Ask Corellia Bonding Time

[Elidan]

Corellia was known for its ace pilots and large starships. Many famous ships used during the Imperial era were built on this planet. Like many other planets of the Core, it also was considered a hub of culture and social life on this part of the Galaxy. Coronet city, its capital, had several places that could be visited by tourists.

It was because of tourism that Elidan was now seated in the spaceport of the capital city of Corellia. He was going to have a day off in Coronet with Willa, who was the other Padawan of Haldir, his Master. This was going to be a good opportunity for the two of them to bond, while not doing something related to the Jedi Order.

While he waited for the other Padawan to arrive, Elidan was watching an episode of CSI: Coruscant on his Datapad. At least, he was trying to do it. His mind was too busy thinking about how Willa was going to react to him that he was barely paying attention to what he was seeing on the device.

He was unsure if the other Padawan would like him. He had met her only one time before and that was very briefly during a Life Day party at the Temple. While she seemed to be nice at the time, the half-Annfyn was uncertain of how she was going to react now. Hopefully it would not be bad.

[Willa Kanz]

She knew her Master had taken on another student, but the name didn't ring any bells straight away. Not that she was good with names to begin with, but she met a fair few when she had brief spates of time in the Yavin temple. However, that didn't mean she wasn't anxious. What if they didn't like her? What if they thought her sense of style was odd..? Not that it mattered.

So she tried her best.

Dressed in black slacks threaded in gold, a gold tube top, and with long braids tightly curled into two high buns and secured by black hair pins dipped in gold paint. Her bare arms were covered in a kimono-type black jacket, where her lightsaber nestled securely, clipped on a gold chain belt. Clothes were her armor. The anonymity of G. Wiz was a mask, but so were her colors. She could be anyone she wanted to. However...

A familiar figure stooped over a datapad, and she stilled. He was still pretty cute... did he remember her? At Life Day, he seemed to have many friends, so she doubted it... but still.

Striding up, she stood next to the other Padawan, and lightly tapped him on the shoulder, before giving him a wide grin and a wave.

Hello friend! Nice to see you again!

Bright notes sang in the Force, a cheerful, sunny trill of songs as both relief and excitement sang out. She hoped she wasn't overdressed.

[Elidan]

Elidan had finally focused on the show that he was watching on the Datapad when Willa arrived. Due to his headphones, the half-Annfyn didn’t hear the other Padawan approaching. He only saw her when she tapped his shoulder. It took him by surprise, making him jolt and nearly drop his datapad on the floor.

When Elidan saw that it was Willa who had touched him, a smile appeared on his lips. While he waited for her, the half-Annfyn was wondering if she still remembered him from the time that they met during the Life Day party. He felt happy with her positive answer. He placed his Datapad on his lap and signed to her. “Hello. It’s really good to see you again.”

Then, the half-Annfyn put his Datapad and headphone inside the crossbody bag that he had brought with him and got up from his seat. Only now he noticed the clothes that Willa was wearing. When they had agreed to meet in Coronet, Elidan had thought that they would walk a bit in the city and visit some places. He wondered if she had plans to go to some fancy place.

Near her, he felt so underdressed. These were his best clothes, but it would be obvious to anyone that saw them that they were hand me downs. The half-Annfyn hoped that his presence would not embarrass her during their trip.

The boy forgot about these thoughts when he felt the cheer and excitement that was coming from Willa through the Force. It meant that she was happy to be here. “So, what are we going to do? I heard that Coronet city has many tourist spots.” he really wanted to visit the Zoo. It was the second largest in the Core, only behind the one in Coruscant. However, he would wait to see if she had any idea before suggesting it.

[Willa Kanz]

She grinned at the fellow Padawan's excitement, wincing inwardly at how she dressed in comparison to him. No doubt he would be embarrassed at such attention; she was already slightly regretting choosing gold of all things. And he was younger than her by a few years, at least. Truth be told, the last time she was here, she was... doing things not meant to be legal. Having spent some time as a grease monkey, she didn't have time to be strolling about the Coronet City like she was, but seeing Elidan seem so enthralled brought a smile up in her.

Looping an arm through his, she flashed him her brightest smile, tilting her head. "We're gonna follow your lead," she grinned, giving him a wink. "I've never been on holiday, this should be fun!"

And with G. Wiz's latest release, Willa had ample money to spend, and all the time in the world.

[Elidan]

Elidan’s smile grew after hearing Willa say that he could decide where they should go first. He nodded to her and quickly typed a new message on his Datapad. “Cool! Then, I want to start by visiting the Zoo of Cornet City. I read that there is even a safari there.” this one in Corellia, after the Zoo of Coruscant, was probably one of the best in the Galaxy. For someone like the half-Annfyn that loved animals, this place was a paradise.

He accepted Willa’s arm and the two walked together out of the spaceport, seeking to pick a cab. Since Corellia was the capital of the sector, this spaceport had a great flux of people arriving and leaving the planet. To help the movimentation of these individuals, several speeders remained outside the building to be used by them to move around Coronet city.

This way, the two Padawans soon found one that could bring them to the Zoo. The speeder that they entered was a self-piloting one and they only needed to insert the name of the location to where they wanted to go in a device near the place where the pilot usually stayed.

Once Elidan did it, the vehicle started to move. Since there would be some time until they arrived at the Zoo, the half-Annfyn thought that it could be a good opportunity for the two to have a conversation. After all, they barely knew each other. “I hope that you didn’t mind that we are going to the Zoo. I like animals, so I thought that we could see it first.”

It was probably awkward. Elidan was never good at starting conversations, even before he developed selective mutism. Trying to not leave things this way, he typed another message. “Willa, when did you become Haldir’s Padawan?” he was curious to know how it happened and prepared to tell her his story.

[Willa Kanz]

She liked Elidan. He seemed a nice kid, and very easy to talk to. Even when they met briefly, she felt comfortable to be exactly who she wanted to be without limitations. Settling into the cab, she gave him a grin. "You don't have to use the datapad; if it's easier, we can sign." She held up her hands, and gave him a cheeky wink. "I've studied up since meeting ya. But..."

She paused, mulling her words over.

I was Haldir's Padawan a little over a year ago, she signed, pausing every now and then to find the words. Before that, I was Max Tionson's. He was--

She paused. Though there was a hint of an ache, it didn't hurt as much as it did before. Letting out a slight grin, she continued. He was almost finished with my training. He was a good master, and so is Haldir. Saved me a couple times. She grinned again, tapping the blinded side of her face. We all carry scars. But they're a lesson, too. How about you, cutie? What's your story?

[Elidan]

Elidan nodded in agreement when Willa proposed that they could use sign language. This would make the communication between them easier. While he didn’t mind using the Datapad, it made their conversations become slow since he would need to type what he wanted to say then show it to her.

The half-Annfyn paid close attention to what Willa was saying. When the woman mentioned that she had another master before Haldir, Elidan noticed a slight change in her mood. He didn’t know what had happened with her old master, but he was certain that thinking about it was still painful to her. He wasn’t going to ask about it, only if she wanted to tell him.

Then, it was Elidan time to tell his story. “I've been with the Jedi Order since I was 3 years old. I used to live in Ajan Kloss until…” he stopped signing. The boy didn’t want to enter in details about what had happened with him on this day. “Well, until the Sith Invaded it. I went to Yavin IV. I met Haldir some months ago in the library and asked him to become my Master and he accepted.”

While they talked with each other, the speeder arrived at the Zoo. Elidan opened his bag and started to search for the money to pay for it. The idea of coming here was his, it was only fair that he was the one to pay. The half-Annfyn only hoped that he would have enough money with him. Being one of the orphans, he didn’t have much at his disposal.
