The Chiss Ascendancy is a nation consisting of numerous star systems. For centuries, the Chiss species have dominated the Chiss Ascendancy xenophobically, but in the last few centuries have allowed alien species to join its ranks, though Chiss still dominate the ranks. This technologically advanced faction consists of numerous components that make the conglomerate faction work. Here is a list of some of the divisions of the Chiss Ascendancy.

• Council of Eminence: The Council of Eminence is the ruling body of the Chiss Ascendancy, headed by the Grand Imperator. Originally, only the Grand Imperator led the Chiss Ascendancy after the failed Yleba rebellion, though half a century after the establishment of the Grand Imperatorship the Council would officially be forged. It consists of the Grand Imperator, Vice Imperator (sometimes filled by one of the following seats), Tactical Commander, and the Director of CAIN; when the Immortal Order was founded, the High Immortal joined these ranks. Occasionally heads of Ruling Families are invited to join the Council.
• Ruling Families: The Ruling Families consist of the most powerful families in the Chiss Ascendancy. Families tend to hold influence towards different domains. Some examples include Mar, Arch, and Prard.
• Chiss Expansionary Defense Force: The Chiss Expansionary Defense Force, sometimes shortened to CEDF, is the main military power in the Chiss Ascendancy. It consists of the majority of the military and most of the normal forces. Originally focused on defense, over the last decades has been retrofitted to allow for more offensive capabilities if required. It is led by the Tactical Commander.
  • Shadow Walkers: The Shadow Walkers is a commando unit created by Mar'tel'nuruodo.
• Chiss Ascendancy Intelligence Network: The Chiss Ascendancy Intelligence Network, also known simply as CAIN, is a conglomerate organization that encompasses intelligence, diplomacy, and internal security. Started originally as Ikegobo, it is seen as one of the Ascendancy's Trinity (the top three most influential divisions: CEDF, CAIN, and Immortals). Over time, it has expanded its domain, such as including authority over research (CARD) and Force (Chevaliers). It also manages the Internship Programs. CAIN is led by its Director.
  • Diplomatic Bureau: The Diplomatic Bureau is a governmental body that resides over diplomacy with other factions and is dually under the authority of the senatorial body of planetary leaders. It also manages the colonies, directing the Governor-Generals.
  • Chiss Ascendancy Research Division: The Chiss Ascendancy Research Division, sometimes simply referred to as CARD, is an agency that resides over the Chiss Engineering Systems and a leading authority in Ascendancy-based science and research. Many institutional review boards consist of a representative from CARD. CARD is numerously partnered with CEDF and Immortals to help design their technology and weaponry.
  • Security of Internal Affairs: The Security of Internal Affairs (SIA) is a governmental militia force tasked with internal security of the Ascendancy. It tends to coordinate efforts with CEDF.
  • Ascendant Guard: The Ascendant Guard are the personal security force of high-level Ascendancy officials, chiefly the Council of Eminence.
  • Chevaliers: The Chevaliers are the newest addition to CAIN. When the Immortal Order switched from a primarily Force sect to elite special forces, many Force users were transferred to Chevaliers. Chevaliers serve as the primary Force sect in the Ascendancy.
• Immortal Order: The Immortal Order is an elite special forces, consisting of some of the best soldiers in the Chiss Ascendancy. During Nuru Krest's reign, it transformed into a Force sect, though was ratified years later. Despite its smaller size, it is seen as one of the Ascendancy's Trinity (CEDF, CAIN, and Immortals).
• Chiss Engineering Systems: Chiss Engineering Systems is one of major production entities in the Chiss Ascendancy, especially for the government and military. It is managed by CARD.
