into hyperspace. He wanted to board and capture his target - and despite appearances, cared exceptionally little for the fate of the Riches.
Upon his command, two of the Starfighter’s darted forward to close in on their target - veering around in order to get onto the back of the Haskeen’s Bounty - while Ion cannons charged and prepared. Jaikus himself continued onto the Bounty’s flank. The duo of starfighter’s had a significant speed advantage over the converted Freighter, and the pirate vessel simply wouldn’t be able to address both Jaikus and the fighters.

The remaining three Starfighters - lingering in tight formation around the Rogue Specter - held their position in the event that the three Z-95s broke off to aid their captain. He doubted it, though, as the Riches would almost certainly use its own turrets to defend itself. Regardless of what the Bounty did, Jaikus pressed his thumb across the weapons controls of his Gunship - firing a single concussion missile from the magazine - arcing through open space in an attempt to slam against the side of the pirate vessel.

Hopping in as opposition for IC reasons. Use of NPCS was pre-discussed with Norbs, but lemme know if y'all have any questions.

Intelligence was also the trade of Hal Mikko, Jedi Shadow. However, intelligence wasn't a word often ascribed to his undercover operations, nor was subtlety. It had been sheer bravado that had kept his flimsy disguises intact in the past; for instance, disguising himself as a professional wrestler on one occasion and as the flamboyant conman Salvador Hardin (unbeknownst to all parties, the latter had been used with Jaikus' own sister Hatice). This time, he'd gone for something a little more subtle, so as to fit in with a pirate crew for confidential reasons. He was Miko Ryder, unassuming pilot and small-time spice runner. He'd figured that appearing "normal" would allow him to evade suspicion.

He'd clearly forgotten he was rolling with Rav Haskeen.

That's why Hal - or Miko, rather - had placed himself in the cockpit of one of the Z-95 Headhunters. His intent was twofold - minimize the amount of illegality he himself, a Jedi, would commit, and secondly to avoid any undue scrutiny his presence might incur otherwise. He'd been holding tight since Rav ordered the ships to launch, awaiting reinforcements or further orders whichever came first. The Headhunter was a familiar enough ship - Incom hadn't changed its design philosophy much in the century since its inception - but he yearned for the tight, modernized confines of his T-75 X-Wing.

Without warning, the Rogue Specter dropped out of hyperspace, launching its fighter complement and shaking Miko out of his reverie. The Jedi deftly yawed the starfighter around to face the newcomers, briefly announcing, "Cap'n, we got bogies inbound." over the comms. Two of the Specter's fighters had deployed and were closing in on the Bounty, as was a concussion missile. Three of the hostile fighters were holding back, awaiting retribution from the motley pirate crew, but Hal's quick analysis of the situation figured that the Bounty wouldn't be able to deal with the two fighters, the missile, and the gunship all at once. He had to choose his target judiciously, and he'd risk the wrath of the other three fighters by engaging, but he didn't have much choice, nor much time. But it was enough time to say this:

"My name's Miko Ryder, and I'm the best kriffin' pilot in the galaxy."

He fired a single blast from the Headhunter's laser cannon. The crimson streak tore through space, racing toward its target until... it hit the concussion missile right in the tube, detonating it moments before the blast could reach the Bounty. It was a one-in-a-million shot for an ordinary pilot, and it would almost certainly raise Jaikus' attention... but Hal was a Jedi.

And the best kriffin' pilot in the galaxy.

Hal's masking his presence in the Force, but Jaikus or any other keen observers can feel free to get suspicious.

Rav had no idea who the new pilot was, but to be fair, he also had no idea what day of the week it was 99 per cent of the time. Banking Haskeens Bounty away from there intended target, Ravs mouth curled into a smile as he recognised the man who had distrupted his mission - at last!

For years he had waited for this moment, a glorious showdown between the Consortiums finest, and he, Captain Haskeen, the best* pirate in the galaxy! "Fighters, intercept the enemy attackers." he commanded with haste, ordering a change in plan, as his ships ion cannon fired mid-bank, missing the Aargau ship entirely, enabling it to blip into hyperspace.

He kept the ship banking, avoiding the incoming ion shot from his new-found foe as well, and began firing a wide spread of shots at his enemy from the Bounties cannons, as the fighters moved in, and the two ships closed their distance, where the real fighting could begin.

Aeron’s glower soured into his patented frown. The arrival of an unexpected enemy seemed to thrill the captain, but Aeron hadn’t been paid to fight Rav’s battles, he’d been hired to raid a banking ship. The distraction caused by the newcomers gave the original target just enough time to wink out of sight.

Kriff…” muttered Aeron as he watched his pay vanish before his eyes. Fury bubbled up in his gut as the thrill of battle began to set in. His tawny eyes fixed on the back of Rav’s head was this payback for Mimban? Was this an elaborate ruse? He wished he could tell himself the captain wasn’t that petty, but he knew Rav was. The way Aeron saw it he had two options. Get to his ship and join the fight, or get to his ship and take off while the enemy and the pirates were occupied with one another.

A small smile contorted his frown, “You know this is triple my regular rate for this right?

If there was even the slightest hint of hesitation at his price Aeron would know what he had to do. It be a shame to abandon one of his last companions in the galaxy… but it was preferable to dying or even worse being noticed by the empire.

A plucky young pilot piped up claiming to be the best kriffn' pilot in the galaxy.

Lucky for us…” grumbled Aeron as he passed by.

The crew, to their credit we’re just as enthused by Haskeen’s call for attack as he was. Aeron wondered if they were loyal or just batshab crazy.

He decided on the latter.

Aeron stepped into his ship and started prepping it for takeoff. With any luck, the ion blasts fired by “The best pilot in the galaxy” would disrupt the enemy enough for him to get into position.

The sudden change in plans was severely disappointing for the aspiring pirate. Combat was always fluid and one could never know what might happen upon contact with the enemy. His disappointment was immeasurable, and the day ruined, as the rich prize managed to slip away under their nose.

Whoever had shown up most of been important to Rav for him to give up easy pickings. The immediate thought of abandoning the hunt all together crossed his mind, Siggy had his own ship in the hangar after all, but the alluring consideration that there was an opportunity to land an even bigger prize, and one with such a personal connection to Rav would certainly result in a showering of rewards.

Holstering his blaster rifle, he made his way toward the ship's hangar, where his preybird "the Owl" was preparing for action. He called ahead to ensure that all the preparations were completed as he ran, picking up the speed.

The ship's computers counted six enemies and one unknown, possible enemy or friend. Siggy's comm piece kept him updated as to how the situation was developing. His own escort starfighter had serious fire-power that could obliterate the puny fighters that were accompanying the larger, more deadly Decimator. The latter would be more of a challenge, but this wasn't planned to be a fair fight.

Upon reaching his ship and entering the cockpit, he hastily completed the final check-list required for the ship to depart from the hangar bay and enter combat. Fortunately, the older, more robust design meant that this wasn't a long-drawn-out process with new fancy technology. The Owl slipped its binds and entered the cold darkness of space once more, as Siggy heated up the weapons systems and prepared to engage the pair of starfighters that were slinking around the back of Haskeens Bounty.

The quad medium lasers of the bounty provided some assistance in this, its fire likely forcing the droid starfighters to bank to avoid being hit. Taking advantage of this, Siggy waited for their movement to drag them outward from the bounty and fired a concussive missile at the closest fighter, which would merge like the letter T against it. The speed of the intercept would leave little time for defensive manuevers and, if successful in striking, cause its significant damage to its shield if not disable the fighter all together. If the fighter got within 500 meters, he would fire the pair of heavy laser cannons once in an attempt to ensure its destruction.

While the Owl was less agile than his more nimble opponents, Siggy did have the luxury of being covered by the bounty, at least in part, and would fly to ensure that he remained nearby to take advantage of this while awaiting further targets of opportunity.

"Hey Theo, we sure we got probable cause here?"

Sighing a little bit as he sat behind the controls of his G1-A Starfighter (called G1APET), Theo looked over his shoulder to his co-pilot and ranger partner. Saren was a decent enough guy but they had been put together because Theo was as by the book as a ranger could get while Saren was the kind of guy to run off like a loose blaster cannon from the old holovids.

Sometimes Theo wondered why Saren hadn't gone vigilante and the response he'd gotten had been concerning to say the least. Something about a Nikto grinning and just telling him not to worry about it...? Really made him worry about it.

"Galactic law empowers any law enforcement or trader in the Galaxy to go to the aid of those in need. Distress calls are sacred in space, Saren."

The Nikto rolled his beady little eyes.

"Sounds dull but alright. We're coming out of hyperspace in three... two... one... back to real space. Alright looks like we have a transport under attack by pirates - this the part where you tell me we need to make the warning shot-HEY watch it!"

Saren growled angrily as he quickly did up his safety harness as Theo immediately began to accelerate to attack speed. The sound of weapons systems powering up to full power caught the Nikto by surprise as Theo seemed to ignore him entirely.

"That's Haskeens Bounty."

"Yeah. So?"

"So? SO?! They kidnapped President Thorne!"

"Look Magna, if you want to white knight for Thorne on the holonet that's on you but don't drag me into it in real life!"

"I shall avenge your dishonour my liege!"

"OKAY! NOW YOU'RE JUST FUCKING WITH ME!"

Regardless, Theo was gunning the engines, coming in from the opposite direction of the Sith ship. Rather than aiming for the engines however, Theo was on a direct course for the ship's cockpit as he gripped the controls tighter as he eeked out the speed the ship could give him in this sudden and unexpected advance.

Jaikus had a singular goal in mind, and there was little that would dissuade the Axxilan from the pursuit. He exhaled a sharp, mechanized breath through his nostrils - watching as the concussive-mission was intercepted and prematurely detonated by the incoming laser bolt from Micko. The Axxilan didn’t know who the fuck Miko was and didn’t care whatsoever. He’d be just another body floating drift if he didn’t get out of Jaikus’ way. “Incoming fighters,” He said with a mechanized clip, his fingers curling tightly around the controls of his own gunship. At once, the three remaining starfighters - those who had lingered in tight formation around the Axxilan - widened their flight pattern and broke off, clearly moving to intercept the pirate vessels.

As Micko had been the first to turn and address the Rogue Spector and its entourage, the Jedi Shadow was closest - and ended up the target of two of said Starfighters. A dual barrage of Ion bolts were launched towards the incoming Z-95 - attempting to strike port and starboard respectively, making it all the more difficult to dodge both. Regardless of the outcome, only one of the starfighter’s would continue pursuing Micko - while the other and third moved in to intercept the two incoming Z-95s.

Then there was Haskeen’s Bounty. While the converted freighter managed to avoid the initial barrage of cannonfire, Rev and his crew would quickly find their enemies incredibly determined in their assault. This was personal for Jaikus and the droids he commanded would follow every order to the letter and without argument.

Two CT-O’s followed close on Haskeen’s Bounty - utilizing their significant speed advantage and smaller size to avoid any incoming cannonfire. While spared from the cannonfire of the Bounty, the emergence of The Owl proved to be the next hurdle for the starfighters. Occupied by avoiding the quad-laser bolts, the closest starfighter was struck dead-center by the concussive missile fired by Sigtryggr - slamming into its hull and chew almost entirely through the medium shields they were equip with. The follow-up volley of heavy laser fire was enough to ensure the destruction of the starfighter - erupting into a plume of flames and scrap metal.

While successful, Sigtyggr wouldn’t go without punishment for his emergence. While the pirate unleashed his payload on one of the Starfighters - both concussive and the follow-up laser-fire, the other CT-O reared around to address the The Owl - leveling its Ion cannon’s onto the starboard side of the fighter. Just as Sigtyggr obliterated his foe, a volley of two Ion bolts streaked through the air - attempting to slam into the pirate’s hull and chew through the electrical systems of his vessel.

Seated behind the controls of the Rogue Specter, Jaikus yanked the controls of his gunship to the left - banking away from the hail of quad-laser bolts that streaked through the air. Moving a hair slower than the freighter, laser bolts sliced dangerously close to the hull of his ship. With accompanying starfighters engaging each other, the Axxilan himself kept harshly onto the Bounty - streaking forward to follow the pirate vessel wherever it sailed. He took advantage of the banking maneuver of the converted freighter - once more pressing down on the weapon controls to this time fire a pair of light laser bolts into the underbelly of the freighter.

Jaikus’ attention, briefly, was drawn to a sudden arrival out of hyperspace. Citrine eyes fixed onto the starfighter flown by Theo - immediately recognizing the Consortium insignia emblazoned on its hull. His lips couldn’t have curled upwards quicker - knowing full-well that the ISC vessel would be all-too-eager to engage with the pirate’s responsible for kidnapping their president.

Oblivious to the apparent ire of his crew, Rav nodded as Aeron slammed up his fees - making a mental note to shunt Aeron out of an airlock if he started asking for more. The arrival of one Theo Magna made Rav even more excited than before, and he quickly gave the order to his fighters to redirect and engage the uppity ranger.

Meanwhile, with the continued approach of two CT-Os to contend with, Rav had his crew keep up the fire from his ship's lighter weapons, continuing to keep the pressure on them both. Ordering the Bounty to fire its ion cannon at Jaikus’ main vessel, Rav accepted the incoming volley of light blaster bolts, confident that his shields could withstand the attack.

”Aeron, prepare for a boarding action. Fighters, bring me that Ranger!” he shouted through the Bounty intercom, praying that his ion shot would find purchase, and they could board Jaikus and bring this vendetta to its conclusion.

Sigtryggr felt exhilaration as the targeting computer confirmed a direct hit with both the concussive missile and follow-up laser barrage melted through the droid star fighter's defences and obliterated it. Unfortunately, the celebration would be short-lived as the warning sounds of incoming fire blared in his ear suddenly, the second droid had managed to sneak within range and was firing ion cannon volley's his way.

Despite his best efforts, the Owl was struck, causing the light deflector shields to almost entirely be diminished, causing yet another emergency alarm to blare. In one swift motion, Siggy banked into the incoming CT-0 with the intent of closing the distance between them, rolling into a partial split-S to try to end up behind it. The CT-0's speed advantage could also be its outdoing, if his plan worked, the droid would overshoot behind him and zoom off.

If it tried to dogfight him, it would likely be able to avoid his own fire, but it would be highly vulnerable to fire from the Bounty.

This going to plan, Siggy would loose another concussive missile and laser barrage with the intent of replicating his earlier success.

The Problem Child dropped out of the Haskeen’s Bounty and into the fray just as Rav’s voice squawked across his comms.

Aeron, prepare for a boarding action. Fighters, bring me that Ranger!

Fighters zipped past as superheated plasma lit up the void of space, The Owl was already in the thick of it. Their attack had stirred the hornet's nest and Aeron wasn't sure how long the single fighter could manage at the disadvantage. Haskeen’s Bounty kept up it’s defensive assault, but it was being hit from two sides. This didn’t look good. Aeron considered plotting his jump to hyperspace, truthfully, the only thing that stopped him was his battle pay.

Fortune favors the bold, right?” he muttered to himself as he angled to intercept the G1-A Starfighter.

Aeron arced his ship in a loop aiming to come up behind the starfighter as it made it’s attack pass across Rav’s nose. Once behind Aeron would fire into his enemy’s engines with both laser cannons. His intent was to cripple, but he wouldn't shed a tear if the ship combusted into a molten slag heap.

Jaikus couldn’t help the way his lips curled into a sinister grin - watching as the barrage of cannonfire slammed into the underbelly of Haskeen’s Bounty. The Axxilan’s vendetta ran deep - fueled by every emotion and passion without his body - and there was a deep sense of satisfaction that came with every bit of battle landed against the enemy vessel. He wasn’t, of course, blind to the ion cannon fired in response. He watched as the bolt streaked forward from the viewport of his gunship, fingers instinctively curling around the controls until his knuckles turned white.

And yet he didn’t veer away from the cannonfire. Instead, Jaikus kept his yellowed eyes harshly fixed onto the Bounty - once again aiming the light laser cannons to unleash another volley of two bolts into the modified freighter. He deliberately made no attempt to dodge the ion bolts and committed himself to taking aim - increasing his confidence and the likelihood that the laser bolts would find purchase.

Regardless of the result, Jaikus pressed back into his seat - feeling the entire gunship rock as the ion bolt found purchase. Energy surged through the systems and immediate set off a series of alarms on the inside of the cockpit, and a quick glance at the console revealed it had cut through almost the entirety of his shields and power. Despite still being operational, the Axxilan immediately cut the thrusters to his vessel and slowed to a halt. “Cut all remaining power from the shields.” He said curtly - his voice sharp as it echoed through the mechanized filter of his mask.

As his command, the droid bodyguard seated beside him did exactly that - lowering the remaining shields and leaving the vessel open to be boarded. He wanted the pirates to believe they had disabled Jaikus’ ship and he was vulnerable to be boarded, while still remaining functional if things took a turn for the worst.

“Man the controls,” He commanded one of the Magnaguard, pushing from the cockpit seat. “Remain alert If they attempt to take another shot at us. Otherwise, prepare for boarding.” Without another word, Jaikus strolled out of the cockpit - arms neatly folded against the small of his back. The Axxilan’s goal was to reach the pirate captain - and they only furthered his own objective by attempting to board. He doubted any of them knew what Jaikus was, or what was waiting for them.

The ongoing battle between the Starfighters, however, was far more chaotic. Streaks of laser fire and ion bolts filled the dark backdrop of space, while comm channels buzz with activity. The Jedi Shadow had been the first member of the pirate crew to be targeted by Jaikus’ escort, and promptly found himself taking more damage than the rest of his allies on short order. While Micko effectively sucked his thumb and blanked behind the controls of his fighter, the combined firepower of two CT-O Starfighters slammed into him. The ion bolts immediately tore through his shield and electrical systems, cutting through his power and causing hos controls to seize in place. The Jedi Shadow was left as little more than a sitting duck in the battlefield - floating lazily through the drift of space. With one target neutralized, two of the three Starfighter’s continued on to address the two remaining Z-95s loyal to Rav. Bolts of ion fire were unleashed - attempting to keep the two vessels occupied and away from the bounty.

The third Starfighter, however, immediately whipped back to address the new arrivals on the battlefield. With Micko addressed and nothing left to contest the CT-O, it began to advance past the other vessels and close in on the rear of The Problem Child. As the larger vessel attempted to close attack Theo, the CT-O aimed its own Ion cannons upon the rear of Aeron’s vessel - unleashing a volley of two bolts. The droid-ship banked on the fact the Pirate was pre occupied, and would continue to trail the Problem Child on its rear regardless of whether the ion bolts landed.

Meanwhile, the last CT-O - the one engaging with Sigtryggr - continued along it course - overshooting its trajectory and zipping right past the hired mercenary. The droid-ship immediately recognized that the Owl had moved onto its rear, and promptly shifted to taking on more defensive patterns. While the speed advantage could be its own undoing, it remained the CT-O’s single largest advantage in this scenario. While the Owl moved into position and unleashed its volley, the starfighter promtly tipped its wing to the left - banking southwest from the incoming fire to dodge. The starfighter banked completely committed to its roll, before attempting to rear back around from the left. While the Owl could continue to pursue the fighter, doing so would take him further way from the Bounty and the ongoing fight. Conversely, leaving the Starfighters unattended would almost certainly come back to bite him - or his allies - in the rear.

Due to the volume of my posts (Controlling both Jaikus and NPCs) I’ve decided to do a TLDR of my post for convenience. Tags are located at the bits relevant to each person.

1. Jaikus fires off two additional laser bolts into the Haskeen’s Bounty, and consequentially allowed himself to be hit by the ion cannon. Damaged but still operation, Jaikus deliberately powers down to feign being disabled - attempting to lure the Bounty into boarding. @Nor'baal

2. Due to an autohit, Micko was hit by the barrage of ion cannons - his Starfighters is thus disabled/KO’d. Two of the CT-O’s continue to engage with the NPC pirate Starfighters. The third reared around and attempts to re-engage with the other pirates. @Ginger @Nor'baal

3. While Aeron attempts to fire at Theo, the CT-O starfighter that had attacked Micko attempts to sail past the Bounty and fire at Aeron from the rear. @Zay @Nefieslab

4. The last remaining CT-O - the one Sigg is attempting to fire upon - banks to the left to avoid the volley of missile/laser fire. It continues to curve left in an attempt to turn back towards the Bounty/Sigg, leaving him with the option of following or not. @Xorism

Theo was in the zone but he would be the first to admit that it was probably a dangerous zone to get into - needing to be almost blind with righteous fury was kind of a bad thing. So he did his best to pull himself under control as he snarled and used the controls of his ship as an extension of his own body. He opened fire on the Z-95s sent his way as they were banking to change their approach vector to him, blasting away with a trio of shots at one of the ships while continuing his charge for the bridge of the Haskeens Bounty.

Saren piped up.

"Enemy arcing round to come up from behind us."
he reported to Theo, "Looks like a Gunship - ST-70 model."

Just as fast as them but not as nimble and slightly worse in terms of armament but he didn't really need that.

"Let me know when they're in firing position."

As he was doing so, Theo accelerated toward the bridge of the Haskeens Bounty - right on target as Saren reported.

"Shots fired - incoming!"

Theo took the warning, staying on target for an almost dangerous amount of time before spinning out of the straight line he had been on to run parallel to the top of the bigger ship. Aeron's blasts would slam into the shields of the Bounty in front of the cockpit as Theo opened fire with his laser cannons as he flew along near the hull of the Bounty, blasting at its fragile solar sails.

Theo blasts at a z-95 as its turning
Dodges Aeron's shots by flying entirely straight before pulling a hard turn, letting the shots hit the cockpit of the bounty
Flies along the "top" of the bounty, blasting the solar sails

Had things started to take a turn for the worse? No! Captain Haskeen pushed such a foolish idea from his mind and cursed himself for having doubted his own prestigious abilities for but a second. He sneered with a cruel satisfaction as his vessels ion bolts found purchase on Jaikus' vessel, bringing his target to a juddering halt in the inky darkness of space. "Hold fire on the main target, close distance and deploy the boarding tubes." he shouted across the bridge, his right hand twitching on the butt of his pistol as if itching for a fight.

"Sigtryggr, keep those fighters busy. Aeron and I have business to attend to." the Captain made his final order to the fighters known ran out of the bridge as the boarding tubes connected. Strategically, it made absolutely no sense at all to wander onto an enemy ship, totally unaware of what was held within its depths.

But to hell with strategy, Captain Haskeen was a pirate and he intended to live like one.

Fortunately, he left the bridge just as Theo Magna made his attack run. The shields held, preventing the bridge itself from going up in smoke, however, the solar sails were not so lucky. They found themselves riddles with large holes in an instant, not that Haskeen noticed - he was to busy parading down to the boarding tube!

"Aeron, get yourself over to that ship!" he shouted, drawing his sword and pistol, and barrelling down the boarding tube and into his enemy's lair.

Rav boards Jaikus ship.
Solar sails are down thanks to Theo!

Sigtryggr cursed as his foe slipped between his fingers. He listened as Rav went on about keeping the enemy drone fighters to task and his face twisted like a pretzel, didn't the bloody loon realise the difficulty of such a task? Siggy was flying a bloated whale through space compared to the agile drone star fighters!

He cautiously unclipped the safety that prevented an accidental activation of a hyperdrive during combat just in case things got spicy, but for the moment he would continue after the last CT-O in a desperate attempt to even the odds. Knowing that there was little chance that he could follow and turn within its tighter turning circle, Siggy decided to pull up on the control stick and climb vertically above the current plane that it was orbiting, in order to then roll over and dive back down towards the bounty and with luck, his target.

The one thing about droid starfighters was that they were quick, but also somewhat predictable if you could figure out their patterns. Siggy hadn't quite yet done so, but he banked on the fact that it had only attacked him due to his offensive action and instead, its real target was instead the bounty. If the Owl wasn't actively chasing it, he reasoned that it would return to its previous orders and accidentally allow the Deucalian to dive back down behind it. Or at least that was the theory.

If he was right, Siggy would open fire once more with a missile and lasers in order to destroy the CT-O that would be circling back towards the bounty. He would then attempt to avoid both any incoming fire or ramming into the bounty/ G1-A Starfighter (@Nefieslab) in case things got too close, flying lengthways back the way the G1-A had come.

If the CT-O was not there when he dove from above the bounty, he would instead attempt to lock up the G1-A Starfighter (@Nefieslab) that was coming in his direction over the bounty, opening fire with both heavy lasers and a concussive missile once it had cleared the line of sight for the larger ship to avoid hitting a friendly.

@Nor'baal @Altaris @Zay @Nefieslab @Ginger

Attempting to gain height advantage to attack droid fighter from above while it circles.
If successful, Siggy fires on droid with guns/missile and tries to avoid Theo
If fails, Siggy fires on Theo with guns/missile

This bastard was slippery. His laser fire missed it’s mark. Just before the collision, the nimble starfighter peeled off, running parallel to the larger ship. Aeron doubled down on his pursuit of the G1-A, redirecting his heading and bringing the starfighter's engines into view. Aeron hissed as he forced himself to be patient.

The Problem Child fell in behind the starfighters as they tore down the hull of the Bounty. They opened fire and the solar sail’s ruptured in a miasmic conflagration. Aeron kissed his teeth in annoyance. With the sails gone there wasn’t much his enemy could hide behind. Aeron took two shots aimed at the starfighter's engines. He’d track his shot along the path of his target, but if they drifted back toward the bounty he’d cease-fire.

As that was happening Haskeen’s voice squawked across his coms. Aeron kissed his teeth again…It didn’t make sense to call him back. Leaving his target would put them at a disadvantage… but if something happened to Rav, he could kiss his paycheck goodbye. Reluctantly, Aeron peeled off from his attack pattern on the G1-A and began to circle around to rendezvous with Rav.

Solar sails destroyed? One of the advantages this ship had in the wider galaxy was immediately knocked out of commission and Theo had a chance to ensure much more than that happened. If, of course, Saren wasn't going to complain about him going as far as he was to defend President Thorne's honour!

"Theo we've got that same one on our ass and one up front might be a problem as well."

Thankfully Saren was a premier wingman.

As he was gunning the engines as he flew across the length of the Bounty, Theo let out a breath and instead immediately pulled hard on the brakes at the same time as throwing his controls to the right as he did so. Saren and Theo both were ragdolled by the sudden deceleration and the rapid spin, throwing them back into their seats and then far to one side.

Due to the sudden deceleration, Aeron's shots were for leading a target that needed much less of a lead. Still, even with the drastic move, only one of the shots missed entirely, the second clipped the left wing rather than the engine. The shield flared a brief, violent, cascade of blues and purples, before it settled down.

"Shields took the hit - rear deflector shields are going to need time to recharge back up to full. What are we spinning for again?!"

They were spinning, not only to potentially avoid the missile and blaster fire from Sigtryggr by continuing to, essentially, spin their way around the width of the Bounty to come up underneath it, but also because...

"Because we're underneath it now."

With the fighter coming out of its drastic series of rolls, it was all Theo could do to shoot straight but, thankfully, the hull of the Bounty was 'above' him so it was easy to hammer it with four laser shots before rocketing out from underneath the Bounty, coming out underneath where Sigtryggr had been when he'd been avoiding Theo/shooting at him. If the fighter was still there, theo would blast a duo of lasers at its underside - if it was not, he would begin to give chance instead.

"Read them their rights, Saren."

Saren rolled his eyes and began broadcasting on all frequencies.

"This is the ISC Rangers. Power down all weapons and engines systems or lethal force will be authorised."

Spinning - its a neat trick - to the right at the same time as slamming on the breaks
One of Aeron's shots overshoots, the other takes a big chunk out of rear deflector shields
Theo continues spinning to his right, rolling around the side/width of the Bounty to avoid Sigtryggr's Shrodringer's Shots and Missiles or to avoid collision
Strafes the bottom of the Bounty
Comes out the rear of the Bounty from its underside, blasts at Sigtryggr if he's still there, otherwise pursues
Saren asks for surrender

It didn’t take long for the Haskeen’s Bounty to begin boarding procedures - and Jaikus made no attempt to suppress the grin that spread wide across his lips. His goal from the very beginning had been to reach Rav above all else - regardless of who got in the way. The Axxilan had no doubt the Pirate Captain - overconfident and self consumed - was leading the charge, waltzing right into the Axxilan’s waiting clutches. So be it.

While the pirates barreled through the docking tube, Jaikus prepared himself. The hilt of his crimson saber - a weapon he hadn’t wielded in some time - snapped into his left hand. A vibroblade and a few thermal detonators were additionally clipped to his belt, though he didn’t reach for either weapon quite yet. Rav would find no resistance once he reached the blast doors leading into Jaikus’ ship. Instead, the doors hissed right open to greet him - revealing the slender, armored figure that stood behind them.

The featureless, wraith-like visage of Jaikus’ mask stared right back at the Feeorin Pirate - taking in every little expression on his face, regardless of what emotions coursed through the pirate captain. He watched, as the crimson blade of his lightsaber finally sprang to life with a snap-hiss.

Only then did Jaikus begin his march forward - slow, calm steps that began to close the distance between himself and Rav. Wordlessly, the Force coiled around one of the Twi’lek crew member that stood beside Rav - iron talons that immediately compressed the man’s chest. With a vicious flick of his arm, Jaikus sent the man to roughly slam against the docking tube wall. A sickening crunch echoed as his face slammed against the durasteel surface, neck compressing backwards from the force of the impact. Blood from the man’s bludgeoned face streaked down the walls, just as his body slumped limply at its base.

And Jaikus kept walking forward. One step at a time.

---

Meanwhile, the battle in space proved to be just as chaotic as expected. While Jaikus had left the controls of his gunship, his standing orders to engage with the enemy vessels still stood - and the droid-brained ships were sophisticated enough to follow through without his immediate guidance. The two CT-O’s sent to engage Rav’s remaining Starfighters whirled forth, unleashing their payload of Ion blasts into the pirate vessels. As neither Starfighters attempted to move evasively in response, both strikes found their mark - tearing through the shields and electrical systems of each vessel, leaving them to idly drift through space.

Of course, their victory did not come without drawbacks. Their forward assault opened them up to fire from the Haskeen’s Bounty - slamming into their rear deflector shields harshly. Fortunately, the light cannonfire wasn't enough to destroy the vessels outright - though it took large chunks out of their shields.

The CT-O pursuing Aeron, however, found significantly more success. While the Problem Child blindly pursuing Theo, the droid-controlled Starfighter unleashed its payload into Aeron’s rear - medium ion blasts streaking mercilessly through the air. With no evasion action taken by Aeron, both shots easily found their mark - cutting right through his shields and electrical systems. The medium ion cannons were more than capable of cutting through his shields with the first blow, and the second proceeded to render his electrical systems completely defunct. Just as Aeron began to circle back towards Rav, the pirate would find himself listlessly floating through space, unable to engage further.

Sigtryggr was significantly more attentive to his opponent - and it reflected in the actions that the hired muscle took in response. As the pilot of The Owl rose above the battlefield, the CT-O continued on its trajectory - rearing around to begin closing in on the Bounty. As a result, the Starfighter only had limited reaction to the incoming fire from Sigtryggr. The first attack - the heavy laser bolt - was enough to chew entirely through the CT-O’s medium shields. The starfighter continued its forward momentum in response, however, utilizing its superior speed to dart forward and just narrowly avoid the slower-moving concussive missile. While the Starfighter wasn’t out of the fight yet, it was abundantly clear that enough shot from the pirate would easily do the trick.

Once again doing a TLDR of what happened in this post. 'Cause it's rather large.

1. Jaikus comes down to greet Rav - emerging on the other side of the docking tube as the pirate captain. He immediately dispatches one of Rav's crewmembers by bludgeoning them against the wall with the Force.

2. The two remaining Z-95s commanded by Rav have been disabled by the CT-O's due to no evasive action to prior attacks. The CT-O's however have taken heavy damage to their shields, as a result of continued fire from the Bounty. Another hit will be enough to down them.

3. Due to an Autohit, the CT-O pursuing Aeron was able to land both Medium Ion blasts - disabling The Problem Child and leaving the pirate drifting through the battlefield with no power.

4. Sigtryggr's manages to hit the last remaining CT-O with his heavy laser - effectively cutting completely through its shields - while the concussive mission misses just narrowly. The starfighter has sustained heavy damage and likely will go down with another hit.
