DESCRIPTION​

The Bantha-class cargo skiff is an open-air utility repulsorcraft manufactured by Ubrikkian Industries. One of the more basic atmospheric skiff designs available, the Bantha is optimized to carry a large volume of passengers or cargo, and to be operated by unskilled pilots.

The Bantha is a simple craft, not much more than an open-air platform with some guardrails, a control console for the pilot, a simple drive unit and a pair of outrigger steering vanes. The craft is capable of a decent top speed, 250 kph, although maneuverability is only average. The vehicle can carry up to 35 tons of cargo, and/or 16 passengers, with only a single crewbeing required to fly it. Of note, the Bantha comes standard with an extendable plank, intended to act as a gangway for the loading and offloading of passengers and cargo, although certain operators have found other uses for it.

The Bantha is generally used to transport freight over short to intermediate distances, often from a starport to a settlement's warehouse district, although it has found alternative uses, notably as a basic pleasure craft and sightseeing platform for outdoor events, among many others. It is used by almost all professions and walks of life for one purpose or other.
