Masu Yasid was born to a small tribe on Rattatak. Scavenging and violence were a daily issue. Food was scarce and clean water hard to find. His father had been killed in a raid when he was baby. His mother and the rest of his kin managed to flee off world when he was three in hopes of a better life. Out in the galaxy, it was another struggle to always keep moving. Like many Rattataki, his family was viewed as brutal and most found work as mercenaries. His mother included had become a mercenary and eventually a bodyguard.

By chance, his mother came into contact with a wandering Jedi. Whether it was through her work, or the Jedi had been sent, Masu never knew. All that he did know was the Jedi sensed Masu's growing connection to the Force. At five years old, Masu was taken to be trained as a Jedi. It had been his mother's wish that he find a life that had purpose, without starvation or disease. Something that had to be better than poverty.

On Coruscant, the young Rattataki became a serious boy who took his training diligently. He was enthralled with this strange world, and was eager to understand what strange connection existed in himself. Most of all he found a purpose to his life. His teachers first taught him meditation to quell his troubled thoughts, and when he found peace he focused on physical training. The value of the Force was making himself better. In basic learning he found fascination with order and law started a goal to become a Guardian so others would not live in the anarchy that his fleeting memories recalled.

Yet with each year the new world Masue was in had lost its glamour. Questions started to arise as he grew older. There was frustration on the Republic's strange laws, anger against the Exiles for the chaos they called, and frustration with the Jedi Code. Why must they preserve the lives of evil too, did mercy really mean justice? Didn't some people prove they deserved execution to preserve greater peace? The resentment dwindled through his trials, turning in a small ember in the back of his mind. When he became a Knight and ventured into the world, he found perspective. He traveled to preserve order and peace, but found there was little he could change beyond small acts of kindness. Justice was fleeting as problems never were fixed, and he found those who were meant to be for the people were selfish and corrupt. They did not deserve the help of the Jedi yet they were bound to help, and Masu found himself questioning that. Anarchy still prevailed in democracy and corruption was apparent in governments. More than ever was the allure of the order the dark side provided.

The end to Masu's time in the Order was by violence. Seeking to end a weapons trade that funneled money through smugglers to the Hutt Cartels, Masu was lead to Corellia. There he uncovered how corrupt political officials had been helping the police funnel equipment to smugglers and on the Hutt Cartel. It was something Masu had seen and heard of a dozen times before, and each time he never found the justice he wanted. He chose in that time to enact justice. He slew those responsible, and suddenly found his path much easier. Evil could be destroyed on the spot, trials lead to escapes, the Force was all the evidence he needed to know guilt. More he turned to vigilante justice. He renounced his ties to the Jedi he held contact with, and left all of his former life behind for another path. There was truth in the Dark Side, he simply needed to find it.

Personality & Traits

Masu is a quieter person, preferring to listen when in conversation, and taking action when it is necessary. Even as a Jedi his philosophy was that deliberation had its place but action the present was what made change. The past was to be learned, future dangers prevented, and the present experienced. He does not mind conversation or speaking on ideology, though has no place for petty insults or bravado.

From his upbringing, Masu has a distaste for chaos and anarchy. Order leads to efficiency and less distraction. Even his anger he focused into purpose and immediately releases it. Allowing emotion to take control leads to chaos and weakness.

In ideology he believes that a single form of goverment purged of weak elements was necessary to maintain proper order. Greater peace can only be reached by proper control and power to prevent anarchy. Though the weak might suffer at first, it would lead to a great control so no one would suffer the fear of destruction. Needless violence and killing he has no interest in, and finds it to be a show of weakness. It had its place on the battlefliend, but nothing more.

Gear
Most often Masu is found in Enforcer armor without the 'buckethead'. Though he doesn't wish to be associated with the police unless the need arises, he enjoys the fact that most don't bother someone dressed as one. Though instead of the usual black he more often wore a set with grey cloth. It made moving around planets where Exiles aren't welcome far easier. Instead of the trademark enforcer helmet, he prefers to carry a standard space-grade helmet in case of toxic environments.

For weapons he carries his lightsaber, most often concealed in a lining at his side, just beneath a holster carrying a standard 4C blaster pistol for self defense. When traveling uses a simple backpack with dry rations, water, extra datapad, comlink, and simple tools.

Skills

Masu's skills have physical base for all his training. Concentration was meant to boost his physical abilities and speed with only simple pushes and pulls to throw off his enemy. He had no interest in abilities that required long preparation or waiting, action was where he found himself at his best. For that reason his style with the lightsaber is aggressive but measured, often turning to Form II to be fluid and quick. Though strength was necessary in a duel, it was to be saved for the last blow. To adapt he felt was a far better power than any pure strength or rage.

In the Force, Masu was able to push, pull, and hold with proficiency. He never cared to learn more than strengthening his own defense. Though he employed mind manipulation to make simple and clear suggestions, he focused far more on guarding his own mind and seeking to control his body.

Now on his own, he is beginning to learn more about being alone. How to get food, camping in urban worlds and the wilds, and simple maintenance for a blaster and armor. He has since found allies with the Exiles, but still sought to be able to go on his own. Most company he found were temporary or questionable, always leading him again to another path.
