Welcome to the Bounty Boards! In this forum, you can post bounties on player characters and NPCs under the proper circumstances. If you are looking for the Bounty Hunters Guild click here. The following are the rules for the bounty boards:

Posting a Bounty

  • Bounties can be posted by Faction Leaders, Staff SWAT (NPC Law Enforcement), or Player Character with appropriate resources (ie; large amount of credits to give away), and are always written from the IC point of view of whichever character is posting it.
  • Posted bounties must utilize the necessary templates (located in the spoiler at the bottom of this post) and the correct thread tag: Open for ongoing bounties, Complete for a hunt that has been completed, and Failed for hunts that have failed. The tag Most Wanted can only be applied by the Staff and is reserved for the most valued bounties.
  • ALL Bounties MUST have appropriate IC justification such as a character committing crimes (and being recognized or recorded doing so), being caught in the midst of espionage or an attack on another player or faction, getting into an IC personal conflict with the wrong Hutt Lord, etc. Abuse of the bounty board to target certain players unjustly for OOC reasons will result in disciplinary action. When possible, links to the IC act that triggered the bounty should be provided.
  • All bounty threads are death-disabled by default unless the bounty target decides to make it death enabled. All bounties posted are “alive” only unless the bounty target consents to a “dead” or “dead or alive” posting.

Claiming or Removing a Bounty

  • Bounty Hunters of any affiliation can develop and submit espionage plots to track, trap, or capture any player characters with a bounty on their heads. These must follow all appropriate espionage rules and be approved by a plot admin.
    • When hunting a PC bounty, an appropriate plot must be completed in order to find the planet that the individual is on.
    • Once the planet has been located, in the final thread the hunter may use their tracking fob to locate the position of the target. This means that the final thread of the plot will allow a bounty hunter to invade either an OPEN or ASK thread that the target is in with a number of allies equal to the amount of resistance in the thread.
  • Bounties on NPCs must be DMed in the final thread of the plot
  • A bounty can be rescinded by the character who posted it at any time and for any reason by simply posting a notification in the bounty thread and tagging a plot admin. Characters are encouraged to work out a possible escape or story arc on removing a bounty.
  • The bounty is considered voided if the person that placed the bounty is dead. Another PC can't simply pick up the bounty, a new justification must be made for the bounty. The ONLY exceptions are galactic-wide known PCs such as infamous faction leaders. This will be treated on a case by case basis.
  • Characters with a bounty on their head can remove it by doing an appropriate plot, which can be worked out with the player who posted the bounty or with the plot team (if the bounty has been posted by an NPC). Once the plot is completed and all appropriate requirements are met, the targeted player should post in their bounty thread, link to the completed plot, and tag a plot moderator.
  • To claim a bounty, simply post in the bounty thread with a link to the thread where the bounty has been captured or killed and tag the plot staff so that they can review the legitimacy of the thread. Once your bounty claim has been approved, a member of the staff will DM as the Client and the exchange of the target will be roleplayed out.
  • At no point in this exchange thread the target can be killed. This has to be a story motivated interaction and can be in a number of forms. An interrogation, possible escape, Corellian stand-offs, whatever may come from the experience.

Bounty Rewards

  • Because we do not have a system in place for tracking IC currency, successfully redeemed bounties reward an OOC "Bounty Token" that can be redeemed to further a character or faction plot in appropriate ways- using the funds to establish a business or buy property, for example. Make sure to link your completed bounty when you develop any plots related to using the reward in this manner.

Ranking of Bounties and Hunters

Anybody can pursue or claim any bounty but there are benefits to being a member of the Bounty Hunters Guild (BHG) rather than a ‘freelancer’. All non BHG members must do an additional degree of preparation to catch a bounty. Anyone who has not completed a plot to be initiated into the BHG is considered a ‘freelancer.’ For every increase in rank, the length of plot required to capture a target can be reduced by 1 thread (to a minimum of 2 threads). Freelancers also receive only 50% of the pay for a bounty (tokens are rounded down to a minimum of 1).

In order to gain initiation into the Guild, a character must submit a minimum of 2-3 thread plot in order to bring in their first bounty. These bounties must be created by the player submitting the plot. This initiation bounty is not eligible for bounty tokens, but successful delivery of the target will gain the freelancer access into the Guild as an initiate.
  • Freelancers: Individuals who have not yet been initiated into the BHG but want to hunt targets fall into this category. Typically aspiring bounty hunters who have not proven themselves are considered this.
  • Initiate: Those who have completed their first bounty for the Guild and have secured their place fall into this category. Typically an unknown entity within the BHG, every member once started at this rank.
  • Tracker: Hunters at this level have proven that they know how to track a target and are beginning to make a name for themselves within the Guild. They have tracked targets for the Guild successfully on multiple occasions and are generally counted upon to get the job done.
  • Hunter: “Old reliable” would be a phrase used to describe Hunters. They are well known throughout the Guild and have a reputation of success on their hunts. When a Hunter pursues a target, it is only a matter of time until the target is brought in.
  • Master Hunter: The ultimate bounty hunters, the Master Hunter always gets his man. These individuals are known by everyone in the Guild and are able to quickly track and capture even the most difficult of acquisitions. If they’re on the hunt, the target’s days of freedom are numbered.

Bounties fall into a number of categories:
  • System: Targets in this section are roughly 3 threads to hunt for a Freelancer. These are your general bail jumpers and more common criminals. These are worth 1 bounty token.
  • Sector: Targets in this area of danger and payout are around 4 threads to hunt at standard. Accomplished and capable, sector targets have earned and survived the bounty on their head. These are worth 2 bounty tokens.
  • Regional: These are quite dangerous and are few and far between. These people probably have their pictures on the holo-net occasionally and for good reason. They’re wanted criminals that have done significant wrongs. Often no less than 5 threads are required to track down one of these targets. These are worth 3 bounty tokens.
  • Galactic: Even the targets of this level that aren’t labeled as the galaxy’s Most Wanted are not to be trifled with. Ex-military generals wanted for war crimes might hold this degree of renown. Typically these targets require 6 threads to hunt for the uninitiated. These are worth 4 bounty tokens or 5 for Most Wanted targets.
Ranking up in the BHG is not unlike how characters normally gain reputation. Repeated successful hunts and higher profile bounties being hunted can more quickly increase the reputation of the hunter.
