DESCRIPTION
A beskad was a traditional Mandalorian sabre, primarily forged from beskar. Comprised of a single-edged blade with a leather-bound hilt, the beskad was weighty and incredibly resilient, capable of delivering powerful blows with each swing. Designed to batter down an enemy's defences, beskade were favoured weapons of the ancient Mandalorian warriors, though the use of the iron blade spanned millennia.

Due to the weight and overall shape of a beskad, wielding the Mandalorian sabre traditionally required a single-handed grip. Those unfamiliar with the weapon were known to compare the beskad to an agricultural or undergrowth clearing tool, such as a machete. Accordingly, a beskad were often used to batter through enemies' defences by using the heftiness of the blade to overcome an opponent.

The traditional Mandalorian style of fighting with a beskad capitalized on the full body protection offered by a warrior's armour to move in close to an enemy without fear of injury, often inside their reach in order to deprive them of maneuverability or the ability to parry, and subsequently hammer away at them. A heavy swing from a beskad was capable of embedding the blade in both armour and bone, and a Cortosis weave-forged sabre was even capable of stopping a lightsaber.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Beskads were a traditional Mandalorian weapon; their ownership was often legal, although open carry on civilized worlds was typically restricted. However, Mandalorians hold the weapon in almost sacred regard, same as their Beskar'gam, since it was traditionally made from beskar, the alloy only found in their home system. Non-Mandalorian owners are likely to be grilled as to how they acquired the weapon if spotted by a Mandalorian; those unsatisfied with the answers are likely to try and reclaim the weapon by any means.

INTENT
To provide my Mandalorian with some traditional Mandalorian stabbers. Essentially a reskinned vibroblade.
