Bestine Baseline
Bestine Mission Pack

x

Situated on the Corellian Trade Spine, Bestine IV has served for generations as a tropical vacation stop and a key center of ship repair and maintenance in the Inner Rim. Decades ago it had been the site of three major battles during the Hundred Year Darkness.

It was during the final battle that the world fell to the Exile for a time. When the Republic withdrew from the war, Bestine having been devastated repeatedly was for a time was out of the program.

Only after the planetary community picked themselves up and started making profit that the senate finally began notice. Since then, Bestine has recovered for the most part, however there are scars from the war visible and hidden that continue to fester...

A small but extreme movement called the Bestine Liberation Front(BLF) has for a longtime called for the world to secede from what they see as an uncaring and corrupt Republic. At first the group were treated as no more than an annoying nuisance by the authorities. Six years ago they proceeded to stage terrorist attacks against government and civilian targets. These ‘incidents’ are mounting and threatening to destroy the stability of Bestine if left unchecked.

The planet has requested assistance in dismantling the BLF. In return the government would be willing to host a series of bases for the Grand Army. Also the ship companies are open to negotiation for the Republic to use their undersea shipyards. A combination of decisive military force and diplomacy will be essential to success of this undertaking...

It’s a Trap!

Information has been ‘leaked’ to the BLF that the Bestine planetary government is hosting a secret summit with the Republic officials at a remote island resort. In reality it is a bait set by the Grand Army, to trap the majority of the terrorists into an well placed ambush.

GAR operatives supported by local security force are to lure in the enemy in, projecting a ‘desperate defense’. Once that happens the rest of the Republic troops held in reserve will counter-attack. The main objective is to eliminate or capture as many of the insurgents as possible along with their equipment. (Completed)

The Man and the Fish.

Securing Bestine’s underwater shipyards would be a major boost to the Republic’s military preparations. Ionis Seaworth, the owner of the planet’s largest shipping company is the key. Mr. Seaworth however is known to be very ‘eccentric’.

He usually conducts business aboard his privately owned submarine as its captain with a small crew of droids, hunting large fish. Often they happen to be dangerous predators... Seaworth has invited a small party of Republic senators to join him in his latest hunt around the treacherous Agenor Trench to ‘test character’ as he would call it.

Making a good impression to Seaworth during this voyage is highly recommend for the mission’s success.

Operation Sea Serpent

The Grand Army has learned the location of the Bestine Liberation Front’s base. It is a underwater fortress called Trident’s Point that was built and utilized by the Republic during the last war before being abandoned. Located in the heart of a massive sea canyon, the base is heavily fortified and garrisoned by murderous zealots.

Using a secret tunnel a sabotage team lead by a Republic operative will infiltrate the base through the weak points. Once inside the team will focus disabling the base’s defenses while a strike force led by Grand Army elements will launch a full scale assault to help capture the facility.

If the base can’t be taken then it must be destroyed by targeting its main generator.

To complete these missions, you can either look for a DM or self-DM using the dice feature. First come, first serve. These missions are crucial to the Republic's war effort, hence why a strict 48 hours posting time limit will be in order.

Failure to post within that time limit could affect your ability to select the mission of your choosing in the future.

This is good. @Fyremage and @Nefieslab you’re both set to start your mission when ready. You guys can dicuss with one another whether or not you both want a third party to DM or you both just want to Self DM with dice.

Very well Norb your senator can be part of the Man and the Fish mission. To everyone else there is still room available in Operation Sea Serpent mission.
