Star-Wars-The-Rise-of-Skywalker-Exegol.jpg

A pair of TIE Hunter's hung out in deep space, all around them was darkness not a planet, a star or an asteroid to be seen. They were far from mapped systems or star lanes, they were truly in the unknown. The lead was piloted by Artorigas Wessex, his apprentice Malou was situated in the later, their Navi computers were linked allowing the Acolyte to do little to no work in keeping up with the Marauder. Artorigas' own Navi Computer was adapted however, in the middle of his console atop the main screen sat a singular black pyramid, The Force had guided him to it, first to Jakku then to Ajan Kloss and finally to Ahch-To where he had pulled it from the remains of a destroyed old X-Wing.

At first it was locked to him, a shield of Light Side energy had originally kept him from its true purpose but that was removed with the help of the Dathmorian Witch. Now he knew what it was, The Force had shown him the way to more power, more prestige and more freedom. For this singular object would lead him to the treasure trove that was Exegol the hidden redoubt of The Sith.

"We have one more jump Malou, are you ready?" He asked over the comms, he would have preferred they travelled in the new model TIE's he had requested from Sienar Systems themselves but they were still under construction so a TIE Hunter would have to do. "Once we arrive upon the surface I do not know what to expect. Though I would prepare your vision as this will be as dark and as grim as Korriban if not worse."

Learning to pilot a ship was a top contender for the most terrifying things Malou had ever done. Until she begun her training as a Sith, Malou never had a reason to fly. There were people for that, as her father liked to say. That and she wasn't sure if flying would even be possible for her with her vision. She could see in a way others could not and in a degree not possible for them, but it was still limited. To prevent what she might call a sensory overload, she usually confined her vision to however big whatever room was she in happened to be. But out here in space, amongst millions upon billions of kilometers of absolute nothing, she didn't have to worry about that overload sensation.

Thus, Malou was able to operate her TIE hunter with no hinderance of sight. Instead, most of her energy was spent paying close attention to her master's TIE hunter and keeping a tab on her ship's computer system. While piloting one of these ships was a new experience, she knew a bit about the computer systems from her books and data libraries. So when Artorgias asked, "We have one more jump Malou, are you ready?", she was.

"Yes, sir. I'm ready when you are." Malou released the comms button and listened to the following message. Prepare my vision? Malou chuckled at the reference to sight. Darkness would not be a problem for her. As long as the Force was present to allow her to see how it shaped everything around her, she would be just fine.

Malou prepped her hyperdrive, ready to follow Artorgias as soon as he made the jump

Artorigas nodded at his apprentice's comment though for who's sake he was unsure. He sat within the confines of the TIE, dressed in his personal armour, for what was lying in wait for them upon the Sith World he could not be sure and anything that was there needed to be dealt with one way or another. The helmet sat to one side, giving him a little more room to move around in the cockpit as he pressed activated the hyperdive.

The blue lights disappeared and before them both the dark desert planet appeared, the sun glowed off to the right of the pair giving some light to the surface below. As his eyes took in the view his body, heart and soul were washed over with waves of Dark Side energy. "Well this is interesting." Darth Andros said from inside Artorigas' mind. The Ancient Sith Lord has been quiet over the past few weeks, something about his time with Darth Andruil had kept the possessing creature at bay. But now with the power of the Dark Side flowing over him the Sith had revelled himself again.

"You have out down yourself Art my boy, I never would have expected you to come here. Your apparent pure heart seems a little tainted." "Well you may have had something to do with that." He replied, the voice continued to chatter on as they closed on the planet. Artorigas would have to deal with the ancient Sith Lord soon otherwise he may just go crazy one day. The Wayfinder before him lead down to a specific point upon the planet. "Malou, follow me in, it seems this is not our final destination."

With that he took the controls of the TIE Hunter and began the descent into the thin atmosphere of the planet. Storms rocked the outer atmosphere making it a bumpy ride down but he was able to push through, years of flying on Serenno had prepared him for this kind of flying. He just hoped his apprentice was up to it.

Malou was not a big fan of hyperspace. It was long, boring, and she couldn't see the brilliant blues without opening her eyes. Thankfully this jump wasn't all that long and soon enough they dropped out of hyperspace and the planet started to form in her vision. She could both sense and see the shadowy aura of the Force radiating off the celestial body. It really was unlike anything she'd ever felt--or seen--before.

She made sure to keep her TIE hunter close to her master's as they descended into the stormy atmosphere. The thick layer of clouds appeared as a sort of static fog to her, but her master's TIE hunter was still easy enough to spot as long as she remained close by. Flying through the rough atmosphere was taking all her concentration.

They broke through the cloud, revealing the dark desert below, all around them was carnage, what appeared to be a thousand ships littered the surface of the planet, most appeared to be Star Destroyers of some kind though smaller ships were often dotted amongst the wreckage. The salvage available on this planet was worth a fortune, something that Artorigas had not expected when he learned of the Wayfinders final destination, but it was a welcome benefit.

The Wayfinder pulled them North and a quick look out the window gave Artorigas all the information they needed for their destination. "What power, this truly is a well of the Dark Side." It sounded as if Andros was licking his lips inside of Artorigas' head, so excited he was about their destination. "Malou, can you see it. That is our destination." Though his apprentice was physically blind he knew the power of her Force Sight by now was pretty much as good if not better, yes she saw no colour but with that she could see details Artorigas could never make out.

The awe inspiring Citadel rose up before them as they approached, the damaged and destroyed ships began to slowly thin out until none surrounded the citadel by a mile. Artorigas landed the craft near what appeared to be the entrance, exiting the ship as his Apprentice also landed. Awaiting her arrival he pulled his saber from his belt, for even in this immense field of darkness he could feel they were not alone. "Prepare yourself Malou." He said before turning and beginning to walk into the citadel.

The old battle field on the planet's surface came as a shock to Malou. She had no idea of its existence until they passed through the last of the cloudy skies and the massive graveyard appeared in her mind's eye. There were thousands of them. They were big, small, tiny, and giant; there were ships she knew the names of and ships she didn't recognize. Sand had eroded the paint on many of them, riding them of any identifying faction markers she might know. It certainly suited the grim atmosphere here.

"I can," replied Malou a few moments after Artorgias' voice came through on the comm. She was in awe of the Citadel as they approached, impressed by the massiveness of the geometric structure. It lacked many details, but its brutalist architecture fit the atmosphere. The dark side of the Force radiated strongly from it, even more so than the ground beneath their TIE hunters. It made her... well, she didn't have a word for the emotion.

Malou carefully landed her ship next to her master's, stepping out of the vehicle and landing on the sandy ground. The strong winds here whipped her robes around her, but the sound of it was dulled by the wind. Like Artorgias she unclipped her lightsaber, but ran her fingers along it as she did so. She felt a shiver of power every time she touched it, and it filled her with excitement. Because she had such an awareness of her environment, she had opted for saber that could be split into two. Plus, it was cool.

"What do you expect will be inside?"

He kept the saber unlit, for he did not want to fully give away his deadly potential to those that stalked the pair. He kept head forward though his eyes scanned the area before them as he replied to his apprentice. "I do not know, though it allies with the Dark Side that is for sure." It was undeniable the amount of Dark Side energy present upon this planet and it all seemed to stem from this singular citadel.

They reached the entrance a giant doorway made of stone, no door stood to be closed so with gritted teeth Artorigas passed through the entrance way. For some reason he expected something to happen as soon as he did but he was fortunately disappointed as nothing seemed to happen. The hallways were dark, black marble on black stone, though it all seemed to be eerily lighten by hidden lights. It definitely fit the evil tone that most Sith monuments seemed to have.

Though it appeared to be a giant maze, a structure built to house hundreds if not thousands, the Dark Side seemed to pull the pair towards its centre. As they Artorigas could feel the eyes upon them coming ever closer, finally when turning a corner he was met with a beast. The Dark Side flowed from the creature like a river, its large clubbed hand swinging for Artorigas' head, a scream signalled at least another pair behind them and Artorigas could see more ahead.

Malou felt the wave of darkness crash over her as she and her master passed through the entrance way. A chill ran down her spine, and she gripped the hilt of her lightsaber a little harder. She was nervous to say the least, but the concentration of the Force allowed her to see everything around her. It eased her anxiety.

The teen followed Artorgias closely as they made their way through the structure, keeping her eye on the area surrounding them. She noticed the presence of some creatures behind them as they neared an upcoming corner, so the girl spun around to face them. Just as she spun, another creature appeared from around the corner, swinging a grotesque nub of an arm at her master. Shit.

Malou unclipped one of her lightsabers, slid her finger over the button, and listened to the sound of the saber buzz to life. Her free hand reached backwards out toward the beast assailing her master, catching its clubbed hand and holding it in place so it would not make contact with Artorgias' head. She could see it struggling against her grasp, as well as the other two who began to charge forward towards her. Shit.

"I've got these two." Malou would release the beast from her hold after several moments (long enough for her master to react, she hoped) and advanced towards the two beasts behind them. They had wide upper bodies and club-like appendages, but their upper arms were thinner compared to the rest of them. Malou outreached her free hand and used the abundance of Force around one of the creatures to push back on him and cause him to stagger. She then took the opportunity to race toward him, swinging her blade first in an upward strike across his upper arm, and then a downwards strike across his other one. The appendances fell to the ground, but she had no time to react as the other beast swung its arm towards her.

He was already moving, The Force condensed inside his body allowing the usually heavy armour to feel weightless to him. His blade was igniting and he had stepped to one side when his Apprentice reached out through The Force to stop the coming blow, though it was unneeded it was appreciated. With an upwards slash he removed the creatures arm at the elbow before bringing the blade back down to slice the beast from shoulder to hip.

He heard is apprentice shout about those behind, he gave her the respect she deserved and left her to handle the creatures as he dealt with those advancing. Another pair of club handed monsters, pulling The Force into his hand he sent out a wave of pressure, sending the falling chunks of the first creature hurtling into the onrushing assailants. The weight of the dead mass knocked the first one to the ground but the latter pushed through and charged onwards.

He was at full gallop, his mass was easily the same as Artorigas' with the added weight of the amour, so if he connected no matter if the Sith gutted him he would knock him clean over. Stepping to the side Artorigas let out a bolt of pure force energy aimed at the legs of the charging creature, the wave was enough to trip the beast, who collapsed onto his outstretched blade cleaving him in to. That left one and whatever Malou still had to deal with.

The arm of the beast barely missed her and she felt the motion of the swing as it passed not an inch over her head. Malou leapt out of the way of the beast's body as it followed forward with its attack, allowing her to strike at its backside. She readjusted her grip on her saber and with two hands struck at its left leg, cutting clean through the limb and causing the beast to fall. As it crashed to the ground, she repeated the same strike at its neck, this time removing the head in one fell swoop. She quickly checked her surroundings for anymore who may target her, and seeing no more, took the opportunity to stab the armless beast from before through the head. Both were dealt with on her end.

Pulling The Force within his body, Artorigas leapt up, the corridors of the Citadel were unnaturally high and wide as if built for giants not men. The weight of gravity, Artorigas and his armour smashed into the back of the slowly rising final beast. It let out an exasperated cry as the air was pushed from his lungs, ribs cracking under his weight. With a quick slash he brought the blade down removing its head from its shoulders.

Artorigas turned to look at his apprentice who had dealt with her two combatants with ease and grace. "Well done Malou." He said disengaging his lightsaber but still keeping the hilt in his hand. "We should keep moving, I have no doubt that these are not the last of the creatures calling this place home." With that he turned away from the blood bath, if he got what he intended he would need to assemble something more than the small amount of droids he had at the Wessex estate to help him control both the citadel and this planet.

The giant sized corridors continued to weave themselves back and forth before finally opening into a large chamber, on all sides statues of ancient Sith were combined with laboratory equipment long since left to the decays of time. Though the equipment seemed much newer than the rest of the surrounding architecture, turning to Malou he pointed off in one direction. "Have a look around see if there is anything of interest here."

"Well done Malou." She felt a surge of pride in her chest as he said that to her. It lasted only a moment--they continued moving on quickly--but it was a welcomed feeling. It was something she didn't get to experience very often. She stayed quiet the rest of the way, still keeping a careful eye on their surroundings as they made their way into what seemed to be a chamber of sorts. There were many statues--some in better shape than others.

"Have a look around see if there is anything of interest here."

Malou nodded and began to search the area. There was laboratory equipment strewn all over the place. Most of what she passed over was unrecognizable or obviously useless. What even is this place? It was a Sith building, on a remote planet she'd never heard of, filled with grotesque monsters and so, so much Dark Side energy. Are these statues of Sith Lords? They were all expertly made. Even the ones that had lot some of their features to time seemed to have only lost what had corroded with open air. Not everything was old, however.

After just looking around for a few minutes, Malou decided to move forth into the chamber and straight toward what seemed to be a console of sorts. She approached it, then after searching for an 'on' button, pressed it and waited for the system to chug to life. Its screens illuminated with a pale light. It was not recent technology, but it was not ancient either. Most strangely, there was no passcode required to access the system. That was a welcome sight.

"Master, over here." Malou could read digital displays through her Force Sight but differentiating between the shades, but it was much, much easier to simply lift her blindfold and view it closely with her own eyes. Seeing color made a big difference when trying to read digital displays. It seemed she had discovered a database of sorts, and she was sure that Artorgias would want to see it.

After he made his way over, she would explain, "It seems to be a database of sorts. I don't recognize some of these names, but you might." She would then readjust her blindfold and step back so he could take a look.

If he was honest he had left Malou to check the room so he could keep better attention on the surrounding area. There was still movement in the Citadel, though how far away, how many and if they were coming or going he was not sure. It was unnerving for sure, they were only two and their foe was many. They would need to be smart and use all the power The Force gave them to survive whatever was to come here on this planet.

He had done little searching himself when Malou called him over, she was surrounded by a pale blue light, a console? Walking up behind her he watched as the screen filled with Ur-Kittat, Malou had replaced her blindfold she had attempted to read some of it though he doubted she would have deciphered much. "Its mostly in Ur-Kittat, the ancient language of the Sith." He said scrolling through a few of the articles. "Your Welcome." Yes he had learned much of the Sith language from Lord Andros' writings and the tutor ledge of the Sith inside his head. Though if they were both honest he only had taught him so as to not sit and watch him struggle trying to read Andros' own works.

"I recognise that one." Andros said as he scrolled over an article referring to a Darth Andeddu. "She was alive during my time, a vicious little one a strong warrior for sure." Artorigas did not reply to the Sith, he was only able to seemingly communicate verbally and he had yet to explain the situation to his apprentice so the last thing he needed now was to start talking to himself. "This is good Malou, we will need to come back and download this if we have the time. For now lets move on. More of those beasts are on the move."

Malou waited patiently while her master scrolled through the database, though she was very curious as to what it contained. The language barrier would explain why she wasn't able to recognize the names of the folders and such. In fact, she had not even heard of Ur-Kittat. If she could find any information on it, she would have to look into that at a later date. Especially if we're going to stumble across it multiple times in this place. She was not a fan of not understanding things.

She was very glad to hear, however, that the console had been a good discovery. But her master was right, more of those beasts were on the move. If she concentrated and looked beyond the walls of the hall they were in, she could see the heavily-Force-defined figures of the beasts lumbering their way toward them. It sent a shiver own her spine. They moved as if they knew exactly where she and Artorgias stood. Even as Sith, in a place like this, they might stand out against the Dark.

As they moved on, a thought came to Malou. Who else knows of this place? She wasn't sure if she knew her master well enough to know whether or not he would have or would want the location of this structure revealed to other members of the Sith. If her assumption was correct, it seemed that the Sith often competed with each other. He might not want other Sith knowing of this place... quite yet, if at all. While Malou had no intention of babbling of her and her master's travels to anyone else (if she learned anything from her upbringing, it was that those with power sought to upstand others with power), she might as well ask.

"Master, who all knows of this place?"

Artorigas' search for the Wayfinder and his subsequent depatrure of Sith space had been an almost solo affair. Yes he had met another Sith back on Jakku but nothing had been found there and it was more of I don't kill you, you don't kill me kind of deal. The only one who would have some knowledge of there whereabouts would be Zara. "Our exact location, just me and you for the moment. There was one other who helped me break the seal on the Wayfinder though I doubt she knows where it led us to. Of and of course Cydric." Cyrdic Artorigas' manservant was privy to pretty much everything the Sith Noble did. Artorigas had also left instructions with the man encase of his and Malou's death on this search.

Although that was the answer to her exact question he knew what she probably wanted to ask. 'What was there plan with the whereabouts of this planet', well that all depended on what else they found here. If it was just the database he would just download its information and delete it before letting it disappear into obscurity if there was more it would depend.

The corridors continued to widen as they were seemingly reaching the centre of the Citadel the beating heart of The Force was getting louder and louder as they were reaching the Nexus' epicentre. But before they could reach it they would have to deal with more these creatures.

Artorigas had to duck as a large piece of steel flew past his head, a hulking creature flinging it at him with impressive speed. At least half a dozen were now converging on the pair from all sides, though he could hear more coming in the distance. "We keep moving forward you cover the rear." He said to Malou has he re-ignited his blade and began walking.

It seemed then that it was only her and her master who knew the location of this massive structure. It made her feel special, to know she was one of two people who knew the whereabouts of this place. One of three.... Cyrdic probably knows, too. Malou knew little of Artorgias' manservant. She could count on one hand the number of conversations they'd had, passing each other in the hall of Castle Wessex. Regardless, it was cool.

Malou did not ask any more questions of her master as they continued their way through the facility. The Force was much thicker here, so much so that Malou could not see through the walls to gaze upon what lied on the other side of them. They too were highlighted within the Force, even though they were insignificant.

It was for that very reason that Malou was taken by surprise by more of the beasts. Her curiosity with the density of the Force here had lowered her guard. Shit. She quickly lowered her head as a piece of steel flew by. The red of her lightsaber ignited alongside her master's as she prepared to fight these beasts. Cover the rear? She could do that.

Malou continued to walk forward, but her attention was on the beasts approaching her from behind. One lumbered along, holding a steel piece in its stubby hand. Probably the same one that was just chucked at us. She readied herself for it. The beast stopped for a moment, leaned back, then threw itself forward as it sent the steel piece flying toward Malou. She turned to face it, both hands outstretched as she attempted to catch the piece. The Force around it came within her grasp, but the sheer momentum of it tore through the hold. For a moment, Malou's heart stopped as she feared the worse, but it was quickly replaced with adrenaline when she remembered her studies in school. An object in motion stays in motion.

Trying again, Malou grabbed at the steel piece, but instead of trying to stop it this time, she bended its path to guide it a safe distance away from her and her master. She turned to keep facing it as it passed her and her master, using the last bit of its momentum to slam it into the head of one of the beasts ahead of them. The sheer force of impact nearly took the creature's head off, and it slumped to the ground along with the steel piece.

Now to the rest of you. Malou turned back around and waited. They could come to her.

Two of the hulking creatures advanced upon the pair as they continued down the corridor towards the epicentre of the Citadel. Their large frames and brute force was not constrained by the usual slow and clumsy nature of norm, The Force flowed through these things with unnatural grace. Artorigas ducked a blow, bringing his crackling saber up and undernearth the armpit of the beast, the blade slicing clean through its upper chest removing head and arm from body.

The Second hesitated for a moment which was all he needed, a quick step forward allowed him to swipe the blade down from its high angle slicing through the face removing the top of its head. A small push of Force energy cleared the way as they moved forward. Malou had there rear, more were coming from behind perhaps trying to lock them in the central room. As there way ahead seemed easier than he originally expected.

Though the corridor was not without its difficulties, further beasts would continued to approach the pair, luckily for the pair none of them were armed or armoured so they were able to continue to cut through at a steady pace. There were nearing the central hall when he heard it, a chant, it sounded barbaric, like a primal culture. It was in Ur-Kittat. "Sidious." Artorigas said out loud.

Malou was able to hold off the beasts that followed them, though by the time the distant chanting could be heard, she began to grow a little tired. While the beasts were not extraordinarily hard to dismember, she had to be quick on her feet to avoid their swinging arms. She would continue to manage just fine, though she could feel herself begin to fatigue a little after every encounter.

"Sidious?" That name was familiar to her. For a moment she couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she knew it was a name in one of her history books. ...oh, the Sith! Duh! Malou might have face-palmed if she wasn't holding a lightsaber hilt in each hand. He was the emperor of the Sith. Master of Darth Vader. She knew a little Sith history! A mixture of fear and excitement rushed through her. Suspense for what would lie ahead.

Malou would follow her master closely from now on.

As the central room came into view, the vast walls of the corridor disappearing into the cavern which was the centre of the citadel, those beasts both charging and following drew back, allowing the pair of Sith easy access into the cavern. It was large, dark and foreboding, the chanting grew louder as they entered. The shape of the room amplified the noise and perhaps luckily for the pair of them the chanting only came from a group of perhaps thirty or so individuals, collated around a large stone throne.

The thirty or something individuals were chanting in the direction of a cowled individual sat upon the throne, the apparent Sidious. Artorigas smiled behind his mask, the man who sat upon the throne was not a Sith, let alone a Dark Lord. His presence within The Force was mild at best, perhaps he was just the strongest of those that still called this home. "Who dares enter the realm of Darth Sidious." The voice was shrill, like a child kicked in the nuts, no real threat was carried by the voice.

The smile behind the mask widened still as Artorigas decided to play the game. "I, Artorigas Wessex and my apprentice Malou D'Amaris. I come for your throne." The wannabe Dark Lord cackled in response before throwing out a bolt of Force Lightning, it actually caught him by surprise as Artorigas had not expected such an attack from someone so weak, but he was able to block it with his saber. "Maul, Tyrannus get them." A pair of the creatures before him, these appearing more human than the monsters they saw in the corridors began to advance on the pair. "I will leave them to you Malou."

Malou was able to see these individuals well before they came into sight, so as they entered the room her hands tightened on her lightsabers. Once they came before them, confusion hit the apprentice. Darth Sidious? The Darth Sidious? Whoever sat upon the throne was surrounded by the Force, but she was in disbelief of his strength. Or the strength of any of the thirty some creatures. Their faces, though shrouded in darkness to the seeing eye, were defined easily to Malou. They had the same corrupted. infested, grotesques features as the many lumbering beasts she had cut down. These were no people; she had no idea what they were.

The force lightning crackling toward them caught her by surprise as well, but luckily for Malou, Artorgias caught the attack on his blade. Two creatures then came toward them, called forth by the creature on the throne. As the creatures dubbed 'Maul' and 'Tyrannus' advanced toward them, Malou stepped forward at her master's command. She was tired, but not quite that tired. They seemed weaker somehow than the beasts she'd spent the last few hours fighting.

Malou approached them, both of her lightsabers held on each side of her. The two began to run, both drawing what looked to Malou like the hilts of lightsabers. One ignited, throwing a red light against its ugly face. The blade crackled and glitched, as if it was hanging on for dear life to stay on. The other went through the motions of turning his saber on, but nothing ignited. Oh good. She was a bit worried for a moment.

The only without a working saber struck at her first, mocking a slice diagonal down her chest. She responded by leaning back and then kicking him straight in the chest, pushing him back and to the ground. The other then attacked from the left, swinging its blade toward her head. She parried it with one of her own lightsabers and her free hand to cut through his neck with her remaining lightsaber. One down. The other had gotten up at this point, so Malou spun around and made an upward cut and a downward cut with her lightsabers. He too, crumbled to the ground.

Even from her position she could see more of them advancing toward her, so she readied herself for when they got within her range.
