DESCRIPTION​

After abandoning the Z-9X line of starfighters in favor of successive generations of X-Wing starfighter - the venerable starfighter known for destroying two Death Stars -, the Z-9X line has made a comeback after over a century of hiatus. After acquiring the rights to the Z-9X series, a brand new generation of the line was created, introducing the new Z-99 Ultra.

As the name suggests, the Z-99 Ultra is dubbed as a 'ultra-high performance' starfighter. The Z-99 resembles a fusion of a X-Wing and the old Z-95 Headhunter. But however, the role the Z-99 takes differs from the two craft. While the X-Wing and Z-9X models are multi-role starfighters, the Z-99 specializes as an interceptor, being very apt at dogfighting while being able to inflict major damage to hard targets with high explosive missiles or torpedoes. With the medium laser cannons at the wings, it has decent punching power and. Also the starfighter also possess faster firing light laser cannons in the nose, making it more apt to engage in starfighter-to-starfighter combat.

With the Z-99 Ultra's speed is comparable to the T-90 X-Wing, the Z-99 has much more maneuverability. With only a light shield generator for defense, the pilot at the helm of a Z-99 would need to rely on the ship's speed and agility to avoid attacks as primary defense.

This starfighter also comes with S-Foils, like the X-Wing series but unlike the Z-9X line.

As Apex Military Contractors had formed a contract with Incom, Apex will be granted exclusive use of a supply of these bleeding-edge starfighters for a period of three standard years, and then it will be released to the Open Market. This proposal is of mutual benefit to both groups as not only will Apex have exclusive use of this craft, they would also be advertising the craft and then Apex would send Incom combat data to better fine tune the ships when they will be released on the open market.

This particular model of ship dubbed as the Bird of Prey, is a heavily customized version of the Z-99 fighter and is unique to Aden Archer. There are a number of small changes in addition to the aesthetic changes, such as the seats being more comfortable, the dash and controls being better suitated to Aden's liking. There are no performance changes to the ship itself however.

One warhead launcher is loaded with high explosive missiles while the second is mounted with proton torpedoes. The navicomputer for the ship has also been voice-locked to Aden's voice.

Restricted. These ships are starfighters, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.
