Hello, everyone. With the rise of the Hutts, Pykes, and Zann Consortium along with the potential rebirth of Crimson Dawn, I thought it would make sense to start something with Black Sun. Yes, Norbs is currently checking out who's gonna replace the leader with his son, but who knows, maybe Black Sun has something to say about that.

Hence, the interest check. I want to finally do something with Black Sun. They have been included in a few threads and I think it's finally time they start getting legit PCs. Before we talk specifics, I would like to know who is interested in joining the organization. These characters are going to be predominately Black Sun, so I would recommend throwing a character in that isn't super affiliated with one particular Syndicate.

1. @Bhaal
2. @Nyxia Starfell
3. @Mozen Batch
4.
5.
6.
(This list will expand as more people apply.)

Once we get a solid group going, I'll collaborate with those interested into creating a write up for the Syndicate along with a Mission Pack establishing the Syndicate's foothold in the galaxy.

Until then, see y'all Star-Side.

I think everyone is pretty upset with it's current leadership.

EDIT: Isn't Mae apart of the Consortium?

Mae supports the Consortium, but is primarily a freelancer within the 5s. She has also done many jobs for the Pykes.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. This is mainly for those who are going to predominately loyal to the Black Sun Syndicate. So freelancers probably aren't going to be enough to get things rolling. I will allow members of other Syndicates to assist, but this interest check is for the actual Black Sun members.

I'm looking for would-be Ring Leaders and Crime Lords. Mae kinda strikes out to be an Enforcer or Vanguard.

So in the 5S that's sort of a fluid thing until certain ranks. I would think Crimelord is really the only one that Must have a specific Syndicate, honestly the other ranks would probably often work for other syndicates.

While things might be fluid, there is rivalry among the syndicates and if a certain plot is meant for loyalists then how a character has been played should very much play a role. For instance if Black Sun has bad relations with Zann Consortium, or Pyke, then a freelancer who has been working exclusively for those two groups would have a very hard time getting along with Black Sun peeps.

What I'm trying to say is that all the syndicate are not BFFs, so affiliations very much matter at all ranks. Just because the other syndicates might offer jobs to outsiders doesn't mean they would trust them. Also, if a character has been leading mission packs, and claiming multiple rewards for Pyke and Zann Consortium, can they really be considered a freelancer? I think the other factions would very much see them as having picked a side.

No doubt the trust would have to be built IC, I agree fully. And I'll agree that Leading mission packs for another organization can also hinder that trust. All of that would need to be worked out IC. To establish additional loyalty they'd probably need to lead mission packs for said new organization. I agree with you.

Mission Rewards are irrelevant though. As that's just payment for jobs.

I think Wit has a point. If I was in charge of a criminal organization, I would not employ someone who’s been working with my rivals to lead a bunch of missions. I want my loyal members to do it. I don’t want people that jump ship and turncoat.

EDIT: Mission rewards are relevant actually. You are getting paid by that specific Syndicate for doing a job for that specific Syndicate. It’s definitely a reward for your loyalty.

But anyway, if you guys could not have another four paged argument, that would be nice. This is for signups for people that are interested.
